Ding ding ding, we have a winner! I apologize for neither the NFL nor Time Warner. However, looking at this as a person who lives 3000 miles away who isn't affected by this, you have to wonder why Adelphia had no trouble getting a contract and TW's playing hardball with the NFL. My guess is that they're bitter over ESPN outbidding TNT for the MNF package, and they're making their feelings known.

I know a lot of us are fed up with the constant barrage of commercials, but tonight was a new low. Chargers score a TD. 0:08 left in the first quarter. Cue commercial. Broncos receive the kickoff. 0:01 left in the first quarter. Cue commercial. Broncos run a play, Chargers called offsides. Cue commercial, even though it wasn't the end of the quarter due to the penalty. Cut back to the game in the middle of the commercials. End of quarter. Cue commercial. This is getting ridiculous. But of course there's nothing we can do about it.

My question is how you could enforce such a thing. Do security guards all of a sudden have retina scanners making sure that people who were banned years ago don't re-enter now?

Oh give me a break. Just because I don't like excessively rowdy fans making total jackasses of themselves means I'm not a football fan? Would somebody who's flying out from Seattle in a month just to see the Bills play not qualify as a fan? Who died and made you commissioner of the NFL? And while we're making assumptions about people, I think I can safely assume that if you think people who buy tickets to a football game shouldn't be concerned about their cost, then you must be up to your ears in debt. I think the sad part about the whole thing is that I have to sit in the clubs to avoid the idiots making trouble. It should make the "fans" praising Marv about high character players look in the mirror.
-
This thread is exactly the reason why I refuse to sit anywhere outside the club seating areas. I might be able to afford just one game but at least I can enjoy it.

Somewhere, TD is smiling. His boy Lindell came through.

Moorman is probably the best player on this team.

I find it funnier that the jerseys that are currently top-7 in sales are no longer Bills: http://www.buffalobillsproshop.com/main_to...ys%20Selections

As I understand it, EA would have exclusive use over logos and other team owned property, but player names would be a whole new ballgame - individual contracts would have to be agreed to with all players. Recall that in all MLB video games, former 1994 scabs that played in the minor leagues do not have their names in those games because they're not union members. They could have their names included if EA had contracts with them. But they don't, hence their names missing/misspelled. I don't see how this situation would differ if the NFLPA would cease to exist. -
Try running the calculations on paper, the rules and whatnot should become clearer. I've never liked the online services because I can't just fill out the forms and submit them.

Oh man the bitter irony if SOPRANO is right... -
I think the more interesting thing about this PC is whether or not Ralph will have on the same suit, shirt, and tie.

AFC: R 77 Terry McAulay U 70 Scott Dawson HL 74 Derick Bowers LJ 84 Mark Steinkerchner FJ 82 Buddy Horton SJ 4 Doug Toole BJ 61 Keith Ferguson NFC: R 85 Ed Hochuli U 124 Carl Paganelli HL 24 Tom Stabile LJ 18 Byron Boston FJ 114 Gene Steratore SJ 51 Carl Cheffers BJ 133 Steve Freeman The NFC has a solid crew, should be a well officiated game... lots of vets there and Steratore's an excellent FJ for a young official. AFC has a lot of newcomers so their performance should be interesting to watch.

"Moving Forward" doesn't literally mean forward. It just means that you've got to be intentionally making progress, left, right, north, or south. Direction doesn't matter. IMO, it was clear in this case that the rolling wasn't an intentional movement, it was still part of the act of the catch.
-
From what I understand Morelli's crew was one of the higher-ranked crews. Triplette (NE/DEN) and Winter (SEA/WAS) had the crews who snuck in. Interestingly enough from what I saw Winter's crew had the best weekend out of the four crews. Hochuli is pretty much a lock for next week, but my guess is that either McAulay (75-80% shot) or Kukar (20-25%) is going to get the other game so fasten your seatbelts.
-
And I forgot to add... where's the explanation about that abysmal handling of the false start debacle? If the LJ and HL didn't catch the offense moving it was a defensive delay of game for making an unnatural football movement. That imo was the biggest officiating blunder in this game.
-
This is a very interesting response by the NFL. Everyone that I have talked to who officiates says Morelli's call was correct under NFL rules. Heck, even Mike and the Maddog said it was the right call. Until he gets up he's still in the act of catching the ball unless he starts moving forward. Under NCAA rules he'd have been down by contact since his knees were on the ground. Greg Aiello said earlier it was a judgement call but I guess Pereira disagrees - you'd think they'd get on the same page before coming out with statements.
-
No, it wasn't the wrong call. No football move was made - rolling over without getting up is not a football move. Here's a similar situation: what if a receiver catches the ball, gets both feet in bounds right along the line, but then as he falls to the ground out of bounds, loses the ball. Is it a catch? No, it isn't. Same situation here. Polamalu was in the act of catching the ball as he rolled over. If he had gotten his knees off the ground, that'd have qualified as a football move, but he didn't do it. Therefore, the call was correct. I agree that whole false start/offside situation was ridiculous, but the interception was spot-on.
