  1. Does it have anything to do with Philly?
  2. On the plus side, I don't have a reason to wake up at 7:00 tomorrow.
  3. Tell that to Apollo Creed.
  4. They've got to get him out of there.
  5. Where did you find that sucker?
  6. The Peters HOF induction ceromony is still on schedule, right? Kyle Williams looked pretty good on a couple plays.
  7. OMG Daunte handed the ball off!
  8. OMFG you guys have an enormous stick up your ass. The thread is especially dumb given the fantasy/LJ commercial that he's in - which is a fantastic commercial BTW.
  9. Not necessarily. If you're talking about the 2nd half of 2002 when Drew started to hit the skids after a strong start, you are right that defenses just played all cover 2 and neither Gilbride or Drew was able to adjust. In 2003 though (his worst season), it was mostly blitz, blitz, blitz. Who can forget the Dallas game after the bye week, when they played 0 coverage on almost every play and we couldn't make them pay by making a single play downfield. Of course Moulds being hurt that year was a huge blow.
  10. I'm glad someone brought up the 4th down throw-away vs. the Eagles - I completely forgot about that (as did everyone else apparantly).
  11. There may be some truth to that, but most good coaches (and Marv has said this many times) that in-game adjustments are grossly overrated and the preparation before the game is much more important; otherwise staffs wouldn't work 7 days a week for 17 hours a day. Very true. Brady playaction to the TE wide open in the back of the endzone OMG who would've thunk it? I see this every week and wonder what film the defensive coordinator for that team was watching. They also like the WR out routes near the goaline, which TMQ has written about.
  12. Yeah, I've never been a West Coast guy, 1 penalty kills a drive easier. I've always been a fan of the Norv Turner style that features a power running game and vertical passing game. This would seem to suit JP's strengths well. Of course at some point you have to be able to complete the short/intermediate stuff on 3rd&5; JP just has to improve in that area. Also, he has to get some protection for those downfield throws. I'm not terribly optimistic about either of these things happening, but we'll see.
  13. True, I was talking about the latter statement but I would say more people disagree with the former. I agree w/ you on both counts.
  14. Kurt "I know nothing" Schultz.
  15. Even though JP is a better player, I think with that salary he would've been the untradable hockey version of Pat Burrell.
  16. Does anyone disagree outside of like 2 guys out of 50,000 members here?
  17. Put me in the McGee column.
  18. Is this Davis/Aiken/Jackson/Smith/Reed stuff a joke? How many balls did those guys catch? Davis is a one trick pony. I'll take Moulds when I need somebody to get open on a 3rd&5. Yes, we all know he's lost a few steps in speed. I guess this is exhibit A re: what Bufftex is talking about.
  19. Yep, Mularkey is the worst coach in history because he's the most recent.
  20. Not to be a nit, but the meain reason we won the first game was because they had 6 turnovers and set a franchise record for penalties. To say it shouldn't have been that close is really a 1sided point of view. I do agree that Saban is way overhyped and the team is overated circa 1990's based on squeeking by mostly crappy teams at the end of last year. I'm not convinced we're a better team though.
  21. These comments about RJ having no heart are incredibly stupid.
  22. I'd say 80% or more here think JP should start, including those who aren't "JP guys" such as myself. I mean come on - there is like 1 thread in the last 2 weeks saying KH should start. This thread is 1 of many and it exists because he threw 1 inaccurate pass
  23. I was just reading in this magazine I got - since 1998 (when he became a starter) Moulds has averaged 874 yards in odd number years and 1,257 in evens. Maybe we should've held onto him for another year. He is rated #52 in this magazine behind Troy Williamson, Michael Jenkins, and Mark Bradley
  24. Thanks guys - I think you're right; I overlooked the "value" consideration. Even though Manning will score more points than most every RB, the same is probably true for Billy Volek. Jim - yeah there's an interchangable top 3 Portis then a bunch of guys. I really don't think I can convince myself to take Tiki Barber or Rudi Johnson. Tiki is 30 and won't match last year plus Brandon Jacobs gets a lot of goaline carries. Chris Perry will spell Rudi in passing situations. I'm not sure either of these guys will be much better than guys I could find in the 2nd/3rd round like McGahee or Westbrook. Actually, Westbrook would probably be a nice sleeper pick because of the point Avenger brought up. Along similar lines, Rudi may be pretty much worthless. Maybe I'll be able to work out a trade-down or something. If not I'm leaning towards Ronnie Brown or Stephen Jackson or even Lamont Jordan who catches a lot of balls or should I just take Barber? God the #5 pick sucks
