  1. The success rate of a 25 yd FG is conservatively what; 95%? Compared to the Bills redzone offense converting against NE is the same? Seriously?
  2. Great point MDH - that's one of the reasons I would've kicked which gets overlooked; but it's really a marginal decision either way.
  3. That's hilarious. Could've been better if you knew he was there but pretended not to and dropped a series of unflattering references towards him. I agree it's odd he was watching the Bills game.
  4. Yeah, because they would've taken a knee at the end down by 1 deep in our territory.
  5. Yeah, not even close to what I'm saying. I've seen much worse penetration in similar situations and to me it was a pretty average clusterf&k stalemate by short yardage NFL standards. IMO that should be good enough for a supposed franchise top 10 back. What's ridiculous is this implication that the OL failed because Maroney&Dillon happened to have huge holes in similar situations. The fact is our DL sucks and that was the exception to what is normal. I mean, if you needed a visible hole to move the chains the league success rate for 3rd/4th & 1's would be about 20%.
  6. Not withstanding these retarded replies you are absolutely correct. Not a huge hole but not an inordinate amount of penetration either for a short yardage play. It's not too much to ask for your franchise back to get a yard there; he came up small, then blamed the OL and said he didn't know what down it was. Pretty disgraceful; I'd like to see A-train as the short yardage back if that's the best he's got.
  7. Oh yippee moral victories! Two years in a row we played well in Foxboro and choked where's our trophy?
  8. Before anyone accuses me of hindsight, I am on record for not liking Mularkey's 4th&2 conversion vs. Houston last year which worked, but would've given them a ton of momentum; especially after Carr scored on the previous possession. I dunno I understand wanting to go up by 17 but to me it was too early to think about # of possessions needed. You have the crowd shellshocked on the road with a ton of time left in the 3rd qtr I just think you need points. I didn't really agree with Bellicheck's 4&2 at the end either and was happy they went for it. If they had taken 3 and went up by 5 the game was still about over the way our offense was playing....if God forbid our defense makes a stop we have a legitimate chance. Coaching not withstanding t the end of the day we got owned in the trenches on 4th&short on both sides and that's the difference.
  9. Unless Ronnie Brown is on your opponent's fantasy team.
  10. OK well the Chiefs suck EZ covers for the Lions & Rams though. A little surprised Detroit didn't win outright.
  11. Did Simms/Nance get demoted?
  12. Another big one vs. Michigan next week. I think that and USC are the only possible stumbling blocks. Homefield doesn't seem to matter w/ ND and I'd imagine they'll be pissed about the whole flag incident when they play Mich. St. so I wouldn't worry too much about that game.
  13. If you're going to run a playfake bootleg or an option, for crying out loud do it on 1st down. Who does that fool on 3rd down after you've been stuffed twice, or 5 times?
  14. Yep, Grob sucks ass.
  15. Yeah but at least they have 2 good RB's and also slightly better WR's. Not that I'd want Bledsoe QB'ing my pop warner team if I'm trying to win a championship but I think he's going to put up some good #'s this year.
  16. Don't like either team, but looking forward to it. Is tOSU's offense really that incredible or are they just #1 by default after losing their entire starting defense from last year?
  17. Fixed your post. Anyway, WTF is up with this team? I have to laugh at all the idiots who were calling WHEN 4 years ago about Pasqualoni's playcalling being the reason they started going downhill. I mean, college ball is 95% recruiting and talent. Really sad that this is apparantly non-existent now given the number of players they have in the NFL. Seems like everyone just bought into the Jordan Gross kool-aid circa TD because he inexplicably lucked out at USC by hiring an awful NFL coach.
  18. Meh, I guess I'm never on the same page with the public. I've never been on the Chiefs bandwagon well...ever. Not w/ Montana, not when they started 10-0 in '03 and not last year when they drafted Derrick Johnson. This year I just like them a lot. They should've made the playoffs over Pittsburgh if not for a horrible non holding call vs. Dallas late in the year. Their defense improved vs. the run last year and I think they'll improve vs. the pass this yr with Surtain & Law on the corners. The Bengals are a good team, basically because of Palmer and C. Johnson. IMO those guys make Rudi and TJ Hoosh household names and their defense shows no signs of improving. So if Palmer is the least bit hesitant in his first game back, I don't see them winning on the road. But to reinterate, the Lions & Rams are my plays of the week.
  19. Who is the other Steelers CB? Maybe I'm confusing them. In any case, it's not as if Chambers is this consistent dominating force who hasn't been known to disappear for halves at a time.
  20. Now I feel even better about the Chiefs. Not that I root for injuries or anything, but TJ Housh was drafted insanely high in both of my fantasy drafts. I'll take Lee Evans 4 rounds later and get almost the same production, thanks. Also, Chris Chambers ahead of Randy Moss seems to be an interesting new trend this year.
  21. Don't know how you can be impressed w/ Dante. Could've had more int's; Welker was singlehandily responsible for their first 10 points. Ike Taylor I thought was awful: he can't cover he can't catch and he can't tackle. Jason Taylor didn't do much either: Had a coverage sack when Batch held onto the ball for 10 minutes to take his team out of FG range circa RJ. Otherwise was pretty ineffective. The Saban challenge thing isn't even worth discussing. A "should've been" 1st & goal on the 2 for a defense that didn't make a stop the entire 2nd half....who the [censored] cares? There will be a half dozen bad calls in every game this weekend that will have a bigger impact on the game than that.
  22. Betting against KC when they're giving less than a FG at home is good if you hate $. I love the Lions getting 6.5 vs. Seattle; and also the Rams getting 3.5 vs. Denver. Both games are like the Rams-49ers opener last year....overrated teams giving too many points on the road.
  23. Pats not close.
  24. When they went ahead 17-14 I started having nightmares about Sean Salisbury on SportsCenter getting the hype machine rolling. I happily flip over after the game and voila: no Salisbury....WTF?
  25. So Mularkey gave the game away with a play that had previously worked for a TD which - if called differently - may or may not have led to a 1st down. Right. What about Batch taking a horrible 10 yard sack to knock his team out of FG range in the 2nd Qtr when he had all day to throw. Or Batch fumbling on the 1 yard line after an 80 yard drive. Or the Steelers DB dropping a sure int in the endzone which lead to Miami's go-ahead score. Or the fact that the Steelers running game was vastly superior (unless you go by fantasy scoring). Or Miami's defense not making any stops in the 2nd half. But yeah, Miami was the better team and Mularkey gave the game away. ROFL. For the record, I do agree that Ronnie Brown can play and Saban is overhyped.
