<yawn> How much do you guys expect the Bills to beat Miami by on the road? I'll take a 6pt win.

The Two Key Stats for the Game

Time of possession does not win football games. -
Effect of Brady being out on our season

Yep. When you break down the individual positions, NE has no clear edge anywhere over both the Bills & Jets except maybe for DL. Should be interesting. -
Royal TD without question. And I hate Royal.

Unreal. Very Jags '04ish for the Bolts.

Nothing from Stephen Jackson or Santonio Holmes. Now Romo (me) throws to the 1 twice where Barber (opponent) runs it in. Awesome. I think/hope it won't matter thanks to Mr. Turner. I kinda hope somebody offers me the farm for him so I can sell high. -
Name your MVP vs. the Seahawks

Perhaps I am naive in giving him the benefit of the doubt that he wouldn't try to be a hero like that with a minute left in the half or something - to that extent I understand your point. Under normal circumstances though, I think it's worth the risk if you have good hands; particularly given that our offense is in more trouble than most when pinned down on our own 4. -

Tough to single out anyone on defense. I have to go with Roscoe because he was the single biggest reason we had the lead at halftime (other than Seattle's ineptitude). Another thing he does well besides the big play ability that may go unnoticed is his willingness to field one-hops and give us the ball at the 15-20 instead of letting the ball bounce & getting us pinned inside the 5. Of course if he fumbles any of those everyone is calling him an idiot - but he never does, and that's a nice comforting feeling. -
It doesn't matter who the QB is or who we're playing against - that moment the ball is released on a deep ball down the left sideline is the only time I feel like something good is about to happen on offense.

I love how Pitts acts as if Evans getting out of bounds in that spot matters, or taking that time out was a tough decision.
-
I really wanted Pitts to say "he's not smart".

Mitchell got undressed on that play.

Is the crowd dead or does the Fox audio suck?

I'm posting this here because I guess it's less Lamp. Will pick a few games ATS each week. All lines from Pinnacle. While not trying to be too arrogant and recognizing the difficulty in this that I may very well lose, I know enough not to adhere to the guaranteed loser formula of picking road favorites every week, which is how most people lose (eg zomg the Jets & Lions are only -3 against bad teams!?). That's worked for me over the course of the last few years, so we'll see how it goes this year. Cleveland +6 vs. Dallas - I'll admit to not know what to expect from the Browns this season, but it's not often that a non-terrible team in the NFL gets this many points at home against a team other than NE. It seems like there's an "expectations backlash" against Cleveland recently after their bandwagon being full in July - now after a lousy preseason it seems so fashionable to call them overrated to the point where I don't think they're overrated anymore. I like the Cowboys talent like everyone else, but would also like to see them do something against a decent passing game before I crown them conference champs. There is a chance Dallas puts the hammer down in the 2nd qtr, but if they don't I expect it to be back & forth 2-3 pt game throughout. Buffalo -1 vs. Seattle - I may be guilty of east coast bias. The Hawks defense may be good, but I don't see them as an elite unit good enough to carry a banged up offense on the road against an average team with an above average homefield advantage. This game should tell you something about the Bills offense. 20pts ought to be good enough to win. If it's not, we're in for a long year. If they don't score 20, probably in for a long year. Green Bay -1 vs. Minnesota - This line says Minny is better on a neutral field by a decent margin. Despite a sweep of the series last year, the Pack will not be lacking for motivation after the hoopla of the offseason. Unlike the Browns, nobody is shying away from this Vikings bangwagon. I was a year early on that bandwagon last year, but it is full now. I'm not going to say Rodgers isn't a question mark, but Tavaris Jackson on the road offsets that somewhat imo. I have some leans towards the Ravens & Cardinals each -1 too, but I don't want to kill myself on opening day.
-
They're not a good football team imo.

Do you find Ray Lewis annoying?

Ms. Lewis - do you live in Miami or Baltimore? -
Seattle Seahawks vs. Buffalo Bills Game Day Preview
BuffOrange replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK I'll be honest - I googled Charissa Thompson and was pretty happy about the results. -
Am I guilty of east coast bias in believing the Hawks defense isn't all that? I mean obviously they're not bad, but they unquestionably benefit from their schedule and are nowhere near a top 5 unit to me. Of course, if the Bills offense doesn't improve a lot, we'll be just another one of those inept offenses they play against. But if we're going to break .500 as many expect, it's the sort of team you have to score 20 against at home. If that happens I expect it's good enough for a win.

You have several slightly unconventional but not crazy picks that I happen to agree with. I like Philly and the way they played at the end of last year. I like the Cardinals even though they're the "too fashionable sleeper pick" every year that always comes up small, I like their coach & the way they played last year. I was a year early on the Vikings bandwagon since they were my sleeper last year. I think folks are going a bit overboard this year in the sense that Rodgers is now apparently considered a bigger question mark than Jackson at QB. I think he's talking about their deteriorated OL & the likelyhood of Ben getting killed this year. Not a big Browns believer either though. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Ravens surprise in that division tbh.

Wha?

I loathe that Jennings pick so much. Hate the Miller pick a little. Hate the Reggie Brown pick because he neither is consistent or has a lot of upside. Team doesn't look too bad though notwithstanding shaky WR's.
