  1. Yeah, that rule's only been in place for 7 years
  2. I was a crap call, but so was the Roughing the Passer. Vincent's been in the league how many years and he doesn't know enough to hit the WR after the ball gets tipped?
  3. Hey nice, playfake to the FB. I'm not one to B word about playcalling but where has that been all year?
  4. That's the pathetic part - they've had more injuries than us each of the last 3 years. I cringe to think what it'll be like if they're healthy thru most of next year and we're bitten that badly by the injury bug. I think if you put Bellicheck & Brady on any team in the division - that team wins the division.
  5. I don't really have a contrarian personality, but I tend to agree. I find all the bitching about the playcalling borderline laughable. I mean, do people watch other games not involving Buffalo? It's the players, stupid. The cupboard is just bare - look at the roster objectively - it sucks. MM's game management is clearly a lot better than GW's. As for quitting, we'll see how they handle these last few games, but I didn't see any quit vs. Carolina or Miami (ok I turned off the NE game early - you're a better fan than me if you watched that whole thing). Maybe I'm getting older & thus more patient. Maybe I'm less upset because I had lower expectations for this year than most people here. Or maybe I feel like an idiot for remembering myself say "it doesn't matter who we hire - ANYBODY will be better than Wade". I just know if we plan on firing coaches every 2 years after a bad year under current management, then we might as well start interviewing for 2008.
  6. Eli sucked a lot last year, but not for as long has people here seem to be indicating. He played like 5 games against 5 nasty defenses (Philly, Baltimore, Washington, Pittsburgh) and finished the season strong vs. Dallas. JP has played poorly against bad defenses, and that includes NE who had been giving up 400+ yards against everybody they've played. Palmer caught on pretty quickly last year as well.
  7. I always wondered - is that play the reference point for Chris Berman's ongoing: "The shovel pass NEVER works in the AFC" joke? To be fair though, those Dallas teams were a lot better. That Redskin team I'm not so sure about. I know they won 14 games and Tasker claims they were the best team he'd ever seen, but I don't know if they were that much better than the Giants the previous year. That was actually the only year the 49ers missed out on the playoffs in those years and they were able to play rather pedestrian Falcons/Lions teams in the NFC playoffs.
  8. I dunno about Turner - I think Al Davis took a dive last week by pulling Collins because he didn't want the Jets to get the #1 pick. But yeah - Haslett is not a good coach. I'll be nice and give him a mulligan for this year. But they've been perrenial underachievers since his first season, wasting all kinds of talent on the DL with a defense that somehow manages to give up a ton of points every year. If he has had any say in keeping Brooks as long as he has, that's not good either. They've also been a woefully bad home team under his tenure, even excluding this season.
  9. And you guys are complaining we don't run enough now? Ha
  10. Yah, me too. It's true though - switch coaches in SB XXV and the Bills win by a TD.
  11. Bad analogy. The Redskins sucked for how many consecutive years pre-Gibbs? And if it wasn't for a bogus 2 pt conversion in Tampa and/or the Giants getting 9 home games, they would be in prime position to win the division. As it is they still control their own destiny with a Giants loss vs. KC on Saturday.
  12. Are you kidding? He's ALWAYS had a big mouth. Talked trash after we lost by 20 points.
  13. They're not going to rest their starters for a month going into the playoffs. Not even if they weren't chasing history.
  14. I agree - and I agree with Van that it's something you're born with for the most part.
  15. I agree that fans have a natural tendancy to overreact and start blaming players who aren't the problem at times. But the fact remains that every team - yes even the Cardinals - have SOME good players and this team is really as far away as anybody from a championship save maybe from San Francisco.
  16. The Bills were favored vs. KC.
  17. Lets see - help our friends in KC or lay down for a better draft pick.... That's a tough one - you're going to have to throw in some cash to sweeten the deal I think. Tough game yesterday - I thought you guys got hosed.
  18. You think the Denver/Jacksonville debacles in the playoffs in 98/99 would've been any better with Jay Fiedler running the show?
  19. Josh Reed pwns the Pats.
  20. Yeah, last time we did that it worked out well.
  21. Was it cold that San Antonio dome? Oakland? San Diego? Wait no - I guess they just suck. Horray for consistency.
  22. Where are they every time they bring up 1996 and somebody points out the fact that he sucked ass throughout that entire postseason - and yet it was the best postseason of his career?
  23. Yeah you can throw out his 13 year track record of sucking because of this game right here at home against a crappy defense with help from the refs.
