  1. I guess you could try to squeeze something else out of him but I'd ultimately take it. Upper preferable to lower body injury for a RB. Plus Bills OL >>>> Bears OL. And Spiller > Forte probably.
  2. Seriously these comments are almost embarrassing. We were screwed at their place in 1998 and our place in 2001. But there have been twenty games between the teams since then where officiating hasn't really been an issue. If anything we got some breaks last yr with the roughing on Fitz in the endzone and the PI on an int in the other endzone.
  3. I definitely don't see SF as easier than I thought. A lot of the statistical-minded people like those at Football Outsiders expected a significant drop-off from the 49ers, which thus far hasn't happened at all despite last week.
  4. Totally agree. The fact that you: 1) own the Texans D (meaning you probably took defense way too early in your draft) 2) are putting serious thought into how much worse the Jets D is Leads me to believe you overvalue defense enormously. The 49ers are one of the worst fantasy D's so far this yr, at least in my league. Still don't really see the point of that trade. I'm definitely never starting either of those guys over Colston as long as he's healthy.
  5. I've never understood the point of power rankings that don't attempt to inject some sort of opinion, much less complaining about those that do. If you want to just sort by record, that's easy enough to do by looking at the standings.
  6. Yah good point he's like Peppers coming off the edge.
  7. They do not have anything resembling a great pass-rush without Suggs. Not that the Bills pass-rush is some kind of proven commodity either, but I would prefer ours right now. No question we are worse in coverage though.
  8. Maybe that's a coincidence but I'd by lying if I didn't admit that crossed my mind too. GB is maybe the only 'golden' team I sort of like but they have gotten a lot of calls in recent years. Seeing NE get hosed was great. This is a very arbitrary distinction. Bill Leavy (who btw did impact the outcome of that Pittsburgh-Seattle SB) gets a pass because the Packers weren't able to make a game of it in the 4th qtr? Obviously that explains the lack of outrage, but the fact that call didn't decide a game between two fairly even teams is 100% luck and has nothing to do with the refs not being replacements. Obviously a clear int though. Impossible to believe anyone thinks otherwise.
  9. I mean, they haven't owned the division for 10 years because they get full of themselves & read their press-clippings after wins. I just think the notion that Brady is going to throw the ball better because he's mad is ridiculous.
  10. Hard to believe people actually buy into this after all these years.
  11. Djuan Blair. He's missing ACL's?
  12. Amen to that. I'd like to listen to actual football talk on the radio tomorrow but I'm sure it'll be all replacement refs.
  13. Umm did you watch the Ravens last TD drive?
  14. Who is saying he ignores QB? It's obv. fine that he didn't draft McCoy or Clausen for the sake of taking a QB. But to act like discussing our QB's play is off limits because "he's our QB this year, deal with" - GMAFB. Just shut the board down then. Because the 53 man roster is the 53 man roster, the coaching staff is the coaching staff, injuries are injuries, and the schedule is the schedule. Yawn.
  15. ^^ Understatement of the year. If he's done the Jets are done.
  16. How bizzare that our previously crappy QB situation has been mentioned twice to defend Fitz. WTF? If you're a comptroller do you not want your mediocre accountant to improve because he's better than his awful predecessors? Get your panties out of a bunch. "No interceptions" mentioned about a half dozen times too. Good thing the turnover that was 100% his fault wasn't a pick I guess.
  17. Yah I really feel like the Ravens are being a bit overrated this yr...feel like missing Suggs all year will catch up with them eventually. If you don't have any real good pass-rushers I think you need a better qb than Flacco to be an elite team.
  18. Awesome. I did think the refs tried to get Baltimore back in the game when it was 13-0... But oh well. Kinda like how winning a big tournament disqualifies a poker player from ever complaining about bad luck, BB/NE just never has the right to complain about officiating ever after '01-04.
  19. He has his bad moments but I'd take him over 90% of the stiffs on CBS & FOX. Maybe 100% actually.
  20. Of course they can still win, but the margin for error goes from slim to none. Fitz and/or the D needs to play a near perfect game. I understand Choice was fine today, but the difference between a 'good' run that sets up a 1st&goal and a 15yd TD run can be the difference between 3 and 7 points, or the difference between winning and losing.
  21. Would've seen this eventually but thanks. Barnwell is the best NFL writer out there right now imo.
  22. It definitely has not swung yet. Two (or even three when you include an 8-8 Denver team) out of twelve is not much. Seattle was 7-9 when they made it. Several teams that have played in the SB recently have been dead last in rushing... It's hard for Bills fans to believe because we haven't had a QB in so damn long, but for normal franchises it's no harder to find a good QB than it is to be stacked at virtually every other position, which is essentially what SF & Houston have done (not that Schaub isn't pretty good anyway). That said I agree there is more than one way to win and the pendolum will swing back eventually. Those who believe otherwise are kinda like the guys who never thought real estate would stop skyrocketing. Until the Bills find a better QB, the contrarian way is probably the way to go.
  23. Totally agree with this. Bill Barnwell hit the nail on the head with this as well. Much like coaches who don't show emotion on the sidelines - it's kinda just something for mouth-breathers on espn to complain about but they only complain about it when the team loses. It's all just garbage.
  24. Agreed. There's always a huge recency bias with stuff like this. The officiating this week was awful because it's fresh in people's minds. There were a ton of bad calls in week 2 last year too.
  25. Can we just once after a win not have one of these horrible threads calling out people who have been right twelve years and counting? I guess it's just a TBD mandate. Can't imagine how many there will be when this team actually, I don't know, accomplishes something.
