  1. I just saw that the Jets were -2 in turnovers today, plus they missed a couple FG's. Impressive that they were still able to win.
  2. I don't know if the Dolphins are "good" but yeah, I didn't expect much from a makeshift OL vs. a decent defense. I was more discouraged by the non-existent push from our DL against a crappy OL.
  3. I kinda felt the opposite. Cross sucks as a broadcaster, but he was all over the Ronnie Brown fumble, and he thought the Chambers fumble was an incomplete pass (which would've helped Buffalo). Harlan meanwhile, couldn't stop screaming about the Bills getting stuffed on 3 straight possessions early in the 3rd Qtr....1 of which was a throw-away possession at the end of the half, another of which was a 40 yard drive that ended in a punt. As it turned out the Bill offense did suck in the 2nd half, but at that time he was going a little overboard.
  4. Yeah because everyone knew Tampa was going to be good this year, the Jets don't have to go to Carolina & Atlanta, and we don't both get 8 home games
  5. Frankly, the Bills did get beat on both sides of the trenches and Miami did give away the game. How does Jerry Gray decide to blitz Michael Vick but not Guss Forrette? Where the hell is Aaron Schobel and why are we paying him? Absoulutely zilch in the way of a pass rush. Offensively it looked like Holcomb was audabling in the 1st half, but didn't do it as much when the Dolphins were run blitzing with 9 in the box. I'll still take the win. If a team led by such a phenominal coach makes that many dumb mistakes after a bye week that's their problem.
  6. I disagreed with all of the "too much passing" posts previously, and I'll disagree with the "too much running" post today. The OL played WORSE today than they did vs. NO or Atlanta. No run blocking, and no protection. They DID throw on 2nd & short early in the game....which everyone here would be bitching about except they're not because Holcomb was actually able to CONVERT a couple of 3rd downs....Big difference when you can actually move the chains on 3rd & 5.
  7. I don't see how he's worse than Marino or Boomer.
  8. Everytime I read these posts, I wonder what people were doing in 2003. I know it's really digging deep into the archives (all of 2 years ago) - but you know - the failure to score an offensive TD in 7 out of 16 games? With an older, less talented group on offense led by a worse coach competing in a stronger division? Remember that? Does everyone just have amnesia? How could ANYBODY have had hope for that team and not this one?
  9. I heard that too. Dogg picked the exact 3 games I bet my co-worker on - Bills, Eagles & Jets. I like the Bills & Jets but went w/ the Cowboys in the other game. I love home dogs in desparate situations. I'm putting a ton of cash down on the Jags vs. Cincy as well.
  10. You mean like when they have 3rd & inches and 4th & inches near midfield when they're trailing in the 2nd half? Oh wait, they did give him the ball then.
  11. That's because teams drop 8 guys in coverage vs. Indy. It'd be nice if teams did that vs. the Bills, but they don't.
  12. He goes back to JP because the season will be done. Was that supposed to be a trick question?
  13. Actually, Northcutt dropped a perfect 3rd down pass in the final minutes that would've allowed the Browns to take a knee....Kelly was awesome in that game from start to finish, and it's ridiculous to make up things to diminish his performance that day. If you want to say it was only 1 game and Pitt's defense stunk then, fine.
  14. Makes sense to me. The fact that it's not necessarily permanent is important. I understand wanting to develop your young guy, but this is the freaking Dolphins at home....just win the game....whatever it takes. We can always go back to JP and develop him after the inevitable stinkers in Oakland & NE end our season.
  15. He was mostly fired because of 1 play - the infamous A. Reed reverse pass in OT vs. Denver.
  16. Fun being a nit? Delhomme can complete a 3rd & 6 to keep the chains moving. JP can't right now.
  17. It's nice that Delhomme is capable of completing a pass, too.
  18. We were favored by 2.5 in the '95 playoff game vs. Miami. That was a hell of a sucker bet
  19. I could not possibly disagree more. Give me the Bills, Jags, and Jets. The Bills game is like the opposite of the '03 night game in Miami. Everyone was asking "why is Miami favored?" and everyone picked Buffalo, and Drew Bledsoe played like Drew Bledsoe on the road. Don't be shocked if Guss Forrotte plays like Guss Forrotte on the road.
  20. Yeah, but, but but.... We actually tried to THROW the ball last week! WTF? McGahee should have 65 carries every week. The Cottrell thing is funny because it's true. The Jets defense also got remarkably better with the same players after he left.
  21. Yeah, it doesn't really matter and in a perfect world you'd like to have balance, but 2 points: A) I do believe in Jaworski's "points come out of the passing game" motto. B) I thought Deirdorf of all people made a great point during the Jets game yesterday: It's a lot easier for a team that doesn't run well to throw successfully, than it is for a team that doesn't throw well to run successfully. Running to set up the pass is fine as a general theory is fine, but I'm not sure how this pertains to the Bills because right now our passing game isn't even competent enough to play off of the run, as we've seen in the last 2 games. AKC's comment is kinda meaningless to be honest, because it's like saying "other than the Pistons, not many NBA teams have won a championship without Jordan, Duncan, or Shaq on their team lately". If you back say 12 years, the 49ers, Packers, and Bucs were all WCO teams. The Patriots were a non-WCO throw-first team in addition to the Rams. The Cowboys & Broncos had awesome balance, though for the sake of argument and stuborness I'm sure many will insist they were primarily rushing teams - which they may have been - but their ratios were close and neither team relied as heavily on the run as the Rams or Pats did on the pass. The Ravens were obviously a ground team, though their offense had little to do with their championship.
  22. You are correct. Like I've said many times, Scobel is great when we have a 31-10 lead against a 4-win team in the 4th Qtr. Otherwise we have to blitz to pressure the QB, and if the QB we're playing happens to be mobile....it can get ugly as we've seen. Fortunately Guss Forrotte and Vinny Testeverde are on deck.
  23. I think most of the teams everyone's in love with so far is a fraud. Cincy is last year's Seattle IMO. Remember when everyone was raving about the Seahawks defense getting turnovers last September? Then they started to suck when they stopped getting turnovers. They've also played nobody. Indy's D has yet to play a decent offense, which is not to say they don't get home field this year play in the SB; just look at their schedule. Tough to buy into Denver as long as Jake Plummer is there, but 13 pt win in Jacksonville is impressive. Giants lead the league in "# of crappy teams played in their stadium" - which is 3 if you're scoring at home, and their defense isn't that good.
  24. That's true of me as well. I suck at rooting
  25. Lets get this straight: We're currently playing the easiest part of our backloaded schedule with these division home games coming up. NE is playing 1 of the most brutal stretches in league history with 4 of 5 on the road... And IF we get a few breaks these next couple of weeks, we COULD be in 1st place with 10 games remaining? Awesome. I'm pumped.
