  1. YES, if Brian Brohm somehow fell to #41 and he is the highest rated player on your board, you select him! Do not take the depth chart into the warroom.... ever! In my book, ALWAYS take the best player, regardless of position. Does it really matter to anyone here, in the future if Brian Brohm or Trent Edwards wins Super Bowl(s)? It doesn't to me, may the best players play. A little competition NEVER hurt anyone!!
  2. Just curious, did anyone read their draft stories? They had a "foldout" in the draft section and it had a review of what each G.M./ Personnel Chief has as their strengths and weaknesses, by position, for each guy. Marv Levy was "ranked" 20th and his strength category was selecting secondary players ( Whitner, Simpson, Youboty). His weakness was identified as TE and Tim Euhus was cited as the example! Hey, people, Tom Donahoe drafted TE Tim Euhus, NOT Marv.... typical ESPN nonsense to me!!
  3. Just a heads up, but Pat Kirwin and Tim Ryan on Sirius NFL Radio had questions concerning Allison because he has a problem with "FBI".... football intelligence! I'm thinking that professional playbooks might be a chore for him?! As an athlete he is all that front offices should look for though, IMO.
  4. The obvious trade partner IF the Bills covet Peterson is at Arizonas' pick at 5. They have picked in the top 10 ten times in the last eleven drafts! Do you think Bill Bidwill MIGHT be sick of paying huge signing bonuses and salaries to that many players? They gladly trade out because it is much more reasonable to assume that Levi Brown is there at 12, IMO. If not, DE Jamaal Anderson or Adam Carriker will be there! The Cardinals are the PERFECT trade partner though.....
  5. First off, I gave up on Mel's guide years ago. I subscribe to Ourlads who have their own set of problems predicting, but I like their steadfast belief in their "methods". This is strictly entertainment folks as they are NOT privy to physical exams, interviews, and internal scouting reports from 32 teams. Just consider it fun and you'll enjoy it more. One positive about Mel Kiper though, is his near perfect recall of prospects well into the 6th and 7th round.... they (ESPN's talking heads!) don't let him talk anywhere near enough, IMO!! The second day is truly BRUTAL for real football fans as they rehash EVERY pick on day one.
  6. All defense early last year, early offense this year! 1.) Greg Olsen, TE, Miami 2.) Daymeion Hughes, CB, California 3A.) Tim Shaw, OLB/ILB, Penn St. 3B.) Michael Bush, RB, Louisville 4.) Courtney Taylor, WR, Auburn 6.) Jared Zabransky, QB, Boise St. 7A.) Dallas Sartz, OLB, USC 7B.) Jason Snelling, FB, Virginia
  7. Isn't the "fly in the ointment" the fact that Keith Ellison is slated for the weak side, or are we inserting a better talent with Ellison backing up? Hence the next question.... who plays the strong side in this scenario? Maybe the Bills opt to draft Stewart Bradley, as an example at SOLB!
  8. I recieved my annual Ourlads guide and they "spun out" some interesting numbers! 27% of ALL first rounders become starters, 18% in the second round and, get this.... 16 % of all free agents! The conventional wisdom notwithstanding, theoretically, IF the top 8 picks are right (starters), then the pickings are slim for the rest of us! Inexact science in my view! The only thing is that teams do OFTEN make critical mistakes on draft day and the real talent slides, at times.....Good luck to the Bills is my hope!
  9. As a #2 reciever, I'd trade down, add picks, and draft Dwayne Bowe! Meachem has been labeled as a guy who doesn't like the rough stuff in the middle of the field. Bowe, on the other hand, will willingly go in the middle of the field, will break tackles, and block... and do it well, IMO!!
  10. I'm guessing that 9-7 might win the AFC East this year! No better than 10-6, IMO....
  11. In my mind, IF Adrian Peterson does slip by the Browns, ( I think it will happen, they take Quinn!) you simply contact a team that has drafted in the top 10, in ten of the last eleven years, the Arizona Cardinals, and offer the 12th and 43rd picks to move up. They will happily move down for a crack at Levi Brown, more in line with his likely draft value. Just a hunch!!
