What about Steve Buerline and Steve "I got you babe" Bono?

Not as many as Frank Reich though.

Needless to say......I think it might get

The Bills are going to win this game. Granted, that will accomplish nothing other than prolong the misery as Deadsoe lays another egg the following week vs. a bad Seattle defense.... But, this is my first positive gut feeling of the season; and I've had it about this game since August - much like the Redskins game last year. -
Did anyone see the Brilliant HB Option
BuffOrange replied to taterhill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, that was an incredibly dumb call. Dumber than the Henry pass in Miami last year, because the Bills offense hadn't shown anything in that game. The Jets were ahead 14-0 and running the ball well. Also, Baltimore has a terrible offense so Boeller wasn't going to beat them if they fell behind 17-0. -
Between Reese, McGee, and our sorry DE's, (some might want to throw Posey into that mix) that's 4 or 5 starting positions out of 11 that just aren't very good. I think Gray has done a fine job this year.

I agree with the original poster. Look at the guy's record, and his playoff record in particular. 1993 they were 3-13. They were a bad team and he was a rookie, so give him a break. 1994 they played Cleveland in the 1st round and lost to.....Bill Bellichek. Lost 13-3. Zero offensive production despite Parcells helping him. 1995 they finish 6-10. Decent year, bad defense. Again we'll give him a break. 1996 - his most glorious season. His best postseason performance in a 28-3 rout over Pittsburgh. Even then, he threw for less than 200 as Curtis Martin did most of the work. Title game vs. Jacksonville they're clinging to a 13-6 lead in the 4th Qtr until a defensive TD ices the game for NE. 20-6 win. SB vs. GB he sets the record for int's. 1997 they beat Miami in a defensive struggle thanks again to a defensive TD. 2nd round they lose to Pittsburgh 7-6. Zero offensive TD's on the road. Sound familiar? 1998 the refs give them a playoff spot and they lose to Jacksonville in the 1st round. 1999 and 2000 - Horrible seasons. You know what happened in 2001. At any point in his NE career, did you ever go into a Bills-Pats game thinking: "Man, I don't know if we can stop this guy"? I honestly never did. 3000 fans welcomed him w/ open arms because the Midget/RJ fiasco had torn apart the city. Dan Fouts? You've got to be kidding me. What an insult to Fouts. If he had half the supporting cast of Curtis Martin and Parcells&Bellichek coached defenses, he'd have done more than make it to 1 SB and lose. His performance at Miami in the "Winslow game" alone dwarfs anything Drew has ever done in a big game.

Yeh but he bounced back in the playoff rematch vs. the Steelers that year.... Oh wait - no - they scored zero TD's and lost 7-6

I'm glad to see reality has set in for most

I agree. RJ at least put us in a position to win a road game once in a while. 2001 was an all-around disaster (no different than 2003 or 2004 mind you) but in 2000 he played really well vs. the Chiefs, Bucs & Jets all on the road. We lost most of those games because our special teams were a joke; but if RJ had the same special teams Drew currently has, I honestly think he'd give us a better chance to win. They both are dumb as rocks with good arms and take too many sacks; at least RJ could run once in a while and didn't throw as many picks. -
Agreed....I remember going to school after the SB losses proudly sporting my Bills T-shirts. Today I am just embarassed to be a Bills fan. This organization has gone from a professional, overachieving blue-collar, classic uniform-wearing winners to selfish, overpaid, underachieving, gay uniform-wearing prima donna losers. Thanks TD - you suck. Please, fire yourself.

For some reason that cracked me up -
You're kidding right? It's their fault they were on the field for so long. Those FG drives were 80 and 90 yards. Make a play and get off the field.
-
Agreed - precisely why I advocated making DE a priority in the offseason. You know your offense is more than one or two players away when you fail to score a TD in 7 out of 16 games. So why not try to get a dominating defense? That was our only chance to win this year. Obviously, you cannot be dominant when 4 out of 11 starters suck.

How could I have possibly thought
BuffOrange replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On the bright side, at least the Jacksonville game doesn't hurt as much anymore. -
Are we EVER going to close the gap on these guys? It just gets wider and wider every year. At least the sorry 2001 team could compete with this team.
-
FG would've been stupid. The punt was also stupid. 4th & 4 from the 34 you have to go for it. Especially when you're trying to make a statement as a big underdog on the road. I bet my left arm TMQ brings up the "fraidy cat" call too.

I've seen enough, folks, time for bed
BuffOrange replied to Greg de'Ville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aaron Schobel is a joke - how anybody insists on arguing otherwise at this point is beyond me. His stats have always been a fraud. If he was a baseball player, he'd hit 25 of his 30 home runs in 10 run games in the 8th inning. Lets give Izelle Reese a multi-million $ contract extension while we're at it. -
Well, it didn't take long for the refs to f*** us
BuffOrange replied to Ralonzo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You think they'd at least be a little more subtle about it. Couldn't wait until after the kickoff? -
(OT) College football...So OU wins out...

I don't think the defending champions should be punished because their conference hasn't gotten as greedy (yet) by playing a dumb conf. championship. This year, that extra game is hardly a disadvantage for Oklahoma given that Rutgers is probably better than any team from the Big 12 North. While the Pac 10 certainly is not a deep conference, California IMO is better than Texas, or any other Big 12 team outside of Oklahoma. The SEC is nasty so Auburn as to be in the title game if they run the table, though I still think there's a decent chance they get upset by either Alabama or Tennessee. -
I'm starting Deuce McAllister and Joe Horn this week. Start whichever RB you think gives you the best chance to score more points than your other RB's, and likewise for your WR's. What if you bench McGahee or Moulds, they have a good game, and the guy you didn't bench does squat? Then you really feel like an idiot. I'm not saying you have to start them both, but the fact that they're on the same team should not have any affect on your decision. In your particular case this week, I would start Portis & McAllister over McGahee. Wayne/Jackson/Moulds is a tough call to pick two of those - your guess is as good as mine. I'd probably go with Wayne & Jackson just because the Bills don't score on the road. Grit your teeth and hope Lee Evans scores all the Bills TD's
-
Go with Green - I was hesitant about starting him last week against a tough Tampa defense; but he put up 360+ yards and 3 TD's. Carr is solid, but his "ceiling" isn't as high - he's good for those 240 yd, 2 TD type of games, which isn't bad, but Green should be able to put up those numbers even if he has a bad game against a terrible Saints D.

Jesus, I'm excited too, but my friggin god.....
BuffOrange replied to CentralVaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Obviously we have no chance at the playoffs, and no we're not yet a "good" team. Anybody who suggests otherwise is indeed a homer. I have a "wait and see" attitude for this week's game. If it's not a game with 5 minutes left w/ all of the injuries on their side, then we're going to have to think twice about how much progress we've really made, but so far the signs are there. The Cardinals although not a good team had not been blown out by anyone. I think it's just good to see some progress, especially under a rookie HC. We're not getting progressively worse as the season goes on like we have the last two years. Those first two losses were horrible and inexcusable, but don't you think we would beat Oakland & Jax at home if we played them right now? re the Evans catch - you're dillusional he clearly got both feet down. The replay itself serves better evidence than what John Murphy thinks. If you want to talk about partisan fans, I haven't heard/seen one of them complain online, on the NY radio stations, or in my personal life (I have access to all three). Either Jets fans are the classiest people on the planet or it was in fact a catch - you decide which is more likely. -
This was in WalMart? Come on dude - she can't be that hot.

Can you bet on the Patriots this week?
