  1. I don't disagree that they're good on both sides of the line. I'm not sure that has anything to do with the trenches being especially important to the outcome.
  2. Yeah like I said, at least they're winning. I guess they were only favored by 4 today, whatever that means. Looking at the schedule, I'm not sure I see another win though.
  3. Yeah, nice to see some wins. Is Wyoming any good?
  4. Maybe, though if the Midget did that under those circumstances he probably would've won an Espy for it.
  5. Seriously, welcome to the 21st century NFL.
  6. I'm just hoping for a good game. Would like to see Iowa win, as I root against tOSU and Michigan almost every game; but I have to admit that game at the end of the year would be pretty sweet if they're both undefeated. Elsewhere in the Big 10, Mich. St. just lost to Illinois at home, rofl. Either Mich. St. sucks really really bad, or maybe Cuse isn't that terrible?
  7. More so than any other game? We better hope it's decided elsewhere for our sake. BTW - last week was a must-win.
  8. That's a good strategy if you hate money. Especially if you're taking road teams.
  9. What a joke the right has become. As an avid Hillary-hater I have no choice but to vote for her if she runs against Frist because of this bill..
  10. I agree somewhat. If you're talking about home playoff chokes as the favorite, both the 49ers & Steelers are way up there; obv. nobody seems to care or remember since they've won 5 SB's each. The Eagles & Chiefs though, have flamed out without winning the big prize (at least since 1970) so those franchise would be underrated choke artists. As the years go by though, it gets harder to explain our SB defeats. Yeah the Skins & Dallas were better teams, but by how much? Washington had a great OL and a great offensive coach, and it's understandable that they manhandled our undersized DL. We had a great OL too though; and should've been able to put up more points. I don't understand how they killed us with the blitz so easily (Denver sort of did this the week before, and I'm not sure our offense was ever the same after that). I guess it didn't help that Beebe dropped a TD and Reed was getting mugged in that game. Another inexplicable point is that we got some breaks early in those games - the blocked FG vs. the Skins, an overturned TD, blocked punt vs. Dallas....those are the kind of plays where if we had won, everyone would say "that play set the tone for the game".
  11. I recall Jimbo retiring after that season. Preceded by a bogus grounding call too.
  12. OMG! Now I was sitting in the upper deck on the other side of the stadium but if I read his lips correctly he said "F- JP when's payday?"
  13. If you're so deep at WR that Horn isn't an every-week starter you can gamble on Edwards' upside; otherwise I'd stick with Horn.
  14. So easy but so funny. duey - Philly and it's not close.
  15. Yeah I just thought it was odd that this mediocre game is the 2nd best that FOX has this week. I guess the Giants on a bye, Dallas in Tennessee, and the Eagles/Bears/Seahawks playing Primetime can do that. NE-Cincy will be a fun late game for sure. It's funny how people declare NE dead every time they lose a game - I think they'll bounce back and give Cincy all they can handle and I may place a small wager on it +6. Of course if the Bengals blow them out, that's fine too since they're NE and I have Palmer & Rudi on my fantasy team.
  16. San Diego Chargers at Baltimore Ravens 704 Miami Dolphins at Houston Texans 705 Indianapolis Colts at N.Y. Jets 706 Arizona Cardinals at Atlanta Falcons 707 Minnesota Vikings at Buffalo Bills 708 New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers 709 San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs 710 Dallas Cowboys at Tennessee Titans 711 Teams Playing at 4:00 PM (EST) Channel New England Patriots at Cincinnati Bengals 712 Cleveland Browns at Oakland Raiders 713 Jacksonville Jaguars at Washington Redskins 714 Detroit Lions at St. Louis Rams Anyone know where the FOX pregame show will be? I'm guessing Charlotte...Buffalo looks like their 2nd best game though. Should get Moose Johnston or whoever the B team is.
  17. I see your point and I tottally agree with the 2nd paragraph. The bolded part, I really don't understand. What specifically are you talking about - the Bledsoe trade? I might agree with that, but it's not like we've cut loose a plethora of young talent because of impatience in recent years. I'd say the McGahee draft pick required a lot of patience. Holding the franchise back has been poor personnel rather than a particular philosophy IMO. I mean - look at the 2002 draft class - they're still here, they've been given time, and they suck. Maybe I'm one of those impatient/pessimistic guys, but I tend to think the Miami game this year was the anomaly rather than the previous 4 years.
  18. Kelly, I think the vast majority of fans would agree with that assessment; including those who aren't "JP guys" such as myself. It's pretty incredible how many perceived differences really come down to semantics - the internet has a way of doing that. I really don't understand these comparisons to other QB's. Plenty of great QB's stunk early in their careers and even more bad QB's stunk early and never improved. Whatever, it means about nothing as far as predicting what JP will become. I find the Eli Manning optimistic comparison posts especially useless, since Eli is an average QB at this point IMO (I'd say he'd be below average without the clutch plays vs. Philly & Denver last year). I guess if JP reaches Eli's level this year I'll take it, but ultimately I want him to be better than that. Getting back to the semantics (because sadly that's what these threads are usually about)....I don't understand the vile intense hatred for "JP haters". Maybe JG&HA can correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't read and I don't think anyone doesn't want him to start this year. They're just not optimistic based on the available evidence - what's the big deal? You may think they go overboard sometimes, and maybe they do in providing slanted views. But for anyone who has an objective 'wait & see' approach to JP, is it really more annoying than the: "I'm going to be the tard this week haha look at me I'm funny" threads or the incredibly widespread "our 150yd rusher sucks because he missed a block" stuff? I can't see how any rational avid reader of the boards can't clearly see that it's getting to the point where a lot of people want to throw the rest of the team under the bus to defend JP, which was annoying during the Midget years but really inexplicable now since there's no QB controversy and we all want JP to succeed.
  19. I'm watching this on ESPN Classic right now; 13 minutes left. How the !@#$ did Mich St. lose this game? Musberger: "this is a tough place to play", zrofl
  20. Only one move in each league. One, dropping Thomas Jones (who I was thrilled to get in the 7th round of a 14 team league and his still a FA) for Tatum Bell. Other league, dropped Joseph Addai for the Chargers D....I figured Reggie Bush was good enough to fill my "3rd RB with upside" role and a good D would be more valuable than Addai. Yeah, I love the overeactions to 1 game. I think Mark Campbell was a hot pickup after that 3 TD game vs. the Rams a couple years ago....has he caught a pass since?
  21. I just put him on IR in my league and made a claim for Winslow (easily the best FA out there). Of course, he has the same bye week as my starter (Watson) so I also made a claim for his backup Eric Johnson. Johnson caught a lot of action last week in Davis' absence and led the team in catches a few years ago before getting killed with injuries the last couple years. This league is generous with roster slots though. If your flexibility is limited I frankly don't think you'd be losing much by dropping Davis, given the awful track record of rookie TE's.
  22. Rod Woodson on the publicist: "She's a publicist. She's not going to be savy with the media".
  23. Man some of you guys should be coaches, because you convince yourselves we're underdogs when we're not! But yeah, Minnesota is a better team right now at the 3 most important positions: OL, DL, and QB. We have better fantasy players, but we should know how important that is by now.
  24. Jason Witten clearly looks like the best of that bunch; I'd stay with McMichael over Owen Daniels though.
