Bledsoe earned a break this week...
BuffOrange replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lets assume that you are right, and that was Bledsoe's best game in over a year. The offense scored 14 points. What does that tell you? Think about that for a minute, seriously. Bad OL or not, it's not the worst in the league (if you disagree then you didn't watch the Browns-Steelers game today). The defense could've played better in the clutch, but they didn't COMPLETELY choke today IMO. They gave up one TD, and the Posey int was clutch because it brought them from on the verge of getting blown out to taking the lead. Also, holding the Jets to a FG at the end was big, because another 1st down and our offense wouldn't have even had a chance at the end. -
Is it a coincidence that the Giants...
BuffOrange replied to HeyNowBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When Warner is healthy - which he wasn't the last couple years - he has a very quick release. In that sense, him and Bledsoe are night and day. People have really bad memories. When he was with the Rams, he could stand in the pocket and deliver a strike in the face of pressure like nobody I'd ever seen since maybe Dan Fouts. That's just a good FA pickup by the Giants, and dare I say, he should still be the QB in St. Louis; Bulger's nice comeback today not withstanding. -
If we can't score on the Jets..
BuffOrange replied to CosmicBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree Look, the awesome Chargers offense has already scored 27 points against the Jags great D. I know it's only one game, but since everyone was throwing it in my face when they shut down Denver, I'm going to do the same. -
We should seriously consider punting on 1st down. Really. I'm not joking. Seriously. No, for real.

Who is going to give up a high draft pick for Henry? The Taco Bell drive-thur who requires their employees to have an IQ of less than 25? Or the European soccer team that likes their players to fall down to try to draw penalties?

This is the first time EVER
BuffOrange replied to BF_in_Indiana's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure what's harder to believe: the inconceivable stupidity a pro team, or the fact that so many people thought we'd win this game. -
Im not impressed with Jerry Grey & Co
BuffOrange replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What did you expect? A depleted secondary and a horrible pass-rush against one of the best OL's in the league. To quote Chris Berman......what could happen? -
Gamblers - How about this teaser???
BuffOrange replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you serious? NE is missing 3 WR's, Miami is a lock with the points. -
I hope this is not the kiss of death
BuffOrange replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Relatively speaking, I think those guys in NYC are fantastic. They may be Giants fans, but they're football fans first and foremost. Here in Philly, there are no football fans - just Eagles fans. The world might as well stop because they're on a bye. -
So what if the Redskins have better WR's than the Chiefs. Redskins offense has been as bad as the Bills so far this year. They also turn the ball over a lot. Go with the Ravens.

If Bledsoe's So Bad, Why Isn't Henry
BuffOrange replied to BilzFanGA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeh, we've all taken shots at Henry, and nobody is saying Drew is the sole reason, just that the offense can't be worse than 10ppg and losing... As for Drew's toughness? I really wonder about that. We know he can take a hit, but the really tough QB's look down the field in the face of a pass-rush, step up and throw when they know they're going to get hit. DB just gives up on the play by ducking his head and doing his patented "standstill 360". -
Ahh, nothing like good old Dolphins/Marino fan syndrome.... "Our team is the greatest; except when we're arguing about QB's, in which case the QB is the whole team and the rest of the team sucks".... Marcus Pollard? He's an average TE on any other team. Reggie Wayne was a nobody prior to last year, and Manning was pretty good before that. Not that I'm disputing that the Colts have more weapons, but I picked the Pats to win that game last year because regardless of QB's - good defense, great coach, good special teams, decent offense, referees, and home field beats a great offense, bad defense, choke coach, and mediocre special teams.
-
Exactly - you know, these pro-Drew people are starting to sound dangerously like the Frutie Flakes of a few years ago.....blame the defense for allowing the go-ahead score when the offense scores one TD. Or blame everyone else on the offense. I mean, Henry didn't go the wrong way on EVERY play last week, did he? So what's the excuse for scoring only 10 points the ENTIRE GAME? It's great that he led a rally against an expansion team 2 years ago, but really, who cares. And really, how can you take any stat seriously that involves Jake Plummer at the top of the list? The success of that "comeback" stat is generally attributed to one of two things: Either you played like crap for the first 3 Qtr's, or you play on a team that has a bad defense. In Manning's case, it's bad defense. In Plummer's case, it's a little of both, but mostly playing like crap for 3 Qtr's. In Drew's case, well....he's had a pretty good defense his entire career with the exceptions of 2002 and his rookie year.
-
For all the picks Manning threw in that title game, what did the Pats offense do? Score 1 TD and throw a pick in the endzone when a score would've put the game away? When you factor in the fact that the Pats defense is about 10 times better than the Colts, I don't know how anybody thinks the the result wouldn't have been the same had the QB's switched teams.
-
Yeh, well, I wasn't just referring to the playcalling in today's game. It's pretty well common knowledge that the guy is just a figurehead down there. I mean, just look at the guy, and listen to him talk. Can anybody actually picture him in the film room figuring out X's and O's? Remember the PAT kick vs. Miami a couple years ago when they were up 12 in the 4th Qtr? Was he worried Miami was going to score a TD and 2 FG's in 10 minutes?
-
Well, it was nice to seem them put up a fight anyway. People can/will complain about the playcalling, the game management, and everything else, but really, I don't think Pasqualoni is that bad in those areas. Bobby Bowden is a few fries short of a Happy Meal himself. The bottom line is Cuse has no players - and that of course is on the coaches' inability to recruit. College ball is all about talent. I mean, they tried running, throwing screens, throwing deep, trick plays....there's just not much you can do when there's 3 defenders in the backfield on every play.

I'm so sick of these lousy Big 10 games every week. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: Ohio St, Penn St, and Michigan Show USC-Cal damnit

If we could just beat the Jets Sunday...we are OK!
BuffOrange replied to Rudyc80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Heap will be back for that game. Regardless, I don't see our offense scoring in that one. -
Sports Guy's remark on the Bills
BuffOrange replied to Indy Dave's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Clearly, nobody outside of Buffalo does. I don't really either. The only time I bring it up is when the local Eagle fans start talking junk :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: -
OT: Stern moving to Sirius Satellite EXCLUSIVELY
BuffOrange replied to John Adams's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Nice".... It took me a while to realize "John the Stutterer" and "Stuttering John" are two different people. Certain characters on that show are like Ralph Wilgam from the Simpsons.....anything they say is funny. -
True - we are talking about drugs though - what's worse than that? He would've been better off being involved in a murder like another Lewis on Baltimore, in which case, there is no suspension.
-
Speaking of the Steelers, why does the local Philly station have to show that team every week? Why? Seriously, why? How does that make sense? The two cities are only separated by, uhh, 7 FREAKING HOURS.
-
I didn't want to start a new thread on this, but I thought this was an interesting quote from Henry in the Buff. news: "We've always gone into that game intent on running the football. Hopefully we'll have the same game plan and the same outcome." Uhh, you mean the same outcome as in Buffalo last year, right? We've gotten scorched in every recent trip to NJ. Notice when the Pats were in the same situation last week, all they talked about was the last game in Buffalo, not the most recent meeting at home. Our division record lately has been a joke, but by the way the Bills and their opponents talk, you would think otherwise. This team needs a meaner attitude.
-
Also, our offense has consistently scored 1's and 0's. 10 10 10 I guess that's not as strange since they suck.

Shawshank Redemption coming to theaters
BuffOrange replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Office Space, Swingers, and Rounders come to mind as well - 3 of my favorites. I don't even remember any of them in the theaters.
