You do realize today is Saturday right?

Why would it? He pitched 1 inning and it was his throwing day.

Ha, you must've googled the same site as me. I can verify that absolutely works like a charm. -
I feel like going with Halladay tonight hurts their chances in Game 5 more than it helps tonight. Are you beating Lincecum with Blanton or Oswalt on short rest? Probably not. Blanton can win tonight though. Get er done Joe.

Utley has had a down year, but he's been hurt. And he's not making $125mill at a relatively unimportant position where players don't last as long (1st basemen are like Running Backs); and he's not a strikeout machine who is useless against lefty pitching.
-
Thanks for telling us you need to score to win They did have a million injuries this year and for however overrated their offense may have been, was still better than the Giants. Still think they take the series if they win the next game - granted a big if given how much they struggle vs. lefties. My God that contract they gave Howard was terrible.

How do you people in Buffalo support WGR 550?
BuffOrange replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, the hosts in New England can talk about whether their defense is good enough to win a SB, whether the offense is explosive enough sans Moss, the upcoming schedule, and the Jets schedule, and figure out what needs to happen to win the division and get a 1st round bye. What is Buffalo supposed to talk about? "We need better players". "We need better coaches". "But our owner is a senile 92yr old". "But when he dies the team might move". What else is there to say? I'm sorry but discussing which defensive scheme to run with this team is just minutia given the bigger picture of problems. There's just not much to talk about until April when hopefully we find a savior for a QB. -
James Harrison: "I don't care if I hurt players"

This is the same guy who complained that the only reason he was invited to the White House was because they run the Super Bowl. What do you expect? Not the brightest bulb. -

Like <1% of listeners of any show are callers? I'd say most people who are willing to be put on hold for an hour for 30 seconds of airtime are rather dumb. -
Good point - I agree.

Haha that's so true. I loved how after the Packers-Vikings Monday night game last year the light finally went off as Howard spent the whole morning saying "ya know, a QB can still make plays when he's being rushed as Rodgers did last night". Gee Howard it took you forty or fifty something years to figure that out - was that the first non-Bills game you watched? I like Schopp & Bulldog though. Their callers are usually that dumb. -
Next Week: Baltimore 34, Bills 3
BuffOrange replied to box0life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let me just say that every time the Bills are in the dumps and people expect a curb stomping, they seem to rise up and play a competitive game. Everyone is counting this team out and calling them the worst in the league and I'm sure they're sick of it... Ravens - 31 Bills - 6 -
now THIS is how you should have used Lynch, Chan
BuffOrange replied to tennesseeboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So did I and a lot of people. That's not I'm talking about. I'm talking about how you felt about him after watching a dreadful year of offense in 2003 and an 0-4 start in 2004 (including a couple Travis Henry blunders that severely cost us vs. the Patriots) followed by a 20yd 4th down TD run vs. the Jets and a string of wins when Willis started playing. You couldn't convince anyone here that was a coincidence at the time. That's just how fans are. -

So what? Fans always love the high profile newcomer. Remember how we felt about McGahee when we won the first 4-5 games he started? -
Obviously it is unlikely to happen. Trades in the NFL always are. Not sure it's in the Peyton pipe-dream category given that he's not their starter. And it's definitely not more unlikely than trying to figure out phantom ways we can be a winning team with the current roster if only we had better schemes. I don't see how stating our players aren't good enough is "trying to be smarter than another poster". The guy who always blames our coordinators and playcalling sort of is though, imo.

Again though, unless you can quote somebody in particular who you know flip-flopped, why bother? There is a good chance those of us who like Kolb were not the same knee-jerk mouth-breathers in Philly and on ESPN thinking that Kolb was garbage after a bad half and Vick was a stud after two good games against Detroit & Jacksonville. Houston's version of a "Rob Johnson signing" worked out pretty well for them btw. It's not like college QB's have a wealth of experience in the league. Those that do are usually only available because they're not good.

Yah, but so what? When I hear a morning talk show on the radio talk about last night's American Idol or Dancing with the Stars, I've found that changing the channel works better than complaining on TBD.
-
If you want to rip Cowherd there's a million different directions you could go - like his retarded argument that Mark Sanchez is better than Aaron Rodgers. But he is right about this - if baseball or hockey were more popular, him & his colleagues would talk about it more. They don't because they would be out of a job with no ratings. If you want to hear baseball talk, stream WFAN, and WGR for hockey. That's what I do.

I'll take Baltimore for week 7

Will we make a play for Shawne Merriman?
BuffOrange replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean, it's like you're listing names just to list names. Malcolm Floyd, really? The WR core stinks without Jackson - Rivers makes everything happen with their passing game. Philips & Castillo are good but that's 2 players on defense. -
Since Lee doesn't pitch on short rest anyway, I don't know what the big deal is whether he pitches game 1 or 3. Sure it's less likely they get to a game 7, but either way they have to win 2 games where he doesn't pitch.

BuffOrange replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me the most ridiculous part of the hype machine is the ESPN drones who still live in 2006 still think SD is some ultra-talented underachieving team without a healthy Merriman, Jamal Williams, and LT2. Every part of their team is very average at best save for Rivers to Gates. Anyway yah, I want no part of a guy with 2 major knee surgeries. -
I'll take the Giants.
-
It is but I still don't think it's embarrassing as +6 against Dallas topped off with TD's on defense and Special Teams and finding a way to lose.
-
This is exactly what I've been saying. The 3-1 advantage is basically reversed. The only clear edge the Phils had was Lee vs. Burnett in Game 5. This year the Yankees will have a clear edge on the mound in at most 1 game if Blanton gets the ball in Game 4.
