Everyone on the Minnesota Vikings wagon
BuffOrange replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know if they're on the Vikings wagon as much as the NFC just sucks. If not for a couple of blown calls and a Culpepper fumble at the goaline in the MNF game this year, Minn. could've easily beat Philly in the reg. season game - and that was with TO. I don't think Moss is 100% either in which case the Eagles should win, but I wouldn't be shocked to see another upset. -
That show sucks

Syracuse to name Greg Robinson
BuffOrange replied to JarHeadJim's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You know how fans always trash coaches/players when they leave their team? Well, for what it's worth, it appears Texas fans are sad to see him go. http://forums.hornfans.com/php/wwwthreads/...sb=5&o=0&fpart= http://www.austin360.com/recreation/mboard...662&boardId=170 -
Wegmans named best workplace in U.S.
BuffOrange replied to Mike32282's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha, good stuff. Where is Downington exactly? Allentown is out there a bit. Yeh, Whole Foods is ridiculously overpriced, and Acme just plain sucks. Superfresh is the best of the bunch, but still no Wegmans. -

I'm not sure what to think about this. His KC defense obviously stunk, but based on their dreadful year this season after he left, that clearly had more to do with personnel. I'm not sure Bo Pelini or whatever would've been a better choice. In any case, it's good to see the new administration look around for the best candidates rather than hiring some stiff from within. On another note, how worthless are Syracuse reporters? Nobody EVER found out what happened to Billy Edelin last year; and now a Dallas paper scoops them on THEIR new head coach? -

I'll second that. Two years after leaving Upstate NY and I miss it to death. I can't stand these grocery stores in Philly - they suck. I mean, either be cheap, convenient, have good food, or have good customer service. They fail in all 4 areas. I can't believe people deal with this crap their whole lives. Wegmans isn't dirt cheap, but they get 4 stars in all of the other categories. I've been eating out way too often lately, and I suspect the lack of a Wegmans is a major reason for that. -
Interesting article on Favre's "deification"
BuffOrange replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been driving the "favre has lost a step" bus for a couple years now, but some of you are getting carried away. No, he isn't the player he was in 1996. Still, you can't name 10 QB's today who are better. His aforementioned supporting cast consists of a good OL and Ahmen Green. His WR core for the last several years has been pretty average. Javon Walker finally just had a breakout year this year. Donald Driver would be no better than an average #2 WR on most teams. And of course his defense stinks. -
Go f*ck yourself you gravy training 20/20 hindsight whore.

Al and John please, please, please

This is such bull. Michaels/Madden is the best team out there today. I can't think of one CBS team that is any good. Lets just say their top 2 teams are Nance&Simms and Enberg&Dierdorf. Never mind Criqui&Tasker or Gus Johnson & Brent Jones. Or Randy Cross, who may be the absolute worst in the business. FOX is a little better, but still not very good. I like some of their play-by-play guys (Dick Stockton, Joe Buck) but unfortunately their partners' suck. The ESPN crew gives me a headache. Between Mike Patrick nominating every player into the HOF and Paul McGuire's dumb laugh, and Theisman's worthless conversation with every assistant coach in the league. Seriously, next time ABC does a game try going in with an open mind instead of getting all worked up every time Madden says something redundant. You can tell that he knows football if you can get past his dumb quirks (which I find to be pretty funny most of the time in a "Brady Bunch - that was so dumb it was funny" kind of way). -
After seeing 4 QB's in the wildcard game...

