I had concerns about his accuracy on draft night and those concerns persist, but the kid is likable and easy to root for because everyone hates on him. I also don't think it's fair to really judge him on a season with the worst collection of WRs I've ever seen, and that's more an indictment of the poor job McBeane has done in talent acquisition. If you forced me to make a call on his career, I'd say he'd never be a top 10 QB or a QB that can win a Super Bowl. Hopefully, I am extremely wrong on this one because I really want Allen to be awesome just to dunk on people on Twitter.

The offense was averaging 3.6 yards per play coming into today and that number will go down after what they just did. For context, that would rank dead last since yards per play started being tracked in 2003. It was a completely different league in 2003, so this is utterly embarrassing. Allen is awful even though it's not entirely his fault, but if he had any hope moving forward he wouldn't be running an offense that is historically inept. I actually think the real problem is the miserably bad front office and head coach. If you can't pass in this league you will not win. They puposely put all of their resources into the defense which is a losing strategy in 2018 and completely ignored the offense. Then, they drafted a QB in the top 10 and either thought he was ready or they thought Nathan Peterman was ready to be an NFL QB. They were either completely wrong on both assessments, which means they're bad at their jobs or they had no plan at all, which means they're bad at their jobs. They are complete dumpster fire of an organization because they don't plan and they can't evaluate talent. Fun times in Western New York.

Spending the vast majority of your money and attention on the defense in the 2018 version of the NFL is !@#$ing laughable. McDermott and Beane are dinosaurs, and in two years the Bills will have missed out on a couple more franchise QBs and will clean house again. It's astounding that a franchise could be this inept for so long. At least he checks the tape. You don't have sustained success by building an expensive defense. The only way you sustain any success is by finding an elite passer because this is a passing league. I don't give a flying !@#$ if the defense is the best in football, it doesn't matter if you can't score.

I can tell you as a lifelong Cubs fan, I lost it when they won the pennant and again when they won the World Series. And when it finally happens for the Bills organization and the city of Buffalo, if you don’t cry I’d think something is wrong with you. As a Bills fan, tonight felt like that moment when Joe Buck yelled “The Cubs have won the pennant!” and I don’t think getting emotional in a moment like that is some kind of indictment of a person’s toughness. Buffalo derives a great deal of its identity from its two sports teams and this was an important moment for a lot of people. Most of us were born into our fandoms, and some folks have lost the people responsible for that fandom. You can call it entertainment if you want, but to many of us it’s more than that. But you do you and **** on the people that wondered if we’d ever see a 17th game in a season again.
