  1. Single gun, by the way, is FACT! The conspiritorial crowd believes a few.... (two) grassy knoll???
  2. I want them to show signs of building a Buffalo Bills mentality that Thurman, Bruce, Jim, Cornelius, Kent, and Andre ALL had!! Attitude is the key to winning in this league, and I want to see the next generation of Bills football greatness. I actually think Dick Jauron will mold it, starting with the playoffs THIS YEAR!! I can feel it coming.... By the way, everything mentioned in this post will come true with the vision I'm forwarding.
  3. Ben who? The Bills moved on and are scouting and grading the next TE for this offense. A year from now, the initial question to start this thread will be even more relavent!!!! BEN WHO???
  4. It's not far fetched because the Kansas City Chiefs had a full contingent at the workout for Matt Ryan today. They need a QB, and J.P. Losman might start looking good, say, around April 25th (day before the draft). If the Bills could pull this off, they are legitimate contenders next year, with Gholston, Thomas, Keller, and Schmitt in Bills' uniforms. Awesome scenario in my mind!!
  5. Jonathan Goff is an "old school" MLB prospect that should be fitted for a leather helmet! I've actually seen him play, and that was two years ago, and he was all over the field. In my opinion, he is 3rd or 4th round material. Just my impressions on him, FOOTBALL PLAYER!!! By the way, your analysis is spot on, IMO....
  6. Dan, don't shoot the messanger, I'm only saying that his stance is as I percieved it when watching. I am inclined to say that you are EXACTLY right, my friend, because what is said in March is hardly material in August/September! Good point on your part!!
  7. Do not get the idea that I'm churping about a Super Bowl run, but this type of signing is JUST what the Patriots did prior to their first win against the Rams. He is a veteran, who makes the roster stronger, if he can stay healthy. The offseason is shaping up nicely, in my opinion, and offense is slated for April 26th!! Go Bills!!
  8. In my view, he issued an ultimatum to the Cincinnati Bengals when he said STRAIGHT to the camera, "I won't play!" in 2008. That meant to me that he will not be a Bengal, but IF he is, he is content to sit out an entire season! He also emphasized CHANGE in his diatribe, so he seemed to be one unhappy WR, to me!!
  9. The question in regards to Dallas is that they would have been hurt by NOT having Emmitt Smith, the after effects that we know is that he is the all-time rushing champ. He was also a gamer, and a winner.... so yes they would have been worse off, how much so is debatable because we don't know who would have been starting instead. The premise is would they have won or lost the Super Bowls as a result? I'd say that they were so well balanced that they'd have won anyhow. Thurman was also a gamer and a winner regardless of the Super Bowl outcomes. Besides everything said about Thomas, the #1 attribute I absolutely love him for is his devotion to this team!!! He WAS Mr. BUFFALO BILL, he wore it on his sleeve people, I will always honor him for that 1st and foremost! The rest of his contributions are GRAVY!!!
  10. Imagine that... an intelligent O-lineman!?!? I hope it reflects in his play this year. The high point, for me, is that these guys are approaching their second season together. Time to mesh as a unit, so I see improvement coming, barring injury!!
  11. The fact that Chris Brown of Bills Digest and the Bills website has talked up Red Bryant at least twice, that leads me to believe that the Bills love him! He is NOT out of the question in round two, at all. The Heath Benedict pick, to me, is a positional switch to Guard in the Pros, but he is a beast from what I'm hearing! This draft is doable from where I sit.... The only question is TE, and I wouldn't be real confident in Teyo Johnson and Courtney Anderson.
  12. First off.....who is this Mel Mullens guy, please cure my ignorance! Secondly, the CB position is pretty short on depth right now, so I could see the wisdom in this statement. I would prefer Mike Jenkins in round one and follow that up with Justin Tryon in the sixth or seventh round. Both players are good prospects that fill out the depth chart nicely!!
  13. Ourlads.com is up and running! They also provide monthly newsletters that I recieve from August/September right into April. WARNING.... their mock is nothing like the national buzz, they scout (Dan Shonka is his name) as they have Professionally for organizations in the NFL. I think Dan's Bio is in Press releases icon down the left hand side! Enjoy!! I do!!! Note: These are used to make you aware of potentail draftees and give you a working knowledge. They are meant, in my little draft world, as total entertainment, because knowing these prospects is fun and enjoyable. In that way, you'll know what Mel Kiper, Jr. or Mike Mayock is talking about on day two! I flew to the draft two years ago out of Phoenix, so I am consider myself hard core!!!
  14. In a heartbeat!! Sedrick Ellis and Marcus Stroud with John McCargo and Spencer Johnson in rotation would cause all sorts of havoc for the boys in the AFC East! The push from this defensive front at DT is simply UNBLOCKABLE! Ideally, they will wear out O-lines that try and stop them. More turnovers, more sacks, fewer points allowed... sounds real good to me!