So? His arm holds up well in warm weather too. The point is he doesn't help the offense put up many points, outside of the 2002 Miami snow game. -

Yeah, for some reason there's a legion of people who associate 'mobility' exclusively with Michael Vick. 'Mobile' doesn't necessarily mean running around on every play like a chicken with your head cut off. As for SB QB's, anyone who has been watching football for 10 years knows that Young, Favre, and Elway were all mobile. For the record, I also agree with those who say a quick release and pocket awareness are much more important than mobility. The problem is that unlike Manning & Marino, Drew has none of these things. -

That is an excellent point, actually. -
is anyone else completely unimpressed
BuffOrange replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I completely agree. Madden even brought it up last night - all the fans want to kill their OC, but ultimately the HC is responsible. Their coaching staff singlehandily blew the Ravens game this year. A HB option pass when you're up 14-0 against a team with no offense. Then they burn their final time out near the goaline with 8 seconds left. Like you said - good motivator, but definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and not a real good X's & O's guy either. -
I didn't have a problem with it... Maybe go for the endzone if you're inside the 20, but at the 25-30 a sack/hold takes you out of FG range, and that kicker - rookie or not - had supposedly been money from that range all year. Also, Tomlinson is a stud who averaged over 5 YPC facing 8-9 guys in the box all of last year, so, it wasn't a given that weren't going to pick up another 1st down on the ground. I have to give the Jets credit in this one. I thought their defense was somke&mirrors for most of the season, but they appear to be for real. After rooting against them this week, I will be pulling for them in Pittsburgh next week (which is probably bad news for them).
-
Not surprising coming from him... They should've kicked on 1st down so they would've had 3 more chances!
-
Could this be as bad as Flutie vs. Johnson?
BuffOrange replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed...After about the first month, Palmer began playing better than Kitna ever did. -
This would be the last of the 4 games I'd bet this week. I like the Chargers & Colts laying the points and the Vikings getting points.
-
No, that was Kelly's first game back after his injury in the Giants game. Bob4Bills was correct on all 4 years, although homefield in 93 was not clinched until the final reg. season game @Indy.
-
Well, GB did sweep an 8-8 Vikings team, so if they lost one of those games, the Vikes would've been 9-7 and GB would have a win against a "winning team". The more games you win, the worst your opponents win % is. Having said that, GB stinks, and if the Bills were in the NFC, they would be a more popular SB pick than the Packers currently are.
-
I think Mike Sherman is Tice's equal on the idiot scale. I'll take the Vikings in the upset and the other 3 home teams.

Classic Straw-Man... Is that the only way his apologists can defend him now? You know - making up opposing arguments of "crusaders" which nobody has ever argued before and then trying to counter them? I didn't realize the QB and his loyalists had gotten that desperate. Let me see if I can do that.... "I can't believe 'Drew Nation' thinks we'd go 0-16 with Losman next year and 16-0 with Drew - that's so stupid". Cool, I feel like I aced "Retarded Debating 101". Here's the skinny - I have no clue how good Losman can/will be. All I care about is seeing the Bills win a SB before I die, and after 12 years of observing Drew Bledsoe, I KNOW that no team will ever EVER win with him as the starting QB. We all know he played well his first 1/2 season here (which included the Bears&Vikings games). Unfortunately he's been garbage for his other five 1/2 seasons here. 1/6 is not even good for a baseball player.
-
That record belongs to none other than Drew in his only appearance vs. the Packers

Cool, I'm not the only one right now. I wasn't going to kid myself and make it a New Year's resolution, because I knew I couldn't have made it through Sunday. But when I woke up Monday, I decided 'no more'. Plus, I'm just starting to go back to the gym, and I hate getting schooled in basketball by punks I would normally crush if I could only breathe. But driving home from work yesterday, a smoke was all I could think about. As soon as I got home I dug through my garbage to find the pack I threw out and caved. Still, I've only had 3 since yesterday morning, as a former pack-a-day person. I've heard from most that the "cutting down" theory always fails; has anyone found differently? Please say yes. Also, does your energy level increase after you quit? That would be the greatest incentive for me if it does. I'm really tired of being tired all the time.

When a Big 12 homer admits the SEC is the best conference, then it is "far and away". In addition to Oklahoma getting spanked and Cal not giving 2 craps about their Bowl Game; you conveniently forgot to mention how Oklahoma St. & Texas A&M did in their bowl games. As for Auburn "barely" beating Va Tech, try watching the game instead of reading the box score in the paper. Va Tech gave USC just as good a game earlier this year as they gave Auburn the other night.
