I joined this league because there's more $ at stake than the peanuts my brother & friends play for. Passing TD's are 6 points just like rushing receiving. It is a TD heavy league. 100 yd rushing and 100 yd's receiving is only awarded 3 points, with an additional point awarded after that for every 25 yards. Same with passing for 300 yards. 2 points for every 3 receptions. Start 1 QB, 2 RB's, 3 WR/TE's. I personally feel these rules suck, but it is what it is. I have similar feelings as the Sports Guy re: the #4-5 picks this year (they suck). I'd hate to have to chose between Portis, Barber, R. Johnson, S. Jackson...all these guys look the same to me with a probable edge to Portis. So is Manning the no-brainer pick @ #5 given these rules? What if he is gone, would you consider taking another QB or just take Portis or would a WR even be a consideration? Thanks

I will be the starting QB of the Bills

Where is the Todd Collins reference? -
I also think that this is questionable. Guys are going to get killed after the whistle but a 50 yard interference penalty still can't be reviewed because it's a "judgement call"? Lame.

Whoops you're right, I can't read without the converter

Your turn 3bet in the AT hand is pretty bad against a passive player. The other stuff is standard - I destroy 3/6 but can't even run mediocre @5/10 to save my life. See my BBV post on the board that shall remain nameless

What will make you happy this year? why?
BuffOrange replied to LevysEraII's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll take a combination of #3 and #6. I want to see JP play well and beat NE and Miami once each. I don't care how many wins that translates into. If we win 9 games but lose to those God forsaken teams and still prove not to have a QB, I could give a s$%* less. -
It blows mostly because he played his hand so terribly....if you call he's way behind and drawing to 2 outs or in this case runner runner....if you fold he was way ahead and had you drawing to 2 outs.....gotta love 1/2 donkeys.

I agree Mickey. As for the Eli comparison, he played every game against sick defenses in '04 - Redskins, Ravens, Eagles, etc. And besides Eli wasn't that good last year, so who cares about him?

Who will be the better QB this year...

How much did he play last year...like a half against Denver? -
Starting To Really Think We Have No QB

Yeah but straw-man arguments are more fun if you're a JP fanboy. Super Bowl or bust! -
When did you become a Bills fan?
BuffOrange replied to BILLSBACKERINLA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Huh, I generally like your posts and oddly enough my story is pretty similar. Grew up in Syracuse, which really means nothing in regards to pro sports, but the Bills & Giants were always on TV. I was so torn for the first SB when I was 10. Dad and brother were Bills fans and when SBXXV was over I grew tired of all of the suddenly new Giants fans at school. Plus when you're younger you like offense and the Bills were the more exciting team to watch at the time. So before 1991 I decided to be a full time Bills fan; will never forget the 35-31 opening day win over the fish that year, or any game since for that matter. -
Why do you think Bellichick is a prick? I know the media doesn't like him because he's not outgoing like Herm Edwards, but to me he seems like a decent guy with a pretty good respect for the game. I've never had a problem with him or Parcells. Jimmy Johnson on the other hand....

Well the previously mentioned talent disparity in the college game is very real and it's miles wider than the NFL and those type of games are more frequent. Also, the Cardinals have a much much much better chance against the Colts than Rice does vs. Texas (there's a big difference between a 10% chance of an upset and a .05% chance).

I agree. Palmer should be fine but if not, Brooks isn't a bad backup IMO. I think the season really hinges on Foster's production without much backing him up.

Jets go into the Season with the experienced
BuffOrange replied to ganesh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah I noticed that too. Of course accuracy and strength are two different things, but somebody did say he had a weak arm. That must be incorrect if his arm is in fact stronger than Ramsey's. -
Jets go into the Season with the experienced
BuffOrange replied to ganesh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha - I don't think it really matters. No matter who starts Game 1 they're not going to last half the season. -
Great point! 14-2! Rah rah go team!

It's hard to disagree with much of that. The problem IMO is that most of those upgrades are incredibly marginal and are not especially likely to make a tangible difference between L's and W's unless unless a bunch of diamonds in the rough emerge. Take the TE & FB positions for example: are Royal and Ricard really going to help us win games we otherwise would've lost? OL - if you've been following this team for a while I think you have to be suspicious of the "addition by subtraction" theory. Maybe Reyes & Fowler are solid upgrades but for the most part it's just wishful thinking based on nothing other than "these other guys sucked". I mean c'mon we were all saying the same thing about Bennie & Gandy 12 months ago.

The AFC West and NFC East were dead even last year head to head; and the NFCE teams were extremely lucky to escape in the Chargers-Eagles, Chiefs-Cowboys, and Broncos-Giants games. I expect the Cowboys/Eagles to be better this year, and the Giants/Skins worse so it probably ends up being a wash. The AFCW should be worse than last year though: Denver/SD ought to be worse, Oakland/KC about the same. I might put the AFC North as high as 2nd because I think both the Ravens and Browns could surprise some people.

Good show.

Yeah I don't think folding it in that spot would be much of a mistake at all. It's not an overrated hand though considering how many idiots there are at that level who love to play any Ace.
-
Playing .5/1 N/L (or limit for that matter) with $50 is insane, but if somehow I were in that situation, I don't think I could lay that hand down. When an unknown online player pushes 50x the blind on the first hand, you have to figure there's a 80% chance he's just being retarded with a wide range of hands other than AA/KK.

Fine. In the context of the thread (the ND discussion) we were clearly discussing the worst opponents of a given contender, not the schedule as a whole. Only a Texas fan would get defensive about that. So? They scheduled LA-Lafayette volunatrily? Oh that's much better then. Umm, yeah. You're a Texas fan. I couldn't care less about Texas one way or the other. So rofl.

Would you have liked a KJ9 flop better?
-
Way to contribute with your hideously biased crap nobody cares about. Lousiana-Lafayette, Rice, Baylor. Colorado in the championship game - ha. I don't care who USC did or didn't play. The Big XII was a joke. Not that that's Texas' fault, but whatever, call a spade a spade at least.