  15. Chris Mortensen is reporting on ESPN.com that the Raiders have a tentitive trade with the Atlanta Falcons for DeAngelo Hall. It is contingent on a new contract with Hall, as the rumor is that he is asking for slightly less than Asante Samuels deal with the Eagles! This, to me, signals what I've belived all along.... the Raiders will shop the #4 pick in this draft for the right price! Chris Long, Sedrick Ellis, Glenn Dorsey or Vernon Gholston anyone?
  16. Say the Bills "get lucky" and Glenn Dorsey slips to them, and they take him 3 milliseconds into the 10 minute window! Just spend time the next day reading the dread created by this pick around the AFC East!! I would NOT trade up due to the needs that the Bills have, however, those positons are deep (WR and CB) and can be had in rounds two and three! Dorsey is a dream pick for Buffalo and has been in my mind since I first watched him play at LSU. This scenario is a NO BRAINER at #11, IF, and that's a huge IF he falls!!!
  17. Derrick Harvey at #11, best player available James Hardy, WR, #41 Need pick Athyba Rubin, DT, Stroud insurance ( pretty stout depth) Kellen Davis, TE, in 4th round (Another need pick) I'm all for beefing up the D-line even furhter!! Superior trench play = WINS!!
  18. I'm of the opinion that 26 sacks are NOT enough, and DE must be addressed fairly early in this draft. I am thinking that if the Bills select "best player available", which is undoubtedly the right drafting philosophy, they will have Derrick Harvey staring them in the face April 26th! Devin Thomas is a need pick and I'd be thrilled if the Bills somehow landed him, however, I'd rather see the team move back into the 1st round (San Diego @27) and explore the #2WR they want on their board. The other thing I'm worried about is if Marcus Stroud, God forbid, got injured, we'd be right back to square one! I am following Atyhba Rubin, the huge DT from Iowa State in the hopes the Bills can shore up the rotation even more for sound depth purposes! Remember, WR's and TE's are fairly deep this year, and a player like Jordy Nelson can be had later on in the second day!! Mine would look something like this.... 1.) Derrick Harvey, DE 1.) Devin Thomas, WR 3.) Athyba Rubin, DT 4.) Jeremy Zuttah, OG 5.) Kellen Davis, TE 6.) Peyton Hillis, FB 7A.) Justin Tryon, CB 7B.) Jack Ikeguonu, CB (inj.)
  19. I think that now the Bryant Johnson soap opera has run its course, the Bills will be in the draft market for the WR of their dreams! I doubt they will take the tact of trading for a #2 WR when the draft is replete with them. I do think that they will be very careful to select a guy who they think can make an outstanding impact, so as to help the offense in the execution of gaining first downs and TD's. It isn't out of the question that they take the absolute best at this position, because the chance that Lee Evans may be a tough signing, so he can assume the #1 WR post!
  20. I wouldn't mind having DT Jay Alford. He looked pretty good in a Giants uniform!
  21. From my vantage point, is Adam Vinitieri a starter? I say NO..... 22 starters folks, 11 offense, 11 defense, THAT'S IT!!
  22. I subscribe to Ourlads Guide, and I honestly believe that they evaluate the talent, as opposed to getting the inside poop that Mel Kiper, Jr. lives on. That is why his evals are starkly different come draft day, versus what they are now. It has become one huge cottage industry, however, one scout I talked to said, at the time, you could fill a stadium with all the hard core draft fans! I punched my ticket for this years ago!!
  23. Welcome to the dumbing down of America! I am of the opinion that ex athletes are valued WAY TOO MUCH by the media due to their alleged insider knowledge! Quite often, the problem stems from the fact three quarters of these "talking heads" are clueless and they try living off their past fame! It is a joke, to me, and the quicker they hire Syracuse or Michigan Grads that can string a sentence together, and have University level training to perform these tasks, I'm under the impression we all are in for more of the same numbing drivel.
  24. Buftex, I agree wholeheartedly! The question is who is the pivotal player who turns this team around? In 1987, in my view it was Cornelius Bennett, and the trickle down effect was enourmous! He simply made everyone else better. My candidate now is Marcus Stroud, both as a veteran at a position of need, but the whole argument is impacting the defense from day one! He can do this in my mind. The other pegs defensively, Mitchell and Johnson assist this transformation greatly. They will make Kelsay and Schobel BETTER because they're there. Offensively, that cog is probably Trent Edwards, although he is the "wild card" in the Wild card playoff hunt. He MUST produce with the likely addition of better weapons, and be the leader the Bills are anticipating. I'm guarded optimistic about that part of the equation! At the very least, they are NOT the bickering Bills of yesteryear.....
  25. One of his career days happened two years ago against the Bills in Detroit. He racked up 3 and a half sacks versus Mike Gandy and dominated that game! I am fairly sure that the St. Louis Rams wanted a lot more out of him when they traded for him last year. He would be good for the Bills as a rotational DE, IMO! I'd be happy if they signed him and William James today. Good, solid veteran presence!
