  1. Correct. Thought I was the only one who missed this transformation into us becoming a good shortage team.
  2. OC - I'm reminded of why I started Miami in the first place as you sound a lot like a crybaby Dolphin fan from the Marino-era. "Turnovers - we beat ourselves - wah". Will we turn it over 5 times in the rematch? Probably not. But they did nothing to cause them - seriously? Pressure on the QB & hitting his arm is like page 1, chapter 1 example of a defense forcing a turnover. They kicked our ass, next game lets go.
  3. McKelvin - I agree. Hardy - I think you underestimate the time it takes a WR to develop. Ellis - Who is he?
  4. +1 I wanted to light myself on fire the last time Brady successfully did this to us on 3rd&1 for the 101st time on 101 tries. When Trent did it earlier in the game (without fumbling) that was all I could think about, but in a good way. Just hold onto the damn ball next time.
  5. All of this ineptitude not withstanding, I'd just like to point out to the "No clue how homefield effects the point spread" crowd that the Bills have opened as 6 pt favorites vs. the Jets.
  6. Maybe there's some truth to that, but I don't know if people appreciate how much a play or two can impact the flow of the game. I mean if Trent doesn't fumble the QB sneak who knows how that next series of downs would've played out. Given that he did, we were behind by more and more points on each subsequent possession. It's akin to blaming the playcalling the last few years when if your QB can't convert an occasional 3rd&6, you're not going to have much of a chance to establish anything. I actually thought the worst playcall of the game was the 3rd&5 draw when we were up 16-10. That was a big possession and I'm not sure why they felt it would work given that it went for 1 yard against a prevent defense at the end of the 1st half.
  7. Yeah impressive win by the Giants today even though the Steelers did some dumb things. I wasn't sure their Cleveland debacle was a complete fluke at the time insomuch as I thought losing Strahan/OC would eventually catch up with them. But they're clearly the favorite now as the rest of the division looks like an only slightly stronger version of the AFC East with no bad teams but nobody really good either (Philly was not nearly as impressive as the score today). As for the AFC, "mediocrity" I think is generous - it is "late 80's AFC" bad. It's actually kinda embarrassing that such a crappy league consumes so much of my life.
  8. I guess everyone is just obsessing over it for no reason.
  9. An incomplete pass on 3rd down results in Miami getting the ball on our side of the field after a punt up 4. The safety results in Miami getting the ball on their side of the field up 6. The safety was nowhere close to one of the biggest plays in the game.
  10. And the stupid ass refs in Philly cost me the Falcons cover.
  11. This is correct. Would it be nice if our running game was better, or good? Yah. But why is anyone who points this out after a win called names from everything to a terrorist to the anti-christ who should root for the Patriots? We cannot run the football very well - particularly in short yardage situations - and we're going as far as Edwards & the defense takes us and that's all there is to it.
  12. [ ] clever [ ] funny [x] tired act [ ] worthy of its own thread
  13. Wow that OL sure is the nuts without Fowler.
  14. If there weren't more to it than that we'd be closer to 2-5 than 5-2. Uncharacterstic turnovers and a #1 CB that clearly didn't belong on the field are why we lost.
  15. Oh that makes more sense. Yah I have no idea.
  16. Fixed your post.
  17. Always thought Sal was a D'bag, but man this is hilarious. It's slightly more surprising than seeing this thread evolve into a serious Troy Smith discussion.
  18. We weren't favored to beat anyone but Oak/Stl by more than a point. OMG the horror. There is plenty of evidence that Mort is a TD ballwashing fool. This is not it.
  19. If it makes you feel any better, a 6-0 team would be an underdog to a 3-3 team this week if they were playing on the road as we are.
  20. It's just impossible to continue reading beyond this point. You're basing this on a sample size of 1 game when the pass protection was good last year?
  21. How is Kelly not the easiest no-brainer bench ever? Not sure if I like Moore or Breaston better but I'd definitely start Avery. Trent seems safe for 225 + a TD every week, Favre is of course more unpredictable. I'd probably go w/ Favre if I'm an underdog & feel like I need the upside; which I'm guessing is the case if contemplating playing Malcom Kelly.
  22. Only 12 hours to get my drunken picks in for this week, so not many comments. I suck for not getting in on Pittsburgh -1 when it opened; should've known it would move to -3. Meh, we'll settle for a couple more dogs in addition to the still underrated Titans vs. the still overrated Colts. Week 8 Atlanta +9.5 @ Philly Detroit +9 vs. Washington Tennessee -4 vs. Indy Last Week: 2-0 YTD: 14-6-1
  23. "If they lay an egg like they did in GB, it could be a very brutal day for the Indianapolis Colts". - Emmitt Smith
  24. I wish we had them at our place sooner rather than later; or at least sooner than the so-often meaningless Week 17. But yeah, we should be able to beat them wherever if we're good enough to get where we want to be.
