  1. I've seen this list before and I'll GAURANTEE the list is vastly larger than that!! One DT is absurd, and one RB is absurd too!! The intent here is to tout a website with somewhat questionable information. It is the equivalence of throwing enough sh-- against a wall so that it will surely ensure some of it sticks!
  2. Alan Branchs' workout numbers are pretty darn good for a player of his dimensions! The danger(s) here are the internet pundits that think Tim Krumries primative exercises are PROOF of the hit or miss prospects when it comes to playing at an NFL level. If he is stout against the run.... sign me up!!!
  3. I think the point has been lost.... this is a case of observing the letter of the "law", so to speak, as opposed to finding a way (loophole) around it! First and foremost, the Bucs admitted to NOT wanting to sign him this year JimBob2232, and the point about the "tag" Rocceo is that exclusive rights ( or non-exclusive) are establish for said player. I'm NOT saying he is Saints property lock stock and barrel, but he is awfully close due to the rules as they apply to the franchise tag. Think of it this way, why in heck do the Buccaneers have the right to position themselves ahead of any other team in regards to free agency next year? This is tampering, plain and simple in my book! Blaze away!!!
  4. I've got a sneaky sense that he is high on their list. I sometimes wish that I could just once in my life sit "in" on a draft at OBD to glimpse the inner workings!! I'd take it to my grave if anyone from the Bills is lurking... I promise!!
  5. The report as I understand it is that the Bucs basically told DE Charles Grant that IF he was a free agent in '08, they'd be highly interested in signing him. My question would be that this smacks of circumvention of the intended rules concerning free agents. Tecnically, he is franchised and solely "contracted" to the New Orleans Saints via that tag. Seeing that he now knows that a division rival would hypothetically "push" the market higher, wouldn't his agent have an unfair advantage in negotiations? I don't think I'd be happy if the Jets, Patriots, or Dolphins did this to one of our "franchised" players. Just wondering? Any thoughts?!
  6. Why is the "theory" of a SUPER-OFFENSE that far fetched? Didn't Marv Levy once coach the K-Gun offense to AFC domination in the early 90's or am I mistaken? Let's say the Bills, for arguments sake draft Marshawn Lynch, Zack Miller, and Jason Hill with the first three picks. Suddenly ( NOT OVERNIGHT!) the offense is multi-faceted and points are in abundance! Sounds awfully good to me!! Who's to say that the Bills finish off free agency signing a DT and a MLB ( again, for arguments sake, Ian Scott and Kawika Mitchell...), wouldn't the possibility exist for the revamping of the offense? I say YES! Will it happen? I don't know!
  7. Finish off free agency with a signing of CB Travis Fisher (formerly a Ram!) and, if possible, sign DT Ian Scott to help stop the run! I'd seriously consider a trade-up scenario to land RB Adrian Peterson by packaging pick #12, next years 1st round pick in '08 and LB Takeo Spikes along with our pick at #74 (This goes to Tampa Bay if Peterson is available there). If Peterson is gone, then Patrick Willis is the pick at 12, Marcus McCauley is the pick at #43 and #74 lands OG Manny Ramirez. The 93rd pick is Chris Henry from Arizona. If the trade for Peterson does go through, I'd look at ILB Brandon Siler at pick #43 and make WR Chanci Stuckey the pick at #93.
  8. Most admired: Jack Kemp Favorite EVER: Bruce Smith Least favorite: J. D. Williams- the ultimate first round BUST!! Personal note: I, too, am rooting for Losman more than any Bill that I can remember!
  9. I was thinking along the same lines, as I thought that J.P.'s performance against Houston should have been rated EASILY in the top ten of QB highlights for the year. In a way, they have justified that QB performance by making Lee Evans' game as the top pick amongst the rest!
  10. There is no 5th rounder, it was used in a trade for Anthony Hargrove!
  11. I'll go you guys one further, if this offseason continues as it started, the Bills could become SERIOUS playoff contenders! Free agency is a day old and the major issue offensively has been addressed smartly! Any more free agents only bolsters the mommentum built on Friday, March 2nd. Personally, I'd venture to say that the initial thrust does limit Buffalo to MAYBE one or two options, but I can live with a preemtive strike any day when it nets solid NFL talent that ALL the teams with O-line woes were looking at.... bet the farm on that statement!! You don't think the Arizona Cardinals fans (ALL 2 of them!) wouldn't have rubbed their eyes, this morning, and CELEBRATED this type of yeild?? The draft, in my opinion, is fairly strong where the Bills need the most help, so it is highly likely that as in 2006, this next class can come in and make an equal showing, and contribute to a very successful team. Well, enough said... blaze away all you negative Nancy types!!!!
  12. First off, any trade of OLB Takeo Spikes would be contingent on a physical by the interested party. If I were privy to the info. at OBD, I am fairly sure that the Bills are aware of his rehab and are relatively sure that he is on schedule to be on par with, oh, say Julian Petersons' level of recovery. To me, otherwise, the topic is moot... he must be doing exceedingly well or the Bills would just jettison him as damaged goods!! On a different bent, if he is a cap hit that has to be addressed, why not approach him about a restructuring or renegotition of his present deal before simply cutting him in the street? That makes more sense to me.
