  1. Nice - always a thrill to beat the house. I don't miss gambling on the inevitable long-run loser that is blackjack and every other game. Thank God I discovered poker.
  2. This is really all you need to know. $400 to get in that bar? I best get more than a nice view
  3. I'm an anti-soccer guy and I always cheer for the U.S. It just cracks me up that none of our best athletes play the sport and they still beat most of these other countries whose lives revolve around it. The thought of Mexico getting so angry & depressed in 2002 was really enjoyable to me.
  4. Am I the only one who found this hilarious? Named after Jennifer? I always wanted to visit Alabama for some reason...guess I'm weird. The northeast just isn't my style. Where should I move? In the future I'm going to make this a poll and let TBD decide where I move.
  5. For the record: No, you're not the only one hopeless about the upcoming Bills season. Yes, the ticket is still awesome if you're a football fan because getting stuck with Cowboys-Cardinals as the only 4:00 game sucks. No, it's not nearly as expensive as going to the bar every week.
  6. I'm with Darin. I don't understand why every 4 years, soccer fans have to rationalize or justify why it isn't popular in the U.S. I especially can't stand the "you don't understand it" smugness. It's just not an entertaining game to watch, and it's not particularly complicated either. I wish they would just enjoy the game and quietly say F*&^ everyone else like hockey fans.
  7. Sounds good to me. Isn't Rochester like one of the biggest cities without a major pro team?
  8. I thought it was a good episode, and I haven't been a fan of the season in general. I like blood & guts as much as the next guy but I don't need it in the season finale just because it's the season finale. The diner scene where I thought Christopher would get hit was pretty cool. He is actually my favorite character for some reason; somebody mentioned his "woe is me" attitude but I think that holds true for all the guys on the show but somehow I find it more annoying in Paulie & Tony. I mean, Tony and his "this is the thanks I get for not cheating on my wife" speech, rofl are you F-ing serious? Juliana is really hot too - I know she's supposed to be super famous but what has she been in other than ER?
  9. Follow suit with what? I'm not a big KH fan and I'd rather see JP play next year. I just wish JP apologists would stick with the "he was a rookie" point and leave it at that - don't pretend like Holcomb wasn't the much better QB last year.
  10. Man the Colts are officially the early 90's Dolphins - the chick pick for the SB every year.
  11. That is completely unfair. Of course McGee was the MVP of that Bengals game, but Holcomb had 300 yards - none of which were garbage time - and engineered two key scoring drives in the 4th Qtr. Lets not revise history because you're in the JP fanclub.
  12. I don't disagree with you. Frankly, I would prefer to have British accents in all walks of life because they're entertaining as hell.
  13. I don't remember the Davis/Norton play - was that the 1st Dallas game? I definitely agree with the Ingram play in the 1st SB. That was only 1 of about 5 3rd&longs they converted on that drive - the first of which was a screen to Meggett on 3rd&8. Other honerable mentions should be the last 2 minutes of the 1st half of the Titans game - which made me think for the only time in my life that an NFL game was fixed. Also, Kelly in his last year against Miami at home - played a horrible game but was a yard away from the tying TD - got called for the first (and still the only to my knowledge) intentional grounding penalty in NFL history by merely throwing the ball out of the back of the endzone. Of course 1998 "just give it to em" in New England cost us a home playoff game and a subsequent perfect 4-0 playoff record against the fish; and then getting screwed in the actual game in Miami on top of that....awesome. What sticks out most about the Miami game was when we were down 17-14 and Marino is walking off the field after an incomplete 3rd down pass...30 seconds later....flag, defensive holding....24-14, game over. There's another dozen reg. season Bills games I could mention too.
  14. Which is why '99 was so much worse than last night...at least they were consistent about it all year. We could've tied it on the Power Play with 4:00 left, but our special teams sucked. Can't believe we're blaming the refs. Injuries cost us the cup and nothing else, plain and simple. It sucks.
  15. Oh, that was Max? I thought it was Michelle Kwan wearing his jersey this series.
  16. Pretty sweet how he had the Buffalo shaved on the side of his head.
  17. I was convinced a long time ago...sports Gods are always on vacation in January & June.
  18. Good point about the '90 49ers - they would've been slight favorites (although it would've been close). I don't see how anyone can argue this team wasn't the best in the NHL when healthy though.
  19. I thought Ted was saying 'you can't be serious' in a "these injuries are ridiculous" sort of way.
  20. Who is this guy and why do we care what he says?
  21. Not just the fans, but both teams seemed to have a lot of respect for one another early in the series. I think it's pretty much impossible to play a long series without growing disdain for the other side. I love Ruff but I'm sure we would hate him if he coached the enemy. That said, Doug Weight's(sp?) postgame remarks were a joke. "Our team doesn't do that stuff" (ie try to draw penalties) rofl, Oh really?
  22. Anyone feel like this is the Pittsburgh series in reverse? The Sabres took Game 4, then Game 5 in OT at home, then lost two in OT.
