  1. You really want to risk taking a UT player after all their busts? I don't.
  2. Please trade back - do not take Orakpo at 11.
  3. If Crabtree is still available I'd really like to see us trade back...
  4. WTF, Browns got hosed on that trade.... no 1st for 2010?!?
  5. JETS ON CLOCK!
  6. I'm surprised the Bucs aren't trying to trade Mike Williams.
  7. Do they though? I've never personally known any Bears fans outside of Chicago. The usual suspects are Green Bay, Oakland, Pats*, Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, and Dolphins.
  8. I always go on Saturday instead. With the 10AM starts out west, there isn't much of a choice.
  9. Believe it or not, his son works several doors down the hall from me. I've never talked to the guy but he is in the office today...
  10. Not much new info that we don't already know, but it's catching on in the mainstream media: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4077093 The Philadelphia Eagles are close to working out a trade with the Buffalo Bills to acquire left tackle Jason Peters, multiple sources said Friday. Terms of the Eagles' proposal are not known, but Peters was asked to fly to Philadelphia today to meet with team officials. The Eagles have 12 picks, including two first-round selections, in next weekend's NFL draft; it is believed they might have to give up a first-round pick -- or more -- to acquire him.
  11. I completely disagree with that. I think the TE is a far more important position than people give it credit for - particularly for a QB like Edwards. I'm sick and tired of rooting for a team without a serviceable TE. Trade Peters to Philly, and use the two first rounders on Pettigrew and an OL or DL.
  12. Care to back up that opinion with any basis of fact? Do you really think they're going to send technicians out to tens of thousands of homes (likely more) to determine who can and who cannot receive signals?
  13. Fixed. There is no practical way they can determine who can and who cannot receive DirecTV, unless they want to send people out to individual homes for site surveys. That to me says that they worded the press release in a poor way, and that anyone who wants it will be able to receive it online.
  14. http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=154865 Summary: - DirecTV signs exclusive agreement through 2014, paying the NFL $1,000,000,000/yr for the rights. - No later than 2012, people without a DirecTV subscription will be able to subscribe to Sunday Ticket online. - No later than 2012, the Red Zone Channel will be made available to all cable and telco companies.
  15. Add another vote for Arby's. I don't know what chemical they add to their roast beef, but it just makes you want to eat more. FWIW, In-and-out is a California thing... none up here in the PNW.
  16. Hmm... I guess I'm the only one that likes NBC's primetime programming. This is what I usually watch every weeknight: M: Big Bang Theory (CBS) T: L&O: SVU (NBC) W: L&O (NBC) Th: The Office (NBC), 30 Rock (NBC), Hell's Kitchen/Kitchen Nightmares (Fox) F: Monk/Psych (USA, which is owned by NBC) I don't agree with their political takes on news, but I kinda like what they have to offer from a programming perspective. I don't watch ABC at all anymore...
  17. So was I. I got my CS undergrad from RPI and my masters from Cornell. Having seen the personalities of students from both schools firsthand, I'm far prouder to call myself an Engineer than a Cornellian.
  18. Might I suggest the following tune: Also heard here: And here:
  19. They will not put the Pats game in Toronto - it will sell out in Buffalo. They chose Miami because they didn't sell out the last time they played in Buffalo (or had trouble selling out, don't remember). They're probably going to pick something they think will be difficult to sell.
  20. Using the franchise tag on TO? Let's not get ahead of ourselves, but geez... what's the likelihood that he wouldn't complain about that?
  21. I'm sorry to hear that your friend will be out of a job, but I stand behind my previous statement. Their political bias makes the NYT look non-partisan. I could cite numerous examples of this over the years, but since this isn't PPP, I'll leave it at that.
  22. Actually Crayonz, I do have a question. Can the NFL institute a rule that in odd-numbered years, the Earth spins counter-clockwise, and in even-numbered years, the earth spins clockwise? That way, all teams get a chance every other year to get first crack? I'm sure the Googlebot has a device that would be capable of changing the Earth's rotation. This would also have the side effect of our time occuring before the Russians, which would allow us to bomb them before they could respond, since they'd be 10 hours behind us.
  23. The P-I is a piece of trash. They've been in the back pocket of Ron Sims for ages. OTOH, The Seattle Times is a solid paper and while I don't always agree with them, they lack the clear liberal slant that the P-I has. I would be sad to see them go. I can't speak for the sports reporting of either of the two dailies here because I just don't care about Seattle sports.
  24. I just got FiOS internet installed on Thursday. Let me echo this advice - dump the supplied router (in my case I got a Westell) and get a Buffalo or Linksys and flash it with dd-wrt. Verizon's internet service is simply second to none. Last year I actually switched from Comcast to slower Verizon DSL, because Comcast is so subpar in my area. Verizon's only achilles heel is billing. I'd love to jump on the TV bandwagon as well, but DirecTV does offer three distinct advantages to me - Sunday Ticket, east coast locals (I "moved"), and the Buffalo feed of MSG in HD. I could live without the east coast locals if they somehow acquired the other two.
