  1. Yup it was a bad play. Every QB whose taken any decent amount of snaps has plenty.

    Like ....

Tom Brady taking a safety on first possession of super bowl against giants

Peyton manning throwing game ending pick 6 against saints in super bowl

Russell Wilson not audibling out of bad play call 2nd and goal at the 1 in super bowl and throwing game ending pick

Give up on all those guys too?

I really hate when i find myself agreeing with JTSP but.....

Take a close look at that play.....the O linemen was getting COMPLETELY blown up......Sanchez looks like he is trying to make something out of nothing........and something bad happened.

    it was ONE play

  2.

    Agree.

His best situation is in a place where he doesn't need to be rushed into playing.

Dallas and NO would be ideal.

He's a really good kid, very likeable and I'd hate to see him end up in a career ruining situation, e.g. NY Jets -- where he'd be thrust into the fire before he's ready

We do in fact have new leadership and new coaches.....I wonder if the bills might see him as a project worth taking a flyer on.

I think free agency will be very telling on just how the bills feel about EJ Manuel.....if they start bringing in vet qbs then we know that they are not high on EJ

  3. You cannot go with just EJ into the season

And its not about EJ is a gonner.......it is the fact that we have a defense that is biult to win right now......and you need to have legit competition at the QB spot so that you put the best player out there and give the team the best chance to win.

  4. If he gets to FA I don't think Miami will be able to re-sign him. If they can put together a great offer beforehand then I think they will but they are not in a good place cap wise.

This is probably one of the reasons he is being targeted.....as should one of the guards for the Saints

In Clay's case you both improve your team and you hurt a division rival.

Personally I would overpay a little bit for Clay.....he is a swiss army knife and a good OC like Roman would know how to get the most out of him.

  5. To be clear....

I wasnt really saying take him in the 2nd...I like RB Ajay in the 2nd....that RB does it ALL....durable....workhorse......can catch too

I am thinking of Petty as more of a 3rd round guy (or a target for a trade up) ..ALSO it would be a good thing to sit him for a year....bring in a vet to compete with EJ......

Petty is smart....is a thrower of the ball.....and is pretty mobile despite his 40 time at the combine

  6. Agreed. Sure as a backup but the guy threw more INTs than tds. He has little upside beyond backup.

And of course the QB trade market sucks. If there was a good QB, the team won't give them up for anything. If EJ is as bad as some people think, we will get a #1 overall pick and can pick a QB next year (and give up on him after 14 games :) ).

And waste a defense which is biult to win now

Actually....with a D this good you can bet we wouldnt lose 14 games no matter how bad the QB play is....that is the problem....our D will keep is in games....our O will win some lose some....and we continue through another 8-8 or 7-9 season.......and not at the top of the draft to take a QB

WE HAVE TO STOP THIS TREND

  7.

He seems to me to be a very average player, which is fine, on a very good defense. Easily replaceable. No real upside.

I think the issue also is, he, like any DB, is going to benefit from a GREAT front line play. What is Searcy's level of play on a D with an average line?

These are the type of players if you can get them to accept a realistic contract then its great to have them back......but there will always be a player behind them that can step in and you wont see a drop off in production.....

this is say....as opposed to a player like Hughes.....where you wonder where his 20 sacks in 2 years is going to come from.

  8. I know people bawk on the money like the money is theres.....but lets face it.....we have the MOST DOMINANT DL in the NFL.....it is champsionship caliber

We should keep it together if at all possible.

20 sacks by hughes in the last 2 years. TWENTY

And he was pretty good against he run last year as well.
