WTF? Nonsense. You call yourself a fan?

For all of those who predicted we were dooommeed
BuffOrange replied to Pyrite Gal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh yes, the annual "for those who thought x" post after our first victory! This one isn't as good as last year's: "where are those who thought we'd miss Pat Williams?" gem, but ok. I agree - the schedule doesn't look too bad (there are a few other threads on that). We'll see what happens. -
Dude, you don't have to tell me he split carries with Caddilac in college. I know it, Bob from NYC who has never seen a college game knows it, and I'm pretty sure an NFL front office knew it. It doesn't mean he's not capable of carrying the ball 30 times.

It's flat out stupid. Guarantee they were making the same posts in 2003 after game 2. Obviously the Bills were perfect then and didn't have any room for improvement.

Rich Eisen doing the highlites of the Skins kickoff return: "Cartwright 7!" Freaking hilarious.
-
Yes, I'm sure they drafted him in the top 5 overall to be a part time back.

All things being equal, there's not much of a difference between the two fantasy-wise. Since all things aren't equal, I'd say Leftwich is the clear choice.

still no love from miami ch. 7

Now that's an option. But they're so damn good I'd prefer to save them -

WTF? That's going to be the most fired up crowd in Saints history. They could win outright very easily. -

So I'm looking at next week's schedule, and if I abide by my "never pick a road team" rule, I think I have to take Miami in my suicide pool....am I crazy? -
Totally agree. I'll still have a little fun at the office tomorrow here in Philly, since "LOL you guys did horrible" was all I heard in April.

When did Nick Saban Become a Good Coach?
BuffOrange replied to Arkady Renko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Been asking the same question for about 9 months. They were a hair away from getting swept by the Bills, Jets, and 3rd string Pats last year but all you heard was "OMG 6 in a row!". The other thing is his teams do stupid things and don't appear all that disciplined. See last year's game in Buffalo w/ 17 penalties. -
That's awesome. Were there any Broderick Bunkley sightings today?
-
The Lions are not the 2nd worst team in the league. That one and the Vikings game I think are tough calls and pivotal games at this point; even though they're nonconference.
-
Probably the same guy who predicted Jake Plummer to be league MVP....twice.

In the last four hours I've called my brother & father to celebrate, had a drink, visited 3 Dolphin boards, and sent a joyous brag email to the token "bust your balls trash-talker" in my fantasy league, who happened to start Culpepper today. I know I'm not failing to savor the win, nor spinning "negative crap", so if I'm misinterpreting something I'm not alone.

I'm not sure what the WNY consensus is on Schopp & Buldogg but I think they're pretty terrific; even though they're unecessarily full of themselves at times. I'd like to echo many of their postgame comments. The national media isn't going to give the Bills any props for how they've played these first two games, it's going to be all about Miami stinking it up; so just know that ahead of time, deal with it and stop whining about it. The only thing that can change that is consistent winning. We're not a glamour franchise because it's not cool to be a Bills fan like it is to be a Dolphins/Cowboys/Raiders fan and to me that's what makes being a Bills fan cool. It becomes less cool IMO, when we're crying about respect in every other thread. If you'll recall we got some uncharacteristic respect after destroying the Pats & Jags in the first two games of 2003 which was mildly fun to see us in the national spotlight for really only the 2nd time since the internet boom (the first being Flutie's 1998 season), but in the end it was not as much fun as watching your teams win games under the radar and go to the playoffs. Enough ranting, on to the game. JP was ok. The protection wasn't very good, but the Dolphins were blitzing a lot. Liked the way he made the hot reads and got rid of the ball. Dierdorf made a good point on Evans not reading the blitz on the one 3rd down incompletion. One thing that bothers me still is his understanding of game situations. A sack on 3rd down on the opponent's 40 is a good sack if there is such a thing, and yet he showed more urgency and desparation getting rid of that ball (nearly fumbling as a result) than he did on the safety last week. Overall not a bad game. Could've easily been ~160 and 2 TD's if Evans doesn't get tackled and the nittish offensive PI call. I really like the way McGahee ran today; very decisive, taking what was there, and not trying to bounce every run outside. Last year he seemed to play that way after being scrutinized, such as the Atlanta game after Mularkey criticized him for being hesitant vs. Tampa. Maybe just a coincidence; but I'd like to see him take the next step and play with a chip on his shoulder every week, regardless of whether people are ripping or praising him in a given week. Again good game; pretty dumb of Bulldog to make any significance out of <4.0 ypc since he was well over 4.0 prior to the last 2 or 3 drives when Miami had ~18 guys in the box. Defensively, great game obviously. I did think that Mularkey & Culpepper's futility had a lot to do with it. Didn't look like we really had an answer for Ronnie Brown and good ole MM helped us out when the game was well within reach in the 3rd Qtr. Still, Dante didn't look nearly as inept for 3+ quarters in Pittsburgh, so our guys deserve some credit. In terms of long term health of our run D, I kinda think we need Spikes back. One thing I've noticed in these first two games is that we seem to respond to our own success better within a game than past years. The first drive of the 2nd half vs. NE was a good example; even though the infamous 4th & 1 play was the ultimate result; past Bills teams would've thought "OMG we're ahead in NE - time to go 3&out" but JP made some plays on 3rd down to move down this field. How many times in the last 5 years have you seen our D dominate for a while and then give up an immediate score following a rare score by our offense? Today they made a stop and immediately got off the field the possession after the score to put us up 10-0...I felt that might've been the biggest series of the whole game. Special Teams - nice. Sign April to a 10 year extension.
-
He really did call a pathetic game. I'd give him a break for the 4th Qtr since you can't count on making two 2pt conversions, 16 points should be considered a 3 possession game in my view. But the first 3 quarters when it was a 3-10 point game, it's just inconceivable to me how Brown didn't get more carries when it was clear that A) we didn't have much of an answer for him and B) Culpepper was clueless. Just unbelievable.
-
I echo this. I didn't think I cared about this game but inexplicably felt mildly depressed when it was over. I guess I really hate Eli for his "I'm too good for SD" routine and just didn't fully realize it until today. To his credit, Eli was fantastic in the clutch. They were extremely lucky to get that fumble recovery to start the comeback though. Horrible loss for Philly - that's really a 2004 opening day Bills-Jags type of disaster that can ruin your whole season. Missed a golden opportunity to get off to a great start with a favorable early schedule before they play the trifecta of division road games in December.

That time again, "Who Blew It!" Who underachieved
BuffOrange replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in Fantasy Football
Well somehow I managed to lose with Palmer & Rudi on one of my teams. I think the 2nd string Colts guard scored but not Marvin Harrison. Also, Will Allen's tackle of Evans in the endzone didn't help. -
They just got a nice spot on a 3rd down catch. Go Jets!
-
I thought it was a quick whistle as well. The QB had every opportunity to protect himself by going down; that shouldn't be the refs job. Especially on what is basically a meaningless sack on 3rd down at the opponent's 40; you're essentially just giving your punter more room. Stupid play by JP; but it looked like a couple blue shirts gave up on trying to recover the ball after they heard the whistle.

It's very close between Culpepper & Warner. Don't play Rivers.
-
McGahee & Bell - that's who I'm playing today.
