  1. Reminiscent of the tuck rule.
  2. Mahomes shouldn't be out there. If that was Allen I would be pissed that the team wasn't protecting him.
  3. I think the fact that Dallas is the team giving Tom Brady his come-uppance is part of it. Watching Jerry Jones celebrate in his suite after a touchdown isn't exactly a moment I relish.
  4. This game is just ridiculously boring to watch. If Tom Brady plays next season, please do not give that team extra primetime games just because of him. This is like watching the last year of Peyton Manning.
  5. Sounds about right - 5 touchdowns and 5 missed PATs.
  6. I agree with this take, which is crazy because Brown was the Bills' equivalent of the Iraqi Information Minister for years. Brown's leading softball questions at press conferences and his nauseatingly positive website articles were pure propaganda during one of the worst stretches of failure in the franchise's history. I can only think that Russ Brandon and Scott Berchtold must have made it clear that honest assessments of the team's performance were not permitted. Brown now seems to be at least partially objective, at least in comparison to Tasker who is drunk on Bills Kool-Aid every afternoon. I think Brown has done a very good job with the play-by-play gig considering the circumstances, although I tend to agree with others that I would rather see someone else hired full-time. Assuming Murph can't go on, the franchise is good enough that they should be able to attract national talent for the play-by-play position. Scraping through the communications department for someone willing to take the gig should no longer be necessary.
  7. Carl Cheffers is the referee. We last saw him in Week 16 against Chicago... which left a bit to be desired, imo. https://www.footballzebras.com/2023/01/hochuli-blakeman-cheffers-and-vinovich-are-divisional-playoff-referees/
  8. Tag/Trade seems like the best move to me. I mean - could you imagine Josh pulling something like this with the injury and the playoff game? Or Mahomes? I certainly can't. I feel like this, combined with the contract situation, would seem to indicate that moving on is in everyone's best interest.
  9. Maybe if this was Mahomes or Brady throwing the picks. Lawrence looks like Nathan Peterman out there.
  10. Nathan Peterman has to be watching Lawrence and just hoping he throws 2 more...
  11. If Baltimore beats Cincinnati and the Bills win on Sunday, they are guaranteed to go to KC in the next round as they will be the lowest remaining seed. The Bills would play the winner of LAC/JAX.
  12. I would be very surprised if they do not go for the secondary with their early round picks, assuming there are good players available at CB or S.
  13. Fish in the playoffs! Oh, still wish it was colder? Sushi best served cold! Marino pounds desk! Those January losses struck a nerve I guess. Josh and Sean get to have a taste of the nineties! Win and squish the fish!
  14. I would take Pittsburgh in a second. That is a lot better than some of the other alternatives being discussed.
  15. I had heard that Ford Field was rented out for an event after the Lions were eliminated from the possibility of hosting the NFC Championship. I don't think it's an option.
  16. Feels like the neutral site for BUF/CIN would be Cleveland, and for BUF/KC would be Indianapolis. Will be interesting to watch, hopefully it's not necessary.
  17. The circumstantial evidence would seem to point towards Al Riveron making that statement. He is the liaison between Parry and the league and would be the league mouthpiece delivering information to ESPN.
  18. I think the NFL is desperately hoping for: CIN win, BUF win, KC loss. That would mean the game is irrelevant. CIN would win the division and BUF would win the #1 seed regardless of the outcome of the game. I think the nightmare scenario is a Baltimore win. That means they need this game to determine the winner of the division. Edit... although I suppose if CIN wins, they should get a crack at the #1 seed as well.
  19. I am thinking the "no contest" result is the likely outcome. The Bills and Bengals will play 16 game seasons, with standings determined by winning percentage. A tie would have potentially negative consequences on other teams with respect to tiebreakers for things like strength of victory, conference record, etc. Pretending like the game was never played feels like the most fair result for all the teams involved. That will mean the Bills likely get the 2 seed if they beat NE on Sunday.
  20. I can tell you that the 5 minute thing almost certainly came from the NFL at 345 Park. After "Bottlegate" (where Terry McAulay called a game early in Cleveland due to the crowd), on-field officials are instructed to contact New York and let them make the call. That's almost certainly what happened here. Shawn Smith has a good reputation in the NFL for doing the right thing and I suspect that Taylor, McD, and him were instrumental in postponing the game. Goodell OTOH looks like a jackass.
  21. It is also on ABC and the Mannings will be on ESPN2.
