  1. Has anybody noticed the stunning resemblance between "Boggs" and Jeff Garcia?
  2. Horrible slate of games this week - I'm staying away. I do like Oklahoma -7 vs. Texas in the college game. Talk about a mental block; has Texas ever not choked in a big game?
  3. I'd get the DVD, but they show it on TBS/TNT 24 times per week.
  4. A little difficulty? How about more than 10 offensive points once in a while. Too much to ask?
  5. Nice - So is Forth going to get all the minutes at Center, or do they have anyone else? I saw that Dukie V has 5 ACC teams in the top 10 (what a surprise), UNC #1, and 'Cuse #11....what a joke.
  6. Ditto.....I can't wait for the season. Hopefully they'll make another run at the final 4.
  7. Funny - I traded those two guys after the first season of my ESPN franchise; they each had only one year left on their contracts. Fleeced the left side of the Vikings OL in the process.
  8. He said we'd win 10-12 games before the season. He loves the Bills. It was cool in the early 90's when he was the only guy in the national media who stood up for them while everybody else went for the more fashionable "this is Marino's year" Miami pick in the preseason.... But man, are those days long gone. I'm positive Pasquarelli is friends with TD; Mort may be as well. I remember at the end of the 2001 season they were saying how "close this team is to turning the corner"....... The truth is, that awful team 3-13 team 2 1/2 years ago may have been better than it is now. Remember the refs jobbing us against NE in the "helmet out of bounds" game in OT? Or Shaun Bryson rushing for 100+ and winning on the road against a playoff-bound Jets team?
  9. It doesn't matter. Good QB's will be good whether they play their first year or not, bad QB's will be bad either way. But if your team isn't going anywhere, the quicker the better. What's the worse that can happen? A good defensive effort goes to waste because we only score 10 offensive points and lose?
  10. is on Insider now? WTF I'm really starting to hate ESPN. Mortenson I could live with because all he ever does is kiss everyon's butt, but Simmons was my favorite read anywhere. I don't care if they put the whole website on insider and only charge you 50 cents/month, I'm not going to subscribe to that crap.
  11. I'm hoping TD is the source. Maybe not likely, but not impossible. PFW is SOMEWHAT credible, isn't it? I mean it's not like that "pro football talk" crap that posts outlandish rumors every day. The anonymous source who said "we'd sign him tommorow and play him on Sunday" in reference to Milloy last year turned out to be TD, no?
  12. They should've blitzed Wire on every play. What good is he in coverage? Overall though, I agree. Blitz the bad QB's, not the good one's.
  13. This is the best thing I've read about the Bills in about 9 years.
  14. Can anyone think of an example when it took a good DE more than 3 years to develop? Wiley doesn't count b/c he was behind Bruce - these guys we have now are actually getting playing time. You can either rush the passer or you can't. Our guys can't.
  15. Those seem to be the popular picks on ESPN as well. I'll go with Angels over Yanks in the ALCS, and Cards over Braves in NLCS. Houston and Boston just have to show me they can get it done when it matters. Everyone seems to forget that the Sox get swept by Oakland last year if not for some bad umpiring.
  16. They need to give IQ tests to these players before they draft/sign them. Dumbest team in the league.
  17. We could control the clock for 35 minutes and rush for 200 yards and I'm not sure it would matter. As Ron Jaworski says, "points come out of the passing game". This is especially true when your offense is prone to drive-killing penalties/sacks/turnovers. They're just not realistically capable of an efficient 80 yard drive because they eventually shoot themselves in the foot. The offense is not capable of scoring more than 10 points, so all the Jets need is 2 TD's. It's hard to imagine a good QB like Pennington not getting that done at home with our non-existent pass-rush and depleted secondary.
  18. As soon as NE tied it at 17 before the half, I knew we were billsfanone. Really needed a stop there.
  19. Obviously I was exaggerating a bit out of frustration... But why not basically gut the team? Have you not seen our record over the last 4 years? Our core players cannot win, and there's nowhere to go but up.
  20. If you've read any of my posts, you know that I don't disagree - I'm just trying to throw out remote possibilities in an attempt to play devil's advocate with myself.
  21. I'm TRYING to find positives and so far this is what I've come up with.... Tom Donahoe - although he's made mistakes, he is an NFL GM. So lets give him the benifit of the doubt, because he can't possibly be THAT stupid, can he? He couldn't have drafted McGahee without the possibity in mind that he wouldn't play for 2 years, right? Originally this team was supposed to start winning in 2003, but is it possible that after 2002, TD recognized that this team wasn't ready to compete for another 3 years, and started to rebuild all over again? Could that be why he drafted McGahee and traded up for Losman? It's hard to believe this scenerio because of the strides we made in '02, and because all of the pieces seemed to be in place for 2003. I'm probably reaching, but if this is the ONLY possible scenerio in which TD shouldn't be fired.
  22. The Jets have beaten 3 really poor teams? Well, it's a good thing they're playing a juggernaut next week! Does it matter if our D shuts down the Ravens? Can you realistically see our offense scoring a single point against THEIR defense?
  23. The title of this thread says it all. Time to gut this team. Keep Milloy, Spikes, Adams & Williams, McGahee & Evans, Moorman & McGee - that's it. Possibly Clements if the price is right. This would be the perfect time to trade Moulds because we can still get value for him and he'll be past his prime in a couple of years. We can probably get a couple decent OLmen with his salary. Fletcher, Henry, Schobel, and Bledsoe are just losers. By now we all know Wire doesn't belong on a Pop Warner field. It sucks that next season is 11 months away
  24. One more safety comment: I live in Philly, and when the Eagles released their backup safety Clinton Hart, I KNEW we should've went after him. This guy started quite a few games last year (one against us) in place of Brian Dawkins and was an animal - you could hardly notice the dropoff. He would've been a huge upgrade over either Reese or Wire, and would've came relatively cheap; but I think the Chargers picked him up.... One of those low profile FA signings that might be the difference between 2-1 and 0-3, but hey, noboby ever accused TD of being too smart.
  25. Think about what you're saying: "Lets call a spade a spade" followed by 3 paragraphs of cheerleading regarding an 0-3 team. I'd say you're calling a spade a club. We can "play" with the best team in the league? Whoo hoo, that puts us in the same category as Arizona, Houston, Miami, and everybody else. Horrendous calls? No argument there, but that's happened to us virtually every game since 1998. Those calls don't have a magical way of "evening out" as some Fantasy Land people like to say. What makes you think it will change? Why does bad officiating in the past make you feel optimistic for the future? We haven't gotten a significant break from the refs since 1993. 2nd string SS? Who gives a crap? Depth is part of football, and Donahoe is an idiot for drafting him. The Pats rookie DB's had ONE bad game - it was their very first game in Buffalo last year. They were 5th round picks or whatever and they stepped in and played well almost immediately. Meanwhile, our 3rd round pick is in his 3rd season and he looks like he's playing the first preseason game of his rookie year.....pathetic.
