I want the Jets to win but holy cow watching them play this poorly, especially Rodgers, is so deeply satisfying.

OMG this game is amazing.

There are a lot of factors why Bills fans showed up to this one: Seattle is... isolated. It's the closest NFL city for several major metropolitan areas, including Portland and Vancouver, BC. It's the closest stadium for several western states, and especially given that the 49ers are another NFC team, this was the closest the Bills were going to get for many people for the next four, if not eight years. As mentioned, the Bills only play once every eight years here. Most other NFL cities have an AFC team closer by where they could see the Bills more often. The three closest AFC teams - the Chargers, Raiders, and Broncos, are all about 1,000 miles away by plane from Seattle and further by car. Seattle fans are not high on this year, and that made tickets widely available at low prices. As a point of comparison, I paid less for 30-yard line club level tickets here than I did for the game in three weeks in Orchard Park against the Chiefs, at the 10 yard line and not under cover. Seattle, while it has its problems, is an attractive game to travel to for east coast fans. The away game choices this year are Miami, Foxboro, New York, Baltimore, Houston, Seattle, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Detroit. Seattle is a hub for Delta and Alaska, and that makes airline tickets fairly competitive and cheap. So yeah... I am not surprised the place was packed with Bills fans. I was there eight years ago for the Monday night game - when it had been 12 years since the last time the Bills visited Seattle. It was similarly packed with Bills fans then, even though Russ was still cooking for the hawks.

The AFC East over by November first? Josh will see to it. Train wrecks and the fins Things with a lot in common Tua conducts both. Wish it were colder? Oh, what folly McDaniel, Your hot seat is warm!

As much as I despise the boys... that particular award has much better candidates. Watson and Cleveland are #1, Russel Wilson and Denver have to be up there as well. I'd say Rodgers and the Jets was also worse.

I think someone should tell him that he was cooked a bit too much. I like my carpaccio nice and rare, preferably with capers and some nice crostini.

There is truth to this. My wife and I live in Woodinville (actually, unincorporated King County). We do not visit Seattle unless we have to. It was so bad at one point that judges were throwing a fit because jurors showing up for jury duty didn't feel safe enough to walk outside the courthouse. I think the last time we were there was for Book of Mormon at the Paramount in January... which honestly wasn't too bad as it was unseasonably cold and kept the riff raff out. Generally speaking, when I do go, I try to avoid Pioneer Square, the area around city hall and the King County courthouse, and 3rd Avenue (which is the main north-south route that busses use). If anyone traveling here wants to get a taste of the area and is outdoorsy, I'd highly suggest doing something like hiking as opposed to touring the city. The area around Issaquah has some excellent trails that are easily accessible from I-90. Poo Poo Point and the West Tiger trails have some excellent views of the area. If anyone visiting is in to wine tasting, Woodinville has over 100 tasting rooms with some excellent options. Would highly recommend Delille (including their restaurant), Mark Ryan, Fidelitas, Love that Red, and Adrice, amongst others. My wife and I are pretty into the wine scene here; we recently got our WSET level II award from a local provider. I'd be happy to give specific recommendations to anyone of similar mind :).

I will be there... my once-in-eight-year opportunity to see the Bills with just a half hour's drive versus a cross-country flight. Don't underestimate the Seahawks. They are not a great team but they aren't incompetent like the Jets and Seattle is a tough place to play. For some reason I have a bad feeling about this game, maybe it is BBFS kicking in I dunno.

It is great to watch the Jets get pounded like this. Thoroughly enjoyable.

I'm not on this train yet for two reasons - McDermott and Bass. The former needs to prove himself capable of making sound decisions late in close games. The later needs to get his head on straight or be replaced. We all laugh but the kicker IMO is one of the most critical pieces to a playoff roster. These games are close and it's therefore extremely important to convert PATs and make 45+ yard field goals - often in adverse January conditions.

That stat is a bit misleading - it relies on previous season data that isn't indicative of the current state of affairs. It also fails to take into account how kicking has greatly improved around the league as technique has changed. This season, Bass hasn't hit from 50+ and he has shanked several kicks that demonstrate he's a head case. He is 9 of 12 this season on FGA which puts him at 75%.

Can you imagine this guy making an onside kick? He'd eat the opposing receivers trying to recover the ball for breakfast. I love it if he's at least somewhat competent.

This is almost certainly a disadvantage of having John Parry making these review calls. He likely told McD not to challenge, which was correct. But that fails to take into account the fact that he then burns the timeout right afterwards. At that point, as you say, his "timeout" should have been the challenge, even if he knew he was going to lose.

You force them to take the timeouts and perhaps you gain a couple yards running the football with Cook, allowing for an easier punt. If they had done that, Houston must kick the ball after the punt since they'd be out of timeouts.

I reserve "worst" for situations like 13 seconds... but this is yet another late game coaching failure for McDermott. This isn't even the hardest part of coaching quite frankly. The bozos in the stands knew what to do - make them take the timeouts.

This is the right take for me. Especially losing physical players like Poyer and Hyde... we don't match up well against this type of team. I'm disappointed by the outcome, but part of me kind of expected it. The next two games kind of worry me. I feel like we never play the AFC south particularly well, and the Jets are another team that tends to cause problems for Allen.

I think this is the right take. The team has two options at this point. Either find Bass a psychiatrist that can help him get over whatever mental barriers are in his way, or cut him and find a replacement. The status quo cannot continue - he either has to do something to overcome his current situation or he needs to be let go. The guy has $9M in guaranteed money coming to him in his contract. I don't feel bad for him at all if the situation comes to his release from the team.

Just keep bleeding the clock here guys...

I don't like that call... it's a big game in a big moment. Unless it's egregious, you keep the flag in your pocket if you are the ref.

I would almost say that letting Tucker kick the 76 yard field goal would have a better shot than trying to get the TD here.

This is going to be interesting. Anyone who has watched his career knows he should be forced into retirement. But what are the odds that the NFL's "independent" doctors clear him to play? They seem pretty high to me. That would turn it into a lawsuit and that could get ugly for the NFL.
