  1. Location may indicate risk, but that doesn't mean branch locations are immune. I had my number stolen from a skimming device attached to an ATM inside my credit union: http://seattle.metblogs.com/2008/02/02/tro...-at-first-tech/ I'd drop these clowns in an instant, but they manage all the ATM locations at work... so unless I want to pay hefty fees I am screwed.
  2. Evidently the winter of 2006 escaped your mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGnOHg8KU_I...feature=related Of course, if you listened to Ron Sims, 3 snowplows for all of King County are too many!
  3. I dunno, I've always liked Mazia's out in Clarence.
  4. Looks like Marv is an Obama fan: http://www.newsmeat.com/fec/bystate_detail...mp;first=Marvin Ralph should donate more money if he wants a new stadium: http://www.newsmeat.com/fec/bystate_detail...amp;first=Ralph
  5. I'm a big fan of the AMEX Hilton HHonors card. 3 pts per dollar for any purchase, 5 pts at gas stations, grocery stores, cell phone bills, Hilton properties, and the post office. $20k in purchases during a calendar year nets you HHonors gold status for free. These add up really quickly, and the nice thing is that as long as there is a standard room available in the hotel of your choice, they'll let you grab it for points (with no upcharge). 125k points nets you 4 nights at a category 6 hotel (Waldorf-Astoria, Hilton Hawaiian Village, etc).
  6. Any of them in throwback unis on the tickets? That was the indicator last year to determining which games they were slated to use those.
  7. Yeah this is pretty amazing. I've only very casually followed tennis, basically just watching the finals of the various grand slams. That said, this match might make actually make me a fan.
  8. It was really funny watching the media coverage of this yesterday. Just about 20 minutes of the 30 minute newscast was devoted to this story. If this were Buffalo, they'd have blocked off an entire day to cover this. The fact is that only a handful of people actually cared about this team. Given that they sucked so badly I can't say that the apathy is all that shocking. Just imagine if the Mayor of Buffalo actually signed off on a buyout just hours before a ruling was to come down that would have probably kept the team in the city for another two years. I'd venture to guess that, at a minimum, there'd be riots and widespread looting. Here, nothing more than a 20 minute mention on the evening news.
  9. Several people at work have it. I'm stuck with Verizon DSL until they deploy it to apartments. Pros: - Service isn't capped. You can basically use all the bandwidth you want and they won't complain. - They don't packet forge, unlike Comcast and Time Warner. - It's fiber-to-the-home, not fiber-to-the-node. AT&T's UVerse and all cable companies implement FTTN, which significantly limits available bandwidth. - Speed and reliability are tremendous. Nobody that I know has any complaints in this area. - They don't force you to take on phone or TV, but they'll charge you extra if you don't subscribe to phone service. Cons: - Billing system is REALLY screwed up, and getting it corrected is hard.. Check out dslreports.com for more info on complaints in this area. - Installation takes awhile and you'll have to plan ahead - i.e. where you want them to install the box, route cables, etc. - You lose copper phone service. If your area has frequent, prolonged power outages, then this can be a problem. However, they do provide a battery backup that should last you a few hours.
  10. Good riddance. Unfortunately none of them will be shuttered in this area. I can think of at least three strip malls within 10 minutes of here that have at least TWO starbucks locations in them. The amount of money I see people piss away every day at work on a $3 cup of coffee is amazing (MS slightly subsidizes our food, that'd be more at retail). And people look at me like I'm crazy because I don't drink a drop of the stuff. I would kill for a DD coffee roll right about now...
  11. Yeah, this isn't in the same league as retatta or the NJSue HW thread.
  12. I never thought I'd say this but I agree. I'd rather have a team full of criminals and make the playoffs as opposed to putting up with another season of crap.
  13. I can't believe a someone falls for Crayonz every time...
  14. The NHL needs to dump NBC. KING didn't even bother showing the game here, instead relegating it to KONG. A damn shame too since it was a great game. If you sign a contract that allows one of the top-15 affiliates to just not show your game for no particular reason, you got hosed.
  15. I didn't qualify for one
  16. NES for me as well. Got it for Christmas when I was 7, way back in 1991.
  17. It's not even just about the speed. See a red light ahead? Take your foot off the gas and coast to a stop. At a red light? Don't gun it, just gradually increase your speed. Just avoiding the "jackrabbit" starts, which save 15 seconds on an average trip, can increase your gas mileage by 10-15%. I've sort of made a game of it... I'm only a few miles from work so I'm mostly driving around town. I used to have to fill up roughly every week and half to two weeks. Now I have to fill up every three weeks. That adds up during the year.
  18. Driving slower helps. Did a roundtrip to Portland from the Seattle area yesterday. Insetad of driving the limit (70), I kept it at 60 the whole way and drove conservatively. Got 38.6 MPG in my Honda Accord (filled up at the same pump, let it go to the click). On highway trips like that I usually get around 32. Nice bump for getting there just a few minutes later.
  19. Choices out in the NW are actually pretty few. Fred Meyer is owned by Kroger. Probably the best of the bunch. Safeway is expensive and has average selection. QFC is owned by Kroger and more expensive than Fred Meyer, with less of a selection. There are a few Top stores (not to be confused with Tops) and Albertson's. People avoid these like the plague if they can. I've been out here for two years and still haven't gone to the Trader Joe's out on 156th in Bellevue. I guess I should go.
  20. mmm... Every time I've gone down Stevens Pass heading east on US 2, there's been a state patrol cop clocking people on the way down. I guess the People's Republic of the Puget Sound needs additional funds to continue its socialist browbeating.
  21. We had better be trading up to get a TE.
  22. This pick is taking awhile...
  23. PLEASE draft a TE... PLEASE
  24. Going to the browns.
