They're supposed to say he played great?

That was a bonehead FG attempt. A 16pt game should not be thought of as a 2 possession game despite what every idiot announcer says.

I think McGahee sucks but these posts are as terrible as the refs. Pretty clear he was in during live action.

As one of the biggest Roscoe fans on here even I find this ridiculous.

National Championship - Alabama vs Texas

Definitely came off better than his ridiculous "I knew there was a second left" garbage after the Nebraska game. -
John Clayton says keep on eye on the Schottenheimers

I respect Clayton more than Chris "Shannahan to KC" Mortenson. -
Anyone got tonight's Syracuse hoops score?
BuffOrange replied to Lori's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yah Knight was spot on with his "missed points" analysis. Were terrible around the rim against Pitt too - which contrary to all the talk in the Sub-Standard about them dissecting the zone - was the biggest factor in the loss. I mean they shot a million FT's because we had to press with 12 minutes left down 11 because we were on pace to score about 50 points. That's an offense problem, not a zone problem. I thought watching the Florida game Jackson was too passive in not trying to dunk, but it's harder to say anything when he makes everything and has a career game. Joeseph continues to impress... Boeheim's postgame presser was pretty funny. In other news, Kansas lucky to escape the Big Red at home. -
Sounds a lot like Gregg Williams. I can't get the '06 game out of my head when he punted here on the 35 on 4th&2; which incidentally also sounds like Gregg Williams.

The Dallas Cowboys and Wade Phillips.

The "replacing a good coach makes your life easier" theory hasn't worked out for most guys unless there's a HOF QB in place (Seifert/Switzer). I mean he had that in Denver but he was given what 2 years there? Besides, people nationally talk about the guy like he's a bottom 5-10 coach, so if he's even average then yah he's underrated. -
This year's Chargers are the worst really good team I've seen in a while. Tomlinson is finished, Merriman is half of what he was, they're not good against the run without Jamaal Williams....Rivers has just been awesome. I might say Turner is coach of the year if I had a vote, which sounds crazy. They're not the same mega-talented team they were in '06. They'll be favored vs. NE, but I'd be shocked to see a blowout.

I used to like him, but the cheerleading schtick has worn on me. I'm glad they're in the playoffs though - less competition for a coach. -
Well neither of those teams are good enough to slaughter NE. I'd rather see them lose at home.

I hope the Jets lose for two reasons...
BuffOrange replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The way I see it NE winning @ SD or Indy in the 2nd round is an upset that could easily happen and cost Cincy homefield in a championship game. Seems kinda dumb to mail this game in, but course they will anyway. -

I hope you're right. So much awfulness. Couldn't make a shot and couldn't get a call at home against a crappy team. So much for the #1 seed talk. Can the Eminem...err Devo relatives please stop? We were a bubble team every year with that turnover machine punk. No doubt we'd be #1 in the country with him though. -
Schopp just admits that it's personal with the Bills
BuffOrange replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's always interesting how people hear what they want to hear. Maybe they would be less negative if the Bills didn't always suck? He didn't rip the Nix hiring like a lot of people here are doing. -
Marty Schottenheimer Isn't Coming
BuffOrange replied to bills_red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He also went on national tv and said "I would never work for a guy like Snyder" when he worked for espn. Guess who was coaching the Redskins a few months later? -
<yawn> so the Jets get another gift-wrapped game for a team that's going to lay down? Great. At least there's the opportunity to bet against Sanchise in a road playoff game..
-
I didn't think they'd lay down this year since it's the first time they've been in position to be perfect. Boy was I wrong. What a bunch of spineless cowards. They deserve to lose their first playoff game.

Yah, and internet poster is one thing Kiper is not. Internet poster looks at Kiper's board and then tweaks it because to them, his 4th ranked WR was more impressive than the 3rd in the 1-2 college games they've seen. But there is something to be said for compiling that board in the first place and have it resemble the actual draft as much as he does. Nobody would've heard of most of these linemen if it weren't for guys like Kiper, but that doesn't stop internet poster from pretending like they know anything about a lineman from BC. If they didn't have Kiper's board to fall back on as a reference, internet poster would've had Mike Hart as a 1st round pick.

Yes. The talent was better, the storylines more compelling. And vastly superior announcing as well. Bobby Heenan was the greatest.

So who do we love and who do we hate?
BuffOrange replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whitner sucks. Not living up to #8 is one thing. Failing to be 1 of the 2 best safties on the team is quite another. I am convinced that anyone defending him at this point is the equivalent of a blind left/right political junkie who will never admit they were wrong ever no matter how much proof to the contrary. -
I didn't see that play, but it's funny that I thought the same thing happened on the Jackson TD false start. I guess TV sound can be deceiving, but I didn't hear a whistle (nor did the players apparently) until Jackson was in the endzone - despite the fact that the NE defender was "drawn off" a good 2 seconds before the ball was snapped. I wouldn't put it past the Pats to jump offsides on purpose in that situation to risk 1 yard vs. 5 when they couldn't stop the run. But yah we suck, wouldn't have mattered, etc.

Listening To Thurman On WGR Right Now
BuffOrange replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are a lot of dumb rumors/soundbites that get posted here but I heard this too and definitely think it's thread-worthy. Unlike the usual gibberish you hear in former player interviews, he was absolutely talking in such a way that would indicate he knows something. However when Bulldog pressed him on it, I was disappointed to hear him say that Shannahan is still a possibility, when in fact Shanny being the next coach of the Redskins is the worst kept secret in the world. So to me it is clear that: 1) Thurman does have some inside connections and has an idea of the general plan in place at OBD. 2) He does not know (nor do the Bills most likely) the specific coach this plan entails. I can only conclude from this that he knows of either: A) an upcoming hire of a respected GM B) a feel-good story involving guys from the Glory Days designed to make the fans temporarily feel good (aka Marv all over again). We can only hope that 'A' is correct. -

BuffOrange replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Same old same old. We hate the haters and the evil media who dare find fault in wins against bad teams who gift wrap games. And we love blaming coaches for a terrible roster after losses.
