  1. For me it's not a matter of not thinking he can do it for a year as much as preferring his career not be effectively over in 2011 in a Larry Johnson sort of way. I thought that everyone begging to get Lynch 25 carries every game his rookie year was insane for the same reason, since that team was never going anywhere. It's a pretty easy decision to use both when they're healthy/available.
  2. Why anyone would pretend RB's are like QB's is beyond me. You can have more than one. Instead of the 70/30 split (or something like that) last year it's going to be more like 55/45 now. Jackson has earned that but he'll be in a wheelchair if he gets 27 carries every week.
  3. You should bet the mortgage then. Line opened at 4.
  4. I'll definitely eat crow if he continues to play like this. Like Gruden said he looks like a FS.
  5. What if you don't buy conventional thinking?
  6. Where are all the "I was right, you were wrong" attention whores who asked "where are all the JP bashers" after he played a couple good games in '06? Where are all the "I told you so" donks who just knew we wouldn't miss Pat Williams after one good defensive game on '05 opening day? Can we win one freaking game without pathetic threads like this where you declare how much smarter you are than everyone else and then disappear when you're proven wrong? Lets do something against a defense that didn't make Patrick freaking Crayton look like Jerry Rice first.
  7. Looks like that right shoulder of Brady's is finally getting to him after 7 years.
  8. Awful. Why get worse at RB and QB?
  9. I would drop Meachem for Baltimore Clayton and play either him or Cotchery.
  10. This is a much more thoughtful (and accurate) criticism of the coaching than is typical around here. Can't argue with any of that. I don't have much respect for either Sully or Hamilton but I am one of the few guys who enjoys Mike Schope. As he has said many times, Jauron is basically a CEO because he doesn't call plays or anything like that, which is fine. But if that's going to be his style then he absolutely needs to be on top of these clock/game management situations. He's not and it's indefensible. As far as Fewell goes I have a hard time calling for his head when he has for the most part taken undersized and overmatched personnel and kept us in the middle of pack with respect to pts given up. But if the new HC next year wants to bring in his own DC I'm not going to have a problem with that.
  11. Did he find a way to play the race card?
  12. Gore and Chris Johnson easily. WTF is Addai glaring at you? Donald Brown was on the field when the Colts were trying to close out last week's game, and their running game sucks anyway. WR you play White and then either Housh if you wanna play it safe or Braylan if ya wanna gamble.
  13. Not a homer pick at all; Freddy might be your best option imo. I'd give SJax a very slight edge over Parker.
  14. Forte
  15. I'd probably go Addai for this week, though for the long haul it looks like Brown is a bigger threat than Mendenhall for touches.
  16. I was at that game. At the time there was consolation in knowing that the call screwed Miami more than anyone else as it cost them the division. But in retrospect it's annoying that it helped springboard a dynasty.
  17. Back in those days we hardly ever scored defensive or Special TD's but always allowed them. That was the most confident I'd ever been about a game we lost; both before the game and even in the 4th Qtr after Burress put us up 27-20 on a tipped ball pick 6.
  18. Dallas > NE imo just because Romo gave us the ball six freaking times. I never knew it was mathematically possible for an NFL team to lose in spite of that, at home no less. I'd rank Jacksonville higher too. Cleveland should be lower 'cause Edwards was so bad and the game didn't mean much. '98 "just give it to em" clearly deserves a spot. In any case, NFL Network clearly ought to reevaluate their "top 10 snakebitten franchises" where we were inexplicably #9.
  19. What has Clayton ever done to make you think he's not a bust? The same could've been said of Bryant until the middle of last year. Maybe he's a late bloomer but I think he's banged up at the moment.
  20. yah that was week 2 as well. No Lawyer Milloy to run over this time though.
  21. That is way too hilarious to be real.
  22. I don't really mind that about him as much as him not knowing anything about sports.
  23. Only 2 RB's is rather intersting. You'll likely have to give up too much for Brees so just stick with Manning who has a nice playoff schedule. Captain Checkdown is obviously much worse for Evans than TO.
  24. I too have my doubts about our passing game exploiting anyone's secondary deep. IMO Leftwich and their WR's aren't any good, so I could see this being our annual "get an early lead on special teams and pounce on a team that can't play from behind when the crowd gets into it" home game. If it's close midway thru the 2nd Qtr it'll probably be a dogfight though. Hey is anyone else WTF @ only having 2 RB's right now? Not that I have a problem with Omen getting a few carries in relief, but if Freddy gets dinged up we're kinda screwed there, no?
  25. But Trent isn't nearly as bad as Romo. Or I read that somewhere around here.
