  1. I don't understand why everyone is saying this. He was suspended, not injured. How is this week different than week 1 for everyone else? Besides, RB is the one position where rest trumps rust. He might very well only get 12 carries because Jackson has earned the other 12 though.
  2. I don't know if I hate him, but he is without question a massively overrated coach. OMG yes! Thought I was the only person who remembers that.
  3. I'd like to see some evidence that kick returns involve a higher risk of injury than other plays. Seems like an internet myth based on Jason Seahorn in the preaseaon like 10 years ago.
  4. Funny how nobody who credits Dungy with that SB ever credits Gruden for Oakland making the SB one year after he left. That Bucs offense did play above their talent level that whole postseason. They killed SF, and scored 20 pts in Philly for the first time in a gazillion visits with Brad Johnson and no running game.
  5. OK article. My only problem is that he acknowledges other media members took "stories" like TO's Vick comments and blew them out of proportion; but then he goes on to pretend like the same thing wouldn't have happened had he elaborated on anything about the offense as Lee did.
  6. 4th Qtr = Fail x3. Week 4 NE -1 vs. B'more - Vegas officially caught on to the Ravens (not sure they ever did last yr). Don't think they're going undefeated. Also I still haven't found a "this year's Baltimore/Tennessee that I like KC +9 vs. NYG - Strictly a gut pick tbh. Worked for me last yr with the same line in the same building against Denver. Plus it's the 3rd straight road game for the Gmen and they're banged up. NYJ +7 @NO - Did you think last week was more the Saints D or the Bills O? Yah me too. SF -9.5 vs. STL - Being a Steven Jackson fantasy owner the last few yrs I've noticed he does better at home; mostly because his awful team is behind 21-0 in every road game. So what the hell, no Gore, no problem. Impressive showing by the 9ers @Minny last week I thought. Denver +3 vs. Dallas - Meh I just don't get why this isn't a pick 'em. San Diego +6.5 @ Pittsburgh - Steelers don't run well enough to exploit the loss of Williams. They also stop the run too well for LT2's status to really matter. So not a bad matchup for the Chargers. I don't think. Last Week: 0-3 YTD: 5-8
  7. Quoted for hilarity. Onside kick is 20% recovery rate for kicking team? 4th&1 is 75%? Yah same thing imo.
  8. Yes, some fans complain based on the result using hindsight. I wish they would all jump off a cliff so that reasonable fans weren't all lumped in with them. Don't include everyone in that group. It's extremely patronizing and makes you sound like a coach. I defended that 3rd&1 bomb against Denver on opening day and lots of other stuff that didn't work out so rosey. I also wrote this in last week's thread: If your point is that some fans criticize philosophy based on results then fine, I agree. Jauron is sadly - in that group of clowns with Lewis and Childress who make decisions to largely avoid that irrational criticism, which is at odds with putting his team in the best position to win. Either that or he is just genuinely clueless about basic probabilities. Either way I cannot stand this gutless clown as my football coach anymore. GTFO Dick.
  9. What an epic fail this season is. Totally worth it that I spend hours researching and doing mocks to give myself a .08% edge in these things... Is Nick Folk on Jason Garrett's fantasy team? How about ya know, running once on 2nd&goal from the 1 when you're averaging 87 yards per rush.
  10. Cowherd's whole schtick is being a contrarian. I wouldn't say that's a microcosm of the nationwide view on our QB.
  11. Schopp was 100% correct on this - if we lose 17-7 or 17-14 everyone on espn is blaming TO for this loss (if they're not anyway) and praising Jauron's defense for holding their pt total down. Your 8 minute eternity is 5 minutes if they get one first down and punt it back to us. From there maybe we check our way down the field and make it a 3pt game with a minute left and we lose...but at least the box score would've looked respectable. Kind of fitting that they were able to pile on 10 more pts and make it look like a blowout anyway. Punting requires such a huge parlay of successive events to go in our favor that it's much more of a "gamble" than going for it.
  12. good point - the 4th&4 on the 40 was yet another epic fail.
  13. Why try something that might work when Derek Fine is catching 0 yard outs.
  14. Owner, coach, QB. That'd be a start.
  15. Who cares what the players say. Their opinions are based on"please don't work us hard in practice". Nice 80 yards of offense today. Clearly an upgrade.
  16. Epic fail by a vaginal coach. Again. Not surprised.
  17. You're basing this on what...two wins against two QB's with a combined zero starts after going 2-6 on the road last year? Awesome, another moral victory for Jauron and his special olympics losers.
  18. That never happens in threads like this.
  19. Michigan being ranked is a bigger joke than anything else. How many games are the refs going to give them this year?
  20. If voting were 100% merit, there is no reason BYU shouldn't have been #1 after winning @Oklahoma. Preseason rankings clearly matter in voting which is kinda dumb, but that's college football. It's not a pro-USC conspiracy.
  21. I'd roll with Johnson.
  22. All the JP apologists brought this up with glee ad nauseum a few years ago. Brees is an exception. Just like Brady as a 6th round pick, and Bellichick as a retread coach, there are hundreds of examples of failure for every one of those guys. And lol @ the idea of a guy improving his armstrength after age 25.
  23. Bill Simmons today actually wrote the most convincing case I've seen that they're on the decline. Maybe I'm just like a beaten wife or something but I won't believe it until I see it. Everyone said they were done in September of '06 when they barely beat us opening day and then got smacked around by Denver on nat'l tv with a bunch of journeymen nobody WR's... And 4 months later they had a 21-3 lead in the AFC championship game.
