  1. Schaub is on my Madden team...pretty good. Jared Allen would be nice.
  2. Umm, that's a little harsh - you act like all of these guys were 1st round picks. You can't be stocked from top to bottom in a 12 team league....Evans looks like he was taken in the 7th or 8th round and Cadillac in the 4rd or 5th....pretty good value w/ those picks. I've noticed "points against" is an important stat in FF.
  3. They're 4-1 and they crushed the Bengals on the road. True they haven't been impressive elsewhere, but if you just take away a team's best win when the season is 5 weeks old, here are each team's next best win respectively: Broncos - home vs. Ravens Ravens - @Tampa Bears - @Minnesota Bengals - @KC Chargers - @Oakland Iggles - @SF Colts - home vs. Jags Also, I don't know why people act like the Jets game was such a nailbiter. They went up 24-0 and when they needed to ice the game up 7 they drove downfield, killed all but 30 seconds off the clock and had a FG blocked.
  4. Bush & Rivers
  5. I'd go w/ Rivers too.
  6. Fair enough - just about every argument is circular at this stage of the season because common opponents are so out of whack in the NFL, and have been for years. Some teams get penalized for soft schedules and some don't; it's essentially impossible to do power rankings without being a hypocrite. I like Peter Kings "this is who I think would win on a neutral field" wildly subjective strategy...at least he doesn't pretend to use some precise objective formula. Personally I thought Dallas & Philly were the best teams in the East going into the season.
  7. There isn't much evidence to support this idea that the Giants are better than the Cowboys - you only say that because Philly won one lost the other. They vastly outplayed the Giants, got some bad bounces, and ultimately choked. But they're doing this without their starting RB or #1 WR healthy and as long as McNabb is healthy, they've always been a great road team.
  8. The Steelers went into San Diego as a desparate underdog in primetime early last year too. This year the Chargers won, so, in my book that's a good win and they're a big reason why the Steelers aren't considered a "playoff-capable" team right now.
  9. Yeah 95 might've been my favorite team ever. They had amazing heart. Kelly called everyone out in the middle of a 3 game division road trip - which started badly - but ended with Henry Jones stuffing Marshall Faulk on the goaline in the RCA dome. The Miami playoff game goes without saying...if only we could've salvaged a split against the 6-10 Patsies
  10. I think you're right that he's cherrypicking, but he still has a point. It's kind of a subjective thing to chose what our "tough games" have been, since we've rarely been solid 4+ point favorites over the years and thus rarely not had a "tough game". The 2002 home NE game was IMO, our biggest game of the last 5 years. We were 5-3, NE was struggling, we had a chance to bury them, and got killed. Again, this is a subjective thing, as I realize most people would say Pittsburgh 2004 was our biggest game recently, but that was really only a big game if we lost, since it should've been such an easy win. The 2003 Miami game people have bad memories of, but we came to play. Our offense just sucked, which it did pretty much all season after Week 2, so it's not like they played below their capabilities. Also FWIW our TD did not come in "garbage time", although it was scored by Clements. In any case, that loss to me wasn't a disaster since we were 2-0 on the road and you can overcome a loss like that - the following week vs. Philly was really what killed us IMO. I think @Seattle 2004 was probably our biggest win in this timespan. Last year in Cincy, who cares really. Just ramblin....
  11. How are they not a top 5 team in the AFC?
  12. You mean Palmer is the only player that's untouchable? I dunno, he's about the only player that you can deal if you want any significant upgrades. You've got 3 handcuffed RB's with upside who aren't especially likely to produce every week and your go-to guy plays for our favorite team which doesn't score. Not that you have a bad team (depends on the # of teams?), but I think you just have to cross your fingers and hope. In other news my teams are 1-4 and 2-3. I'm pretty sure FF is rigged.
  13. Ouch.... I did have to laugh at the props he was getting even before Monday night. If Stover doesn't nail a 52 yder in Cleveland he'd be perceived as having a bad year....of course now he is anyway.
  14. This is a joke, right? Randle El = Roscoe. He's certainly making Brunell look all-world. Bettis 1,000 yards last year? rofl
  15. There's not much question he had the worst SB of any SB winning QB. You clearly didn't watch the AFC playoffs though. The refs were the only reason Vanderchoke had a chance to tie the Colts game and while Plummer had a bad game, it doesn't explain their highly ranked defense getting shredded vs. the pass.
  16. Miami; he played terribly that game. Before the pick he was called for a bogus grounding call for throwing out of the back of the endzone...I've seen QB's do that ~700 times in the last 10 years and not 1 flag.
  17. Please - a washed up short yardage back and a utility WR can make any QB look good.

  19. I heard that on WGR too. Schopp snuck in a cheapshot at the end w/ something about McGuire's career ending badly; which I thought was funny since PM is still on ESPN and he's on WGR. I like Schopp though.
  20. Are you saying he played well against the run yesterday?
  21. Tooth, Please provide a list of RB's than can win a championship. Also, a list of #1 WR's. Thanks
  22. Well obviously you're correct. IMO we're going to lose.
  23. Bledsoe had a terrific regular season in '94 without much of a running game or defense, and was shut down by Bellicheck & Cleveland in a wildcard game. '95 was a disppointing 6-10. '96 was a nice bounceback year, though if you look at the playoff games vs. Pittsburgh & Jacksonville, Martin & the defense carried the team. That carried over into '97 when they beat Miami in a no-offense wildcard game and lost to Kordell & Pittsburgh 7-6 in the 2nd round. '98 the refs gave them a wildcard spot and he was injured before wildcard loss in Jacksonville. '99 & 2000 he stunk and never went to the playoffs with Bellicheck.
  24. That's amazing. Harrington from what I've heard from everyone played a good game. I only saw bits & pieces but I have to be missing something: They scored 10 points on offense and his 2 int's set up NE's only 2 TD's. Unless his teamates were fumbling & dropping passes all over the place it sounds like he's just the beneficiary of low expectations, or, just being "the backup guy".
  25. I still don't like the "go for it" in NE. Otherwise I have no problem with the coaching thus far.
