Now that Adams is gone - Why do we take Ngata?
BuffOrange replied to firstngoal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. I personally would've kept Adams and looked to draft a passrusher at DE. Since they didn't, I don't see them passing up this Ngata guy. -
For me, Moulds jumped the shark...
BuffOrange replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The phrase 'jump the shark' has definitely jumped. -
This is pretty much correct. Unfortunately the introduction of the 6max games has pretty much destroyed the quality of the full table games, but I have been willing to adjust to the world of 6max. The players there are brutal. I play on Party, Stars, and Paradise under the same screename as here. I am sentimental towards Paradise because I started out with $100 there playing .25/.5 which a year later has turned into $4600 playing 3/6 and hopefully 5/10 soon. Their software sucks though and the hand history is a pain. Party has the worst players but the highest rake. I personally have been digging the Stars games recently. None of them are rigged. Anyone who thinks they are is very naive and doesn't understand variance and the short term luck factor that is inevitable in poker. Live games have even worst players than party but the rake is brutal if you're playing low limit cash games and it's frustrating to only play 25 or so hands per hour.

See, that's the thing. They DIDN'T change the rules. The NFL brainwashed everybody (obviously successful in doing so) that they changed the rules after that game because they didn't want people to think they royally screwed up the game by the rules. But all they said was that "X was already a rule, but we're going to start enforcing it next year". WTF? So it's not a rule unless you publically announce that you're going to enforce it in the future? If that's the case then why was the tuck rule enforced in the Oakland game? It is blatant hypocricy on the part of the league and all Patriot fans.

WORST CALL THAT WENT AGAINST SEATTLE?
BuffOrange replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It depends on how you define "worse" I guess. In terms of "undeniably bogus call that had the biggest impact on the game" it was the holding penalty that negated the 1st&goal at the 2 which later resulted in an interception. When you go from likely up 17-14 to down 14-10 with your defense on the field in bad field position (thanks in part to an illegal tackle) that is the mother of all turning points. Almost every other call was a close judgement call - every single one of which suspiciously went in favor of the Steelers - so I'm not going to be a nit about them. But still, that one phantom holding call could've easily been the difference in the game. It would probably be easier to stomach if the Steelers were penalized for anything, ever. -
I thought Jagr may have gotten slashed.
-
Speaking of equations, I kinda like this one: 2 fluke plays + 3 bogus calls = 5th Stealer championship.
-
And Kzoo as usual is on the mark. Wow I mean just wow - that was pathetic. Do the refs count against the Steelers salary cap? I was suprised they overturned the Hasselbeck 'fumble'.

It's funny that we clinched against the Jets every year, always at home too. Sorry I don't have a tape.

How do you all feel about Mel Kiper
BuffOrange replied to PSU_Mouse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the majority of fans who rip Kiper are hypocritical idiots. There's so many people who pretend to know what they're talking about without watching any college games and basically their evaluation of players is based entirely on Kiper's whether they realize it or not. I wouldn't put this Robinson kid in that category - I'd say the same thing if I were him and it was a good jab. But c'mon, I'm pretty sure Matt Millen was a better player than Scott Pioli too. -
http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...21entry588921 I'll definitely take choice A. I stopped caring about the agony involving choice B after the Tampa Super Bowl.

Rooting interest in Super Bowl 40
BuffOrange replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Go Seattle. I rooted for Oakland vs. Tampa even though I didn't like Oakland just because they had already won 3 SB's and I couldn't stand the thought of the Tampa Bay freaking Bucs winning a SB before the Bills. Now that that's over, what do I care if the Sehags win? I hate the Steelers and all their annoying bandwagon fans from the 70's. -
You're just realizing this now?
-
Yeah, the rosey glasses group just loves these straw-man arguments. "OMG please give him a chance! You said he was Ryan Lief! Do you think our OL is good or what? Why do you want to cut him and get him out of the league permanantly and ruin his career!" Of course it's too early to tell and of course everyone will "give him a chance". If he works out, great. If he doesn't, oh crap we screwed up again. It's just that right now based on the information we have it's tough to say he has better than a 50/50 shot of being the real deal. That is all. Why this point of view is so hard to comprehend I don't know.
-
Exactly. The people who think TD is the worst personnel guy ever are largely the same group of people who will make every excuse in the book for JP. Those two lines of thought don't really mesh well together.

I think we have the tools for the 3/4
BuffOrange replied to DreamOnDan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No -
Agreed - I posted this yesterday. WTF is a few hundred K when you're spending tens of millions on players and you're near the cap limit? It makes no sense to me.

He's also a decent poker player from what I've seen on the travel channel. -
I think they hired the Pats water boy.

Bates Declining Bills DC Job Offer!!
BuffOrange replied to D' men's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't like to rip Ralph, but can somebody explain to me the logic of being cheap with coaches? The salary cap is how many tens of millions of dollars? Obviously we have shown a desire to win by spending close to the limit on players. WTF is another 400K or even a mill for a coach? Can't he raise that much scratch in his sleep? Can't they make that much in a season by raising the price of hot dogs by 50 cents? I never understood this. -
Spell much? B+ by Dolfag standards I suppose. The Bills & Jets were pathetic....they were a play away from losing to both at home and getting swept....Wandsteadt has gone 11-5 with not much better talent and he's supposedly the worst coach ever.

Well it's down to the Bills and Jets for Bates
BuffOrange replied to MadBuffaloDisease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Put her at TE - she's faster than Mark Campbell. -
Yeah - funny that Bellicheck plays Kassel vs. the Fish in a quasi-meaningless game. But the week before in a game of the same importance vs. the Jets, Tom Brady is running QB sneaks with a minute left when the game is over. That tells you something.

OMG somebody has been reading my posts. Miami is 14th on my list of concerns behind the Pats, and about a dozen concerns I have for the Bills.