  13. Since I take EVERYTHING you said as gospel... (Who would lie about their "40" times!?), I'm wondering what number you wore at the combine? Since I Tivo'd the entire event so I can rerun it several million times this month to be absolutely sure the Bills have made the RIGHT selection, I NEED this info before I weigh-in on your true potential.
  14. Marv Levy is known to have said something along these lines... If you listen to the fans, you'll be sitting with them eventually. I happen to think that Amobi Okoye may actually achieve his vast potential in the N.F.L., and would be a fine pick by the Bills, but Levi Brown could easily be the pick on April 28th, as an example!!
  15. From the what it's worth department.... I subscribe to Ourlads Draft guides and their assessment on Justin Blalock is that he reminds some of them of a young Will Shields! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Oh, and by the way, the Bills would have never taken Thurman Thomas if fans had their way because they ALL remembered the pick of Terry Miller out of Oklahoma State. Just food for thought!?!?
  16. First off, solve the O-line woes with free agency! Steinbach or Dielman would look good to me, although the fall-back guy might be Coleman. Then give J.P. Losman weapons to make this offense complete! Ted Ginn, Jr. at 12 and then a pass catching threat at TE, even if you must move up to nab them! Olson or Miller would round out a potentially potent unit that could spread out and set up the Patriots, Jets, and Dolphins with match-up problems for years to come!! Throw in Parrish and possibly Reed, and the attack is in place. Tweek the defense in free agency and later in the draft, and the playoff talk could be meaningful.
  17. Isn't this the same stupidity that Nate Clements exhibited in the home opener in 2004 against the Jaguars? Simply KNOCK DOWN a 4th and forever pass attempt and go home a winner?? Forgetting down and distance in this league is nothing NEW..... Bledsoe forgetting its 4th down, Willis McGahee forgetting its 4th down.... The rule of thumb here is that "you" need a little bit of concentration to play this game well and some players don't possess this skill as some others do!!!
  18. I'd take a shot at Chargers OG Dielman or Bengals OG Steinbach as the cornerstone of the free agency push. Daniel Graham would be a welcome addition since he'd bolster the TE position for Buffalo and weaken the Patriots. Terdell Sands intrigues me as he anchored the middle of a defense in Oakland that most lauded as a sound unit. The Raiders couldn't keep this guy off the field! Oh yeah, he's HUGE!! Those three would be instant upgrades and the draft could land another solid contributor such as Michigan DT Alan Branch or DT Glenn Dorsey from LSU. Those 4 alone would make the Bills a much better team IMO....
  19. Steven in MD, I know that Dorsey is a Junior, however, most are under the impression that he has maximized his potential collegically, and his time is now! In some quarters, he is considered the top DT if Alan Branch of Michigan does stay for his Senior season
  20. Weird isn't the "W" word I'd use... how about wonderful. It couldn't happen to a more despised franchise!! 51-3 Oakland Raiders fans, 51-3!!!
  21. With the 12th pick in the first round of the NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select Glenn Dorsey, DT, Louisiana State University!
  22. From my perch, I'd say that the possibility exists that the Bills have found a tandem at tackle that could be a force for a half a dozen years or more! If nothing else, finding the correct complement at OLT and ORT is paramount for this team going forward. I'd sign Mike Gandy back as my insurance policy at as many as 3 positions, as a back-up. I wholeheartedly agree that ORG is in need of an upgrade. Duke Preston is not a bad back-up option either as Chris Villarrial makes his retirement rounds in the lockerroom in two weeks! Eric Steinbach would look awfully good in a Bills uniform, and I believe that he will be the #1 priority of the front office in the free agency period. Melvin Fowler will be even better with stout guards flanking him, so upgrades are definately in order. On the defensive front, John McCargo will be just fine as most players make a quantum leap between years 1 and 2 in regard to understanding the pro game more and in their strength and preperation. The same will hold true for Kyle Williams in his second year, so I am of the opinion that an upgrade is in order to replace Tim Anderson from any appreciable playing time (back-up!). The draft is impossible to forecast because the roster will change in free agency and the upgrades might already be in place! Therefore, best player available always seems best in the middle of a first round!
  23. Sean Salisbury on ESPNs' telecast tonight, said that Alex Smith and J.P. Losman have made the jump to bonified NFL starters (paraphrasing) and that they're turning the corner as the year continues. I happen to agree with his assessment!
  24. Note to ALL Jets fans.... "Man-Genius" is a very appropriate name today! I'd say he has gotten hosed by Buffalo twice and ESCAPED once. Thurman Thomas used to KILL the Miami Dolphins , and now Willis McGahee is simply a Jet killer. Get used to it.
  25. The ENTIRE Packer offense can jump into the crowd at Lambeau, but in Buffalo, Jerry Austins' crack staff of officials calls the Bills for excessive celebration? When will the NFL ever get a uniformed set of rules for every franchise? THAT would be NICE!!!! That kind of call is unmitigated bullsh_t!!!
