  1. I doubt playing an extra game matters when you have 19 yr old kids get at worst 4 days off with a billion tv timeouts.
  2. The Colts are probably going to wimp out because that's what they do. It makes the Saints so much easier for me to root for. I hate when people bring up NE's SB loss but neglect all the times Indy has choked their 1st playoff game after taking 3 weeks off - as if championship/undefeated is an either/or. Dungy on the radio Friday - brought up Reich against Houston. He of course neglected to mention that Reich was 3-0 in games that mattered in '89 and won a huge game vs. Miami with the division on the line in '90. The idea that he was ready to play the Oilers because he played garbage minutes vs. the Redskins/Lions in 90/91 season finales is absurd - and only partially because Gail Gilbert played in those games.
  3. Very clever. Too bad that was actually the Eagles and not the Steelers.
  4. I'd go with Ganther too. Smith could salvage a decent output given that he's a good receiving back, but Oakland is too tempting. Shaun Green ran for 140 on them for crying out loud.
  5. Yah I liked Joseph's increased aggression. Or at least I'm cautiously optimistic now instead of highly skeptical. Interesting that Scoop logged most of the PG minutes despite handling the pressure a lot worse than Triche in the 1st half; but I guess he played a lot better in the 2nd. It seems like a good pressure D like Memphis could give us some problems.
  6. I think Uconn is down too, for them anyway. Losing a couple games to good teams is no big deal, but they're just not at their usual talent-level. They can't shoot. Dyson/Robinson/Walker is a solid trio but it's not Final 8 caliber imo. To me it's a 3 horse race.
  7. gotta love playing "the hindsight card" when I was calling them out before the season, but hey whatever.
  8. Bump #2 lolz I didn't think they played particularly well tonight, Florida made a million NBA 3's, and yet it's a 12 pt road win. Unreal. My only question now would be, is there a "2nd best player on a championship team" on the roster? I'm not really sure about that, but the team has mucho balance.
  9. Have you ever once not made excuses for anything ever?
  10. Yeah he is impossible to trash for those reasons. But he also needs certain pieces around him (which we don't have) to succeed and doesn't make plays on his own. Basically the complete opposite of a good fit for our particular team in a windy stadium to boot.
  11. JP Losman played a full season as the 11th rated passer. I wouldn't be so quick to declare Denver the victor in that trade. Pennington is done. What is this like 18 shoulder injuries? Seems like a smart guy who could be a good coach though. Campbell to me is sort of interesting, although he has more Trent-like characteristics than I would like.
  12. I thought they were an average team whose division allowed them to luck into home playoff games they didn't deserve last year, and then they happened to play a good SB game. They are definitely better than last year because of their defense and they certainly have a puncher's chance to spring an upset in round 2 - it's not like Warner is going to be intimidated going into NO/Minny.
  13. Thank you. The idea that the Jets & Panthers didn't give away games as much or more than any games we've given away is, well pretty typical of fans, but also very wrong.
  14. I'm with ya. Don't see a reason to watch another Fitzpatrick/Edwards game this year.
  15. Yah it's possible but the Giants & Eagles also have touch sched's and I think the Chargers are sort of smoke&mirrors; I would say 2-2. If one of those wins is Philly they could still end up winning the division.
  16. Anyone else hoping Dallas wins a playoff game this year so that they keep Wade?
  17. Unbelievable. The Saints were like a 1% shot to win before the Skins botched the chipshot FG. win prob
  18. Skins offense looking good. Gregg Williams must've not emphasized turnovers this week (because every announcer/analyst says that's why their defense is better). On a serious note, Football Outsiders has said that Campbell is a decent QB in an awful situation. They might be right.
  19. Bama definitely deserves to be favored, but unfortunately the sports anti-Gods don't work that way so Texas will probably luckbox their way to another win. See Tennessee in '98 who upset FSU after the SEC refs gave them a phantom 4th down interference flag for the win in Syracuse. Also lol @ Texas getting 1st place votes from the coaches. They've clearly been more impressive than Bama against a tougher schedule...nice job Big XII homers.
  20. This is true. Preseason polls FTW. College football is so lame.
  21. McCoy is an idiot - I hope we go nowhere near him. lol @ Mack Brown's pathetic postgame comments: "we knew there was a second left". Right Mack - there's tons of precedent for reviewing the final second when the ball hits the ground:
  22. The points about not watching GB preseason games and having blind hope are both true. Not sure the 'stupid' part is true given our two alternatives who have a 0% chance of being good along with a 0% shot at the playoffs this year. I'm not going to say Brohm can't be worse, because he could be. I doubt he has the playbook down pat. Yet I cannot think of a single good reason not to start him in KC next week. You can tell me why that's stupid.
  23. Who cares? Better "this place" go crazy and be wrong than go crazy and be right. Unfortunately this place in addition to being wrong about not going crazy about Lynch/Revis - was also right about going crazy over the Whitner-Ngata disaster. That means the actual people in charge of our football team are wrong an awful lot. Lets not worry about that and continue arguing semantics about consensus TBD opinions though.... Who cares about the Jets draft record?
  24. Looks like they're on the Monday Versus game for the next month.