  12. Admit it though, the day he flew into Buffalo as the "conquering hero" was a pretty nice moment in Bills history! I actually thought that he had "it" when he performed at that Pro Bowl level in that 8-8 year with Peerless and Eric caching EVERYTHING thrown their way. ( Josh Reed had an outstanding rookie season too!!) Then CRASH!! Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!! I wish him well also....
  13. All I want there is an IMPACT PLAYER. I don't care who, just find him. This draft, IMO is strong at positions that the Bills have needs (CB, WR, LB) and starters can be had well into round 3 and maybe beyond. Notice that RB isn't listed as a strength position, therefore I'd secure Turner ASAP!!
  14. If you acquire Kris Jenkins, why doesn't the idea of trade possibilities come into play for a youngster such as Kyle Williams or John McCargo? Ideally, they could ship out Larry Tripplett and keep the young guns in the stable!
  15. The Bills @ 12 will have trade offers for DT Alan Branch, who is becoming a bargain at that pick! Therefore, the Bills move down with the Cincinnati Bengals and with their selection take Jon Beason, OLB/MLB, Miami. Additionally, the Bills acquire the Bengals 2nd rounder. The 43rd pick is Brain Leonard, RB, Rutgers. The second pick (#49) of this round from Cinci. is Justin Durant, OLB/MLB, Hampton. In the 3rd round, the Bills opt for Ben Patrick, TE, Delaware with 74 and follow that up with Marshall Yanda, OG/OT, Iowa!
  16. No Pyrite Gal, it is his team!! I wholeheartedly agree with the premise that J.P. Losman has CLEARLY been handed the reigns and you may be the greatest fence sitter of all time! Oh, wait I can't decide!!!
  17. Ahh, that's O.K. Darwin, I know you have great "work ethnic"!!
  18. Simply circle April 28th on your calender, and continue checking it EVERY day, and eventually you'll notice how soon it will arrive!! Before you can blink, Peterson or Lynch will be having their very first news conference, with Marv beaming off to the side.
  19. The money aside, I'm deliriously happy that they were able to trade Takeo Spikes at all. Obviously, he passed his Eagles physical and now Darwin Walker is here as a missing piece of the puzzle! The conditional pick is probably tied to Takeos' performance, so for 15 games I say go Takeo! One game is against the Bills if anyone was wondering....
  20. My God, for a team that needed talent on the offensive and defensive lines and since March 2nd has done nothing but fortify those areas, what did the media think the Bills would do?! It is arguable that the Bills have shored up two extremely "iffy" team weaknesses and turned them into viable NFL lines! I'm NOT saying that these areas are suddenly huge strengths, but it can be assumed that the play will be better nontheless. If they draft for quality in this years draft and yield two or three starters, then I'd say that they have had an excellent off season. Marv and company have a plan, and so far I LIKE IT!!! Oh, and who the he// is Jason Cole??? please!!!
  21. I did sent him a WARM welcome and assured him that if he gives his all, he will be beloved in Western NY! Blue-collar town just LOVES gritty, hard working players! It's a natural fit....
  22. They could have been taking a longer look at OLT Ryan Harris too! God knows they are in NEED of offensive linemen. Victor Abiamiri, DE, might also be on their "radar" at this point. I will acknowledge the obvious though, YES, they may be extremely interested in Brady Quinn.
  23. I am right with you here. I do believe that the Bills will be in a position to take him, and a LOT of teams will want his services. I could see Adam Carriker as the piece that facilitates a trade down IF Buffalo is stockpiling picks in this draft. I could see the Broncos as being the likely team to move up and grab him. IF the Bills don't take Lynch, and Okoye and Willis are gone, I'd imagine that Carriker, Hall, and Ginn, Jr. will be the bait come April 28th!!
  24. #1 OCinPhilly is EXACTLY right! #2 Yes, the Cowboys please!!
  25. The trends here (DE size) are the result of rules changes that have made the forward pass the weapon of choice of pro coaches. So, as a result, teams must rush the passer and stack QB's like cord wood!! Smaller, quicker athletes, create all sorts of havoc on offensive lines. If you were Jason Peters, and Dwight Freeney was the next opponent, wouldn't you freak out worrying about getting beat!! Marv Levy states that it's run and stop the run, however, the pass is the winning portion of the equation in todays game to me....
