  1. I disagree with most of what you said, but since I'm tired of arguing... I just wanted to say that this excerpt is remarkably accurate. Seriously, do we have separate scouts for each position? And if so, can we give the CB scout a raise and fire everyone else?
  2. Nice post. The more I watch the Patriots & Eagles get ravaged by injuries and continue winning every year though, the more crucial I think the QB/Coach combo is. Clearly Bledsoe/GW is a disastrous duo. MM/JP? Like you I like MM and his staff, but even they're inexperienced outside the ST and OL coaches. JP obviously cannot play right now. One thing I question is the timing of the whole QB thing. It seems to me they should've either gotten JP's feet wet last year to get him ready for this season, or since they didn't do that, sign & play a veteran QB to make a run this year. By playing the rook QB in the final year of our defense being in tact, the future just doesn't look all that bright. I honestly don't see the 'glass half full' side of it. IF JP becomes good next year (a huge if) we still have to address OL, DL, and DB if we don't re-sign Nate. Not to mention Adams, Vincent & Milloy aren't getting any younger. Can anybody rationalize a scenerio where this team might be good next year?
  3. I think there's some middle ground between All-Pro and the inability to complete a pass.
  4. Clearly we're copying the 27 year plan - a blueprint established by the Jets from 1970-1997
  5. Maybe JP can petition the league to include PI flags in passing yardage stats. Or better yet, PI flags that are picked up by the ref after the DB complains.
  6. Neither one of them was a 3rd down play after we had them stopped and we couldn't get off the field on 3rd down all day, so there's no reason to think it would've mattered. The no-call intentional grounding was a joke, however.
  7. That really is unbelievable. And the way their defense (not to mention half their OL) is always ravaged by injuries and guys just step up. Remember when Colvin got hurt on opening day 2003 for the rest of the year? Didn't matter...it makes me incredibly jealous. We lose 1 LB to an injury (albeit a very good player) and I get the feeling that's going to be an excuse for our defense all year.
  8. Well you're nuts if you don't think ATL wins that game with Brady or Manning.... But yeah, I became less of an anti-Vick guy and more of a "stats are overrated" guy after today's game. His numbers won't look great in the newspaper, but he clearly helped his team win the football game.
  9. It's all relative I guess. I'm not saying they played 'NFL OL' good. But I think they played 'Buffalo Bills OL' servicable. It's not going to get much better with this group, and I didn't think they played any worse than they did vs. Houston. We lost this game at QB and on defense.
  10. Me not have a good feeling about next week. That crowd is going to be ridiculously jacked up, no? What does that Alamo Dome hold, like 100,000 people?
  11. I'm with you on this one. I think a lot of people are obsessing over the 2 or 3 replays where the announcer pointed out Teague or whoever getting beat in pass protection. Whatever, that happens every game. They opened up some nice running lanes.
  12. That is true. Look at the schedule. Anything less than 5-2 going into that NE game and we have a 0.00% chance of seeing the playoffs. It is true that we don't know if Losman will be a good QB. It's pretty clear that he can't play RIGHT NOW though.
  13. Yah, I say we bring back the wishbone.
  14. Nice flip-flop, you just said they didn't run until the 2nd half. They DIDN'T PUNT until the last possession of the 1st HALF. Obviously "throwing on 1st down early in the game" didn't cause the offense to stall. Before the TD run they threw on 1st & 2nd down - it wasn't like the playcalls suddenly changed. I don't suppose the Kelsay int had anything to do with the 3rd Qtr FG either . They ran the ball in the 4th Qtr and couldn't score. Eventually you have to make plays in the passing game to score in this league. It's not High School where you can run 49 out of 50 plays. I swear some of you guys would rather kill your own mothers before placing any blame on the players. No, every game we've lost since 1960 can be directly attributed to playcalling. God, grow up.
  15. That explains why we scored so many more points in the 2nd half than the 1st, and how McGahee had 80 yards at halftime
  16. Not to mention Couch was the first overall pick, so there's that slight possibility that the organization gave him more chances because they had more invested in him.
  17. The title of your post pretty much says it all. One thing I take issue with though is all of this crying about the coaches & playcalling. I'm sorry but is every game the Bills have ever lost the fault of playcalling? It's a bunch of crap. They established the run, they ran up the middle, outside, they set up play action off of the run, they threw deep, they threw screens, they challenged the right calls, they kick an XP when a lot of idiot coaches would've gone for 2.... THE DAMN QB CANNOT PLAY and that's the bottom line. Nothing needs to be said about the defense other than "overrated". Too bad they don't play half as well as they talk. I'm suring losing Spikes hurt, but the reality is this team has had good luck with injuries since Wade's last year in 2000. I shutter to think how bad we'd be if we had as many guys hurt as NE always seems to have. Another depressing thought is that we won the turnover battle, ran the ball well, and still lost at home by 8 pts, and Atlanta isn't close to being the best team we're going to play this year. Get ready for 5-11....too bad we weren't 5-11 instead of 6-10 or we would've gotten Big Ben.
  18. Would a 9-7 prediction before the start of last season suffice? http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...842entry17842 I'm thinking 7-9 right about now for this team. Starting with the 1st NE game the schedule just gets incredibly brutal. If we go into that game anything less than 5-2 you can forget about playoffs. IMO the season really comes down to winning those 'toss-up' road games - one of which we've alread lost - hopefully we take care of business in places like San Antonio and Oakland.
  19. I dunno, that's what I'm saying. Either way it's messed up.
  20. Why is this a week 2 matchup? Isn't it pretty much a known fact that Buffalo, KC, and GB are the 3 best tailgating venues in the league? Or is this the semifinals?
  21. He used to do low profile college games for ESPN. FWIW, I remember Dr. Z writing an article a few years back talking about how refreshingly good he was. Something about actual insight like predicting a fake punt as opposed to the usual "the Bill really want to stay out of 3rd & long" crap.
  22. I'd rather go to the Meadowlands and embarass the Jets on Monday night in week 3, but I guess stomping Atl will have to do.
  23. The lead has been cut to 13 thank you very much.
  24. And I think they will. Normally I'd never pick against the Pats after a loss, but it's not like it's "just another game" for Pittsburgh, so I don't really think NE has an advantage in the intangibles department.
  25. I'm 2-0, soon to be 3-0 after we beat Atlanta.
