  1. Nobody with a Y chromosome would ever post this
  2. Well, NE didn't HAVE TO be pricks and run in the conversion. I'm glad our players walked off the field. If I remember correctly even Jimmy Johnson criticized the officiating, and he obviously wasn't rooting for us. Bledsoe still to this day, will not admit that game was given to him, which is kind of a joke. Oh yeah, the fact that this game cost us a 4-0 playoff record against Miami REALLY burns me up - and the refs in that game weren't much better. We made a 3rd down stop when we were down 17-14, the Dolphins punter is walking on the field, and the latest phantom flag in NFL history appeared out of nowhere and gave them a new set of downs. They scored and went up by 10.
  3. Cottrell was imaginative? It was a very vanilla defense when he was here. Granted it was very successful with limited talent, but I look at what the Chargers did last year with no talent defensively, and how vastly improved the Jets defense was last year after TC left with the same players outside of Vilma, and I think that our stout D in the late 90's was mostly because of Wade. We have a lot of talent on our defense, but we led the league in takeaways with no real pass-rusher and an offensive minded HC. Hard to give the DC flack when that happens.
  4. I gotta say - I'm not much of a fantasy guy but I'm tired of seeing him get bad-mouthed. Hope he has a monster year. I have a feeling he just might.
  5. I finished your post.
  6. Yeah, best opening day ever. I was watching it in a bar celebrating the shutout. 5 minutes later a guy with a Dolphins jersey was kicking around bar stools. I wanted to rub it in but wasn't drunk enough so I bit my tongue. I have watched the 1990 Bills highlite video ~5,000 times and I remember each game as if it were yesterday. Van Miller's call: "It is thrown out there...and...caught" (in a really soft uninterested voice). Cue color guy: "It's taken away!" Van: "It is taken away! Nate Odomes! He took the ball away from Willie Gault!".
  7. No, it was Willie Gault. I vaguely remember that Raiders game. Went to OT because Norwood missed a PAT...otherwise all I remember is Lofton making a sick TD catch with his shoulder pad all f'd up.
  8. Yeah, that was pretty sweet. The 9ers looked unstoppable up until then and that was the first time we played them at home in like.....ever.
  9. Quite frankly, I may have to kill myself if I ever watch this.
  10. What about GW himself... Remember all of those articles about him being a blue collar guy and his dad never missing a day of work in 30 years....Great, but he was a lousy coach. I have a good feeling about this kid though, even though I can't think of any good football players who use 2 letters for their 1st name who didn't kill somebody. Edit: LC Greenwood - there's one.
  11. Before taking the test, I'm pretty sure this is me.
  12. I'll make my official picks next month. My Bills outlook last August was stunningly accurate. LAMP!
  13. If Dallas doesn't win some games this year or next, you have to wonder if Belichek was the brains behind all of Tuna's previous teams. Maybe the same is true for Weis & Romeo, but I doubt it. Everyone is itching to say "I told you so" if they don't win it again, which is a bit ridiculous since nobody has ever won 4 in 5 years.
  14. Any other year? I've usually defended Henry here when people have dogged him, but c'mon. It could be last year, 2 years ago, or next year, it doesn't matter....Travis Henry is nothing better than an average starting RB at best. FWIW, the talk out of Philly is that the Eagles might have to take an even lower pick if they're going to trade TO. When you don't have leverage you don't have leverage. I agree that a 3rd round pick is nothing to cream your pants over, but you really couldn't have expected anything more given the circumstances.
  15. I completely agree with you on this one. I've read about 4 posts on this and find it to be an absurd theory. I could explain further, but if you've been following the NFL for the last 10 years..... Lets just say TD didn't chose his trade partner based on last year's wildcard picture. It's not quite as dumb as the theory of "The Bills drafted McGahee because they saw that he was on the phone" but it's pretty dumb. Who cares about wild cards anyway? Win the division.
  16. I don't understand why you TD apologists have to make everything so black & white. You want to draw battle lines like we're pro wrestlers: "You're either a Face or a Heel on every topic". I happen to think there is too much TD worship on this board because our record during his tenure sucks, and that's ultimately how a GM gets graded. He hired a clueless stiff for a Head Coach and traded for a crappy QB. Doesn't mean that the guy can do nothing right or that I have a problem with the way the whole Henry thing went down.
  17. Punter isn't a bad choice. Unless Bledsoe's on your team, in which case you're underpaid for the amount of work you do.
  18. Just reading this makes me angry, and I wasn't even alive then
  19. Uhhh... Mods please delete post. I think I'm gonna write up a bad review for that book on Amazon. Everyone stay away
  20. The vast majority of LL players also slowplay way too much, which contributes to a lot of the river suckouts. I mean, when you flop trip 9's that's a good hand but not a monster. If you're smoothcalling that flop instead of raising it like you should you're kinda asking for a suckout - especially when there are 5 other people in the hand.
  21. I've been addicted since football ended. I play $1/2 limit on Party and Paradise, up $1500. The notion that these sites are rigged is pretty ridiculous and generally an excuse for losers (I used to be one of them before I started reading and learning from good players). You see more good hands online because you play way more hands. If you're playing on two 6-man tables you're playing 100 hands/hour. If you go to your local casino you're lucky to play 1/4 as many in the same time span. I played in a home game tourney the other day where 1 guy had 10,9, another had KQ, and I had A10 on a KQJ flop. **** happens in live games too - which anybody who watches the WPT on the Travel channel can attest to. The rake is also much better online. Despite the horrible players at Turning Stone it's pretty much impossible to beat the limit games in the long run when every $10+ pot is raked $3. Hit the books and put the paranoia behind you if you want to get serious about it. I look back at how much I didn't know about the game a year ago and wonder how I didn't lose more $; and I still have a lot to learn. Whoever said "it takes a minute to learn and a lifetime to master" could not have been more correct. PokerTracker is a great program to track the stats of yourself and your opponents FYI.
  22. Yeah, Lovinger on ESPN (who isn't very good usually) quoted something the other day which I think is pretty accurate... Over the course of any given day it's probably 80% luck and 20% skill. Over a year it's 80% skill and 20% luck. Over a "career" it's 99% skill. The "long run" in poker is just a hell of a lot longer than most realize. At any rate I hope the fad never goes away and there's another Moneymaker who lucks out this year so that the online tables attract more dumbasses.
  23. I hope it hurts when they die. A lot.
