I wonder if Sporano putting zero players on his injury report all of last year was his way of making fun of him.

+1 I got it streamed at work. Schopp&Bulldog blow Philly mouth-breathers out of the water. To be fair, 80% of the callers are idiots.

PFW audibles - Bills v. Pats

So true. I used to think the scout comments in Pasquarelli's column was the only reason to visit espn for a football article. Now there is zero reason. -

So what's the connection again? The Bucs jumped offsides on purpose because they were goading us into going for it? If you wee a Bucs fan do you want us to go for it there? I think you're lying if you say yes. I'm not an originator of this idea, but it's pretty clear that job preservation plays a much larger role in a lot of coaches decisions (not just Jauron's) than putting their team in the best position to win. That Bellichick (and Shannahan as far as anyone knew last yr) are/were considered both fire-proof and 'gamblers' is great evidence of this. Furthermore I saw Marvin Lewis (tied with Brad Childress as the worst gameday coach in football) say on NFL Network when questioned about statistical analysis - make some smug comment about the mathematician's mortgage not being on the line. Well yah Marvin, that sort of proves the point - when you're thinking about your mortgage you're not giving your team the best chance to win. Because when you punt/kick and lose it's always the player's fault, but everyone blames you when you make the correct "gambling" decision and lose. -
Yah I think you make that deal. Maybe try to get a throw-in RB on his bench instead of Garcon.

It's possible that he is done, but cherry-picking seasons where he got hurt is pretty weak. -
Another fortunate .500 week. Thanks to Romo although he cost me a fantasy win. Only "why didn't I see that coming game" I regret not taking so far is Cincy +9.5 last week. The Bungles should've beaten Denver and was my preseason sleeper pick to boot, while GB who I also liked but escaped Chi despite 4 turnovers? D'oh...that's ok cause I was also thinking about Miami +3 Monday night which would've been a terrible loss. BTW anyone who has the Colts in their top 5 power ratings is insane. Not picking against them yet because the Cardinals I think are a pretty good match-up for them. Week 3 Carolina +9 @ Dallas - Biggest wtf line I've seen in long time. To be fair the Cowboys had no business losing last week if not for terrible QB play but even if they had won by 14 I'd be taking the points here. None of the fantasy experts bashing the Panthers run defense seem to understand it took Turner 28 carries to top 100 last week. Buffalo +6 vs. NO - See thread in main forum. Miami +6 @ San Diego - Jamal Williams is the biggest loss to injury nobody's talking about that I can remember in a long time. I think their run defense is going to suck like their pass defense sucked without Merriman last year. I also think they are finished as SB contenders. This should be a dogfight. I think that's all for this week. YTD: 5-5

Bills game not shown in Syracuse and CNY area

Now that is a legitimate outrage - I agree. -

Grew up in Cuse. IIRC they give the Bills the same priority on CBS when the Giants are hosting an AFC team, which is fair. Sucks but at least it's not blacked out so you can go to a bar. -

Couldn't agree more. The Bills right now are an average team imo and there are very few NFL teams who should be laying 6 on the road vs. an average team. Pittsburgh for instance hovered between 1 and 3 all week @Chicago and this week they're giving just 4 @Cincy. The Saints are probably better than last year, but to what extent I'm not sure yet. People need to slow down on them being elite after playing two QB's with a combined zero pro starts. -
greatest team of all time

I think most 9ers will tell you their '84 team was better than '94. -
Two defensive scores helps. A lot.

I don't know how many 58 yarders Nugent has made in his career, but even if that's true you are much like everyone else, ignoring the 24 yard difference in Tampa's drive start (2 if we fail on 4th down, 26 on average after a kickoff). So really your liberal 40 yard estimate amounts to a 16 yard advantage for us. That absolutely is not worth passing on the upside of putting a game away with a 4th&1, which btw we convert 75% of the time (conservative estimate since that is league average and were running at will). Kicking in that spot is horrible. Anyone who thinks that's nitpicking because we won, then fine. Just don't ever accuse anyone of hindsight when he does something stupid that doesn't work. You can stick on 13 and watch the dealer bust with his face card - doesn't make it the right decision. -
I'd probably go with Garrard. He is proven and Houston's defense still blows.
-
SJax is the easy play there imo. He got 100yds against a Skins D that I think is just as good vs. the run as GB who couldn't stop Benson and a bad Cincy OL. Plus the Rams seem to fall behind 14-0 less often at home. I think Parker is going to start losing some carries after Mendenhall finally looked decent last week; but they can't run the ball anyway and the Bengals defense isn't that bad. Bush could have a big game receiving vs. our LB's but meh.

Parrish chasing down Piscitelli

Yah, it's more fun to blame the guy on the trading block than the most likeable player on the team right now. Whatever, it was definitely an anti Peerless Price hustle play, and his return skills alone are worth more than a 4th round pick imo. Hope he stays. -
It doesn't piss me off. And if they're supposed to do a linear list based on record, what would be the point of the whole thing?
-
I remember Football Outsiders ranking Jason David below "hole in zone" in their CB rankings.
-
How good is your OL? And how is Brees so damn good when Colston is (I think) the only skill player that's a real weapon? I'm sure glad Miami chose Culpepper over him a few years ago.
-
Ask for a reach-around. That's ridiculous.

Well sure glad I didn't take +3. Epic fail by Dan Henning running on 3rd&6 when the game was tied, like a 3 pt lead is safe against Manning with 4 minutes left. Did he think Jamarcus Russell was the Colts QB? Oh well, kind of awesome to see Dallas & Miami dominate and lose.

BuffOrange replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The difference between 10 and 13 in general, is much greater than you and a lot of people think for much the same reason a 4pt lead is a lot better than 3. The problem with kicking there is that you're giving up ~25 yards of field position merely by kicking off after the FG (as opposed to potentially not converting the 4th down deep in their territory) which basically negates the difference between the opponent needing a FG and a TD to begin with. So yah, the FG was really really stupid. Not that I'd expect anything else from our clown of a coach. -
Didn't really have a rooting interest for most of the game; but yah it was pretty awesome seeing Dallas lose in that fashion after all the hype. Romo epic fail for my fantasy team though.

Our beloved James Lofton is really bad on the radio. Why do ex-player announcers think the clock is the enemy of the offense when they're on the 40 with 1:30 with 2 time outs only needing a FG?
