  1. It is pretty bad. Here's a gem from the "game's he's cost us over the years" thread. We needed a TD and weren't close to the endzone with 10 seconds left but damnit, we would've won if not for that playcall
  2. How great is the NFL? Seriously - in what other sport does your team's playoff fate depend on the starting time of a playoff game yet to be played 2 weeks down the road so that a team your team hasn't played this year plays their starters against another team your team hasn't played? And yes, I jumped for joy at the sight of the news from Marc in SD; probably more-so than any play during the Bills-SF game.
  3. Most of them look about right to me. I think that games' a toss-up. Minnesota -6 @ Washington seems a little high though. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/gaming/sheridan.htm
  4. Danny Sheridan has Buffalo -9, Rams -2, and Denver -5.5
  5. And the same can't be said for our last 6 opponents? You're the one that brought up winning % of opponents.
  6. You've got to realize, I'm not suiting up nor am I on the coaching staff. Whether or not I take this game for granted has no effect on the outcome. I took last week for granted and look how that turned out. I'm just making good on my word two weeks ago that the Bengals were the toughest remaining game. I couldn't be less worried about this game. I'm more concerned with the Rams & Colts. For the 2nd time this season (the 1st being the Rams game) I feel the Bills are a lock vs. the spread. You've got to love Steeler fan showing up. If you're going to talk smack before the game, can you please refrain from the "we weren't trying" after you lose? I can already smell the hypocricy from the other side of the state (Philly). BTW - what is the Giants winning %?
  7. Bingo - Plus, after shutting down Fred Taylor, Curtis Martin, and Shaun Alexander this year, excuse me for not shaking in my boots thinking about Duce Staley running on us.
  8. Bulger is playing, and Abraham is not, so that's good news. As good as the Jets D has been, I think Holt & Bruce can get open on their DB's, especially without a strong pass-rush. Throw it early & often (which I'm sure Martz will do), get a lead, and try to take Martin out of the game. I just don't know if the Rams poor defense is capable of exposing Pennington's arm, especially in a dome.
  9. Sunday is always the best "ratings" day for sports. Do CBS/Fox get to pick their Sunday games, and ABC takes the leftovers on Saturday, or how does this work? Dungy said it depends on the Jets. Although NY is obviously the biggest market, I would think CBS would want Indy on Sunday regardless because their offense would draw the biggest ratings nationally.
  10. Why does this have to be one of 2 weeks all season the Eagles host an AFC team That's it - I'm risking the jinx and visiting the local bar which I haven't been to since week 4
  11. As a Head Coach, that may be. Not as an OC. The Rams were the worst franchise in pro sports throughout the 90's pre-Martz. Currently, their talent level is grossly overrated. Outside of Torry Holt, who scares you on that team?
  12. Well, then that is great news, thanks. What is MNQB, ESPN News?
  13. I saw that too, but I think that may just be lip service from Dungy. I remember a week 17 Bucs-Eagles game in 2001 - same exact situation for Dungy where he was going to be playing Philly in a wildcard game - and it basically turned into a preseason game.
  14. Well, 3 1/2 out of 5 ain't bad. I'd sign for those outcomes right now.
  15. Count me in among the Vick critics, but I guess the question is, who do you replace him with? I guess you could argue Favre, Bulger & Delhomme have had better seasons' than Vick, but none of them have had a typical "pro-bowl type" year either. I guess Trent Green is the Buffalo of AFC QB's (getting the shaft) and Vick is the....well, he's the Falcons.
  16. Green & Johnson
  17. Good points - I forgot about Green. He has put up monster numbers, and you can make an argument for him over Brady as well. I don't agree with this notion that Rothlisberger has been carried by his team (because it is basically the same team as last year save from Staley & Lebeau) but I don't see how you can say he's had a better year than Green or Brady.
  18. I can definitely see that IF Denver loses to Tennessee, because they're not losing to the Colts. I do agree the Jets can lose to the Rams though. A healthy Bulger without Abraham chasing him? Holt & Bruce can cut up their secondary with good pass protection; hopefully get an early lead and take Martin out of the game.
  19. Brees & Rothlisburger must mean Brady was left out? Obviously a lot of people from Pittsburgh voted. Manning, Brees, & Brady should've been no-brainers. And then there's Hines "everyone calls me underrated even though I'm in the pro bowl every year" Ward....interesting.
  20. Good post - that actually gets my hopes up a little. But to be fair: - They were up on Detroit 17-3 until two punt returns for TD's in the 4th qtr - The 1st Houston game was 13-6 until a late int td.
  21. I agree - they have sucked. The fact that the 49ers suck so much probably doesn't help though. Unless anybody spent 3 hours watching the first Jags-Texans game in October, I guess there isn't much to talk about.
  22. I remember Cuse used to be unbeatable in Bowl games in the late 80's - early 90's. I believe they beat Ohio St. in the Hall of Fame Bowl and Colorado in the Fiesta Bowl in back-to-back years - that was pretty sweet.
  23. I couldn't disagree more. The Colts are not going to win a "run for the bus" game on the road in Denver. A Texans win would be nice, but as far as this week is concerned, the Titans-Broncos game is everything. I'll take my chances on the final weekend needing either a Jags or Jets loss.
  24. I like Henry, but he definitely lacks 1st round value and he's definitely not a top 10 back. McGahee isn't even top 10 right now. Holmes, Tomlinson, Lewis, Green, Martin, Taylor, Portis, McAllister, James, Alexander are your top 10 and there are others you could put ahead of Henry. It's not a knock on Henry, but the league is stacked with good RB's right now. There just aren't any good teams who are a decent RB away from contending for anything; largely because most teams already have a decent RB on the same level as Henry.
  25. Bingo - that's the first thing I did was look at the starting times of the week 17 games. I thought the Pats-Jets game was a win-win for us (so that the Colts would play hard @ Denver) but nope - we need the Pats to win next week. The more I think about it, this Denver-Tennessee game Christmas night is PIVOTAL. If the Titans win, we have a 50/50 shot at least. If not, our chances are slim. Obviously the Ravens-Steelers game is big too, but I'm not going to worry about that. You have to figure if the Steelers can't win that for us at home then it just wasn't meant to be. I'll take my chances right now needing either a Jax loss @ Oakland or a Jets loss @ St. Louis on the final weekend, which would be the case if the Pats, Ravens, and Titans win next week.
