I'd play Bryant as well with what I know now. If Barber doesn't play Choice is to me the easy play as good as he looked last week in a horrible matchup.
-
I have Turner & Longwell too obv. I'm more confident in Turner as the week progresses. The Bucs are reportedly banged up at DT, and I don't think him not producing in Ryan's 1st career road start in week 2 really means much; particularly given how much better they played in their rematch vs. Carolina at home than the 1st time around. I think Cassell & Favre are close enough that you can go with Favre if there's any health concerns on Cassell. I really hate this news of Megatron having an injured hand on top of possibly having a 98th string QB throwing him the ball against a top pass defense Not sure if I can bench him for Colston or not.

+1. They missed him maybe more than I thought last year, but I think that was magnified in that they didn't have any other shooters ie Rautins, who I haven't noticed him to be especially streaky as others have said. -
I dunno the weather report but I mean you can throw on the Bears and the Saints can throw. I'm thinking of playing Colston over Andre or Megatron who have bad matchups but probably won't pull the trigger. Obviously Brees spreads the ball around more than you'd like but your alternatives aren't anything to get excited about outside of Royal who doesn't have a good matchup. I've personally never given much thought to the "canceling out" theory, though my co-owner is obsessed with it. Good luck to Turner & Longwell!

Enough with the "deferring" criticism

Did I miss the previous dozen threads on this that made this thread necessary? -
I hate this league. The scoring sucks, the payouts suck, the rules, et al. I am of course the #1 seed which isn't going to win me much if I come up small this week. RB's - play 2 Chris Johnson - @Houston - this is a no-brainer IMO. Turner - Bucs Steven Jackson - Seahawks I held on to Jackson specifically for these playoff matchups, as Turner's playoff schedule blows @Minny next week. Now I'm watching this Bucs defense that had given up 1 rushing TD all year get mauled by the Panthers. WTF?

Well obviously we're lucky to escape with a .500 week. Not unusual in that there aren't as many appealing lines late in the season, as evidence from recent unusual road favorite picks. Lets just move on. Week 15 Baltimore -1 vs. Pittsburgh - Was kinda expecting/hoping to get points here instead of laying 1, but I probably wasn't going to get 3 anyway. The Steelers are coming off a really physical game, but if you saw the same game as me on Monday Night in Pittsburgh earlier in the year, you're not totally convinced that they're even a better team anyway. Tennessee -3 @ Houston - This will be strictly a "I thought it would be 5 or 6" pick; though I'm not crazy about it to be honest. The Texans play much better at home and they basically killed the Packers in Lambeau only to make it close via shooting themselves in the foot. I still kinda like only giving up the FG and think the Titans can control the clock vs. a suspect defense where as if Finnegan can neutralize Johnson somewhat Houston should have a tough time scoring. Thursday edit: Atlanta -3 vs. Tampa - Standard FG line, I'll lay the FG with the home team, which has worked so far this year in this division. The Bucs much like the Colts are a tactically sound team that doesn't really feed off emotion (which I think in the long run is a plus) but I don't think it helps them play any better "because they're mad" after getting embarrassed on Monday Night. Taking the Week 2 game with a grain of salt since it was Ryan's first career road start. Last Week: 2-2 YTD: 28-16

I guess trying to convince everyone else that they're "a better fan" makes some feel superior. Now that is sad.

Somebody told me this game wasn't in the U.S. I didn't realize it was in Cuba though. -
Playing Va Tech in the Orange Bowl. Man, that has to be the worst BCS game ever. Well congrats anyway.
-
I guess this would be the week to sit Romo if you ever would - I've read some experts recommending such. I still can't do it unless I have an alternative somewhere around the level of Cutler, not Ben. Also I don't think missing your RB hurts the fantasy production of a good QB.
-
I'd go with Thigpen too and I'm not sure it's particularly close. I actually plan on playing him next week over Ryan & Pennington in my freebie yahoo league - good playoff schedule if you're stuck at QB.
-
Agree w/ Pasta Joe.
-
He seems like a good guy with a good attitude and all but I can't say I've ever been impressed with his insight. "Ya know who I really like is that DE - what's his name, Kelsay? He's a player. Whitner, he's good".
-
Yeah awesome news for those of us Michael Turner owners that have a shot to make it to championship week Sounds like they're going to appeal though which could take forever...

Week 14 Pittsburgh -3 vs. Dallas - If you can explain how these teams are even on a neutral field, let me know. I can only figure the desperation factor and the 10 days rest keeps the line this low, but whatever, I'll give the FG. New England -4.5 @ Seattle - Hawks appear to have mailed in this season, so I'll lay points w/ the Pats on the west coast coming off a bad loss, which worked out ok @SF. NY Jets -4 @ SF - As Cris Carter has mentioned the last couple of weeks, the Jets are a schizo team - I think the lines react to the most recent game too much. If they played an average game @Buffalo last week I think they have that game put away by halftime which of course the 49ers did not who I don't think necessarily played a below average game by their standards. Travel is a mild concern, but Favre was always great @Candlestick as a Packer. New Orleans -3 vs. Atlanta - This used to be the only division where homefield meant nothing, now it's apparently the only division where it means anything (or everything). Not much has changed about my opinion of either team since a month ago when I took the Falcons -1 because I thought they were equal on a neutral field. While this line in the rematch actually reflects that, I'm going with the stud QB playing for his season at home against a very likeable team - but it's hard to see the Falcons as a team ready to win back-to-back tough road games. Looks like Bush is back too. 4 favorites including 2 road favorites, really not my style but this is a screwed up year. No Bills pick because: [x] Bills giving less than 3. [ ] Trent has his head out of his ass. [x] Possible JP Loserman sighting. If Trent does play and play well we officially have to give the "weather theory" some serious thought, right? Is putting a roof over the Ralph totally out of the question (half kidding of course)? Last Week: 2-1 YTD: 26-14

Not that it matters, but a little surprised to only move up to #20 in the polls. Nice to see them pound a cupcake tonight as they should have....was mildly concerned they'd be fatigued and win by 4 or something. -
Yah you gotta like Z. Even though I don't agree w/ some of his stuff, he at least watches all the games which is more than you can say for just about anyone else.

That, and 71 yards is a good game by any TE's standards. -
Great analysis Matter. Sparano and the Atlanta Smith are darlings now but the likelyhood of that still being the case after 2-3 full seasons isn't very good (much like Payton & Mangini 2 years ago). But yah I'm about done with Jauron not because he's the worst coach in the league; but his sample size is large enough at this point to conclusively say there isn't much upside. "Upside" doesn't necessarily mean we have to pull a Cam Cameron and go after the latest flavor of the month coordinator that has lots of good players on his side of the ball, but if not at least make a play at a retread with more than 1 winning season like a Jim Fassel if in fact Marty & Cowher are pipe dreams.
-
Is it too much to ask for Jauron to just get mad??
BuffOrange replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just don't get why so many people care about this. For every successful "kick in the butt" coach like Parcells, there's a Walsh or Landry or Bellichick. Nobody cares about this stuff when you win. Jauron doesn't win. -
Because he likes glamour cities like Cleveland/KC or because he likes hands off owners like Dan Snyder? Seriously, stop with the inferiority complex. Whether Ralph would open the checkbook is of course the biggest issue.
