  1. Wednesday evening I think
  2. Man, what a joke that call was.
  3. I hear where you're coming from, but by the same token I also think the modern online/talk radio culture causes people to lump in games/seasons together as if they're all the same. A good example is Philly right now, where everyone wants to fire Andy Reid and cut McNabb. They got outplayed vs. the Jags & Saints - but to pretend like they weren't the victims of terrible luck vs. the Giants & Bucs or that the common denominator in all 4 of their losses is the same - it's dumb. Regarding Brady, you really have to separate 2001 from post 2001. I don't give him much credit for that season because it was the luckiest team ever and the offense did next to nothing the postseason and him winning the MVP of the Rams game is a joke. But what the guy has done since is pretty incredible, and I have a hard time buying this theory that his team was heads & shoulders better than the Colts in 03-04. The score of that 03 championship game was like 13-3 in the 4th Qtr despite a gazillion Manning interceptions and in the 04 game the Pats are playing with a butchered secondary featuring Troy Brown. I think putting the majority of the blame on the Colts defense for those games when offense was supposed to be their bread & butter is just silly.
  4. Man, Theismann's such an idiot. He's acting like an interception on 3rd down 40 yards down the field is a disaster.
  5. I guess I shouldn't talk having been ousted 2 weeks ago....but the Jets on the road - seriously?
  6. Indy = rock NE = paper Denver = scissors
  7. Sadly I don't think JP does look good when given time, which is really disheartening. Of course this is pointless to argue online since everyone's perception of pass-protection is so different; but I don't know how anyone can say it was terrible vs. the Bears & Pats. Other than the Lions game and a couple plays vs. the Jets it's been better than I expected this yr.
  8. Did Delhomme even play well enough to say that he "pulled a Bledsoe"? The Panthers really suck whenever they're favored at home.
  9. I have to say, I love the Bills in this game. As is so often the case in the NFL, neither team is as good/bad as they've looked in the last 2-3 games. GB is playing better now, but the Bills looked to be clearly a better team in the 1st month. On a neutral field it's close, so the line doesn't look too off. But coming off a bye, at home against a week NFC team when everyone in Western NY is about to jump off a cliff and/or hoping for a loss and a top draft pick is pretty much the prototypical game where the Bills play well, get a few turnovers, and control the clock. The Redskins game in 2003 when Henry ran wild and the Rams game in 2004 were the same way (I distinctly remember people asking: "Why are we favored in this game? I'm betting everything on the Rams"). I thought "lol, yeah bet on the Rams on the road - that always works out well". Shockingly this annual game was missing from last year, though it really should've been the Atlanta game if JP wasn't so green. Favre is also due for one of those brutal road games that we've all come to know & love. I predict Clements will actually get his head out of his ass with a pick or two. So for only the 2nd time this year (the first being that I loved the Lions +2 a couple weeks ago) I'm pretty sure I know what's going to happen ATS in a Bills game this year. Thoughts?
  10. Weird that quote me on this since I've been asking the same question for months in relation to supporting cast and quality of individual QB play, this thread including (for some reason they always have to be 100% mutually exclusive). Certainly it can be both. Clearly there's a difference of opinion on the distribution of blame. I think it's like 80% injuries since IMO, Randle El is a ho-hum average easily replacable #2 WR. Bettis even past his prime last yr was money on short yardage no doubt, but Parker is a pretty strong guy who breaks a fair amount of tackles.
  11. If you think his supporting cast explains the difference in his play from last year to this more than his injuries - then I would say that Bettis (last yr when he was past his prime) & Randle El are the most overrated players in NFL history. But I can agree to disagree on that.
  12. I think it was the wrong call. I also think that the announcer was in idiot - clearly his "momentum" would've carried him towards the back of the endzone and not towards the sideline. But there are announcers who rip officials. Also, the force-out is a judegement call and not reviewable.
  13. Yes he won it all by himself and JP is the sole reason the Bills suck. Lets just get that out of the way to make the retarded JP apologist straw-man arguments sound reasonable. Because ya know, it not possible for a QB x to both have a better supporting cast than QB y and be a better QB.
  14. Great point! Go ahead and start a "Bulger sucked today" thread because that proves JP can play. Jesus H., this thread was dumb the first 800 times.
  15. It wasn't similar at all; the Browns had the lead the whole game and the Jax guy in 04 got his feet down anyway.
  16. LJ + Wayne = 7 TD's for opponent. I have the worst 'points against' in FF history
  17. Yeah I wasn't sure what his status was. In that case go w/ Edwards. Pats players just can't be trusted; Ben Watson has been a huge disappointment for me this yr.
  18. If Jennings is healthy it's not really close.
  19. That seems like all the more reason to vote him in. He was Marshal Faulk before Faulk was Faulk.
  20. I guess I don't understand the motivation behind these generalization/straw-man/condescending threads. "Look at me - I'm the voice of reason and smarter than everyone else". What is your point? Did the fans really run Bledsoe/Henry out of town? Was everybody thrilled about their replacement draft picks (McGahee/JP) at the time? Because I seem to recall the contrary - there were plenty of critics of those picks and those critics were labeled as fair-weather idiots - probably by people like you who defend the laundry no matter what. In any case, are you saying we'd be much better with Bledsoe/Henry here? And what percentage of fans actually want to see JP benched at this point? Maybe like 2 guys; but lets pretend it's more like 80% of us are for it just because it makes you feel smarter?
  21. They may have to key on him minus Seymore & Warren.
  22. Now that's a good question.
  23. That's the thing - it's already too late for that.
  24. Umm, no. I'm not phsyically my original post but that was part of my original post. I posted a link because I thought he did a decent job of defending himself; check out www.wfan.com.
  25. So yeah, you're missing the point completely. If you want to use the results-oriented: "that playcall sucked because it didn't work" logic, whatever....that's not really what this is about. His opinion being right or wrong has nothing to do with his right to say it.
