  1. I was listening to DC radio and some local beat reporters for the 'Skins said that Kyle and Mike Shanahan are in love with Jake Locker. For whatever reason they really want that kid (i wouldn't touch him...way too inaccurate for my liking). Anyway, if Locker is sitting there late first or early second round, bet on the Redskins to draft him barring any last minute change of heart.

  2. Just looking at the home schedule it seems more attractive than last season imo. The Raiders are a good home opener. Even though they finished strong they are at our level. It's winnable and it will sell out since it's the opener. Pats, Eagles and Jets will all be good draws at the Ralph. We all like getting Miami to Orchard Park in December and Denver/Tennessee are fairly interesting opponents and winnable imo.

  3. I agree that Pegula has been an awesome owner so far. For me, anything that happens positively in the playoffs is gravy. I didn't even expect this team to be in the playoffs in January. I am excited about the future b/c Pegula is putting things in place for Buffalo to be the ultimate hockey destination for draftees, free agents, scouts, etc... SO if they do well in the 2011 playoffs I'm thrilled, but I am even more excited about the future with this ownership in place.

  4. For those with DTV (and outside of Buffalo) do you know which channel the game will be on? I know sometimes for me the Center Ice feed is blacked out and I have to watch on the MSG-NYa feed. Any idea about tonight? I won't be home tonight for the start of the game and want to make sure I set the DVR correctly.

I'm out of state and have the Center Ice package. The game tonight is on Directv ch. 771. For the HD version it's ch. 771-1

  5. The water taxi's in Baltimore inner harbor and Alexandria, VA are great. They take people from one touristy location to another touristy location nearby. Good luck in Buffalo but I can't help to think they are going to taxi people from the Naval Park to what?...some boat slips? a lighthouse? I guess just riding in a boat for a few minutes will be the draw in itself....

  6. Give the Bills some credit. They've managed to keep this uniform thing under wraps and we're almost to mid-April. By now we usually see some leaked video game screen shots of new Uni's or some other inadvertent leak. I do hope they go with the Joe Cribbs era uniform, white helmets and blue pants on the road.

The greatest news for me in no more blue/blue track suits at home. I loathed those things.

  7. I watched Ken Burns' documentary a few weeks ago via Netflix (and I notice PBS is currently running it); there are just so many incredible stories about that war.

I was flipping around last week and landed on PBS when they were showing it. No matter what I'm doing I always get sucked into that documentary. Still amazes me they have actual pictures of the event. the story telling and snippets from diaries are awesome.

  8. I can relate to this story.

We landed at Dulles airport a few years ago on a United 777 (from LA). While taxiing and about to turn into our gate the plane lurched a bit and stopped quickly. All of a sudden the flight attendant starts running down the aisle "we hit another plane, we hit another plane!" She was freaking out but the passengers were all calm. We were only going like 5 mph or something. Anyway, turns out our right wing sliced through the tail rudder of a Lufthansa 747 that was backing up....Ooops! Someone handling ground ops really screwed up. No big deal for us, we were at our destination and safe. Those 300+ people on the Lufthansa plane were grounded though. It made the local news.

  9. I went to a game at AT&T Park last May when i was out there on business. Pretty cool place. Nice touch to keep the outfield gates open during batting practice so people strolling by can watch BP for free.

Now that i have a son who likes baseball I'm more into it (after a 20 year hiatus!). We go to a few games a year at Nationals Park in DC or at Camden Yards.

  10. After years of having bad knees (they started to go south on my in high school) and over a year of fairly constant ostearthritis knee pain the time has come for knee replacement surgery (round 1 - I need both done and after I get through the first I'll have to start think about the other).

Anybody here ever had their knee replaced? I'm trying to figure out what to expect. It's hard because I'm at least 20 years younger than most people who have this surgery (I'm only 41). It's hard to understand what things are going to be like when my surgical peer group is in their 60s and 70s. Anyway, regardless of your age - if you've had a knee replacement I'd love to hear any advice you can give me and tell me about your experience with the procedure and the rehab. I know it's not going to be too fun but from what I've heard I'll be really glad I did this when all is said and done (you have no idea how happy I'll be if I can spend most of the day on my feet without pain and sleep through the night without knee pain waking me up).

My dad had knee replacement surgery a couple yrs ago but he was 70. Like you said his recovery period will be different than yours. He was laid up for a few weeks and really was in agony at first. He had to take some good pain meds which he normally would not touch. It worked well for him and he's fine now but the process was too much for him. He's not getting the 2nd knee done even though he needs to. He'll just limp around on his other leg.

  11. I love Nix and Gailey. They bring up stuff that I would think about and say if me and my friends were running the football operation over there. (They just say it with that southern twang, ha ha). I'm not implying that's a good or bad thing. It just is. If they prove to turn this franchise around and be winners, then it's a great thing. I do think both guys have a great understanding of what it takes to be a great football player and how to create a winning team.

  12. Locker is a late round project imo, not a 2nd or 3rd round pick. If the Bills FO or anyone saw him play last year he wouldn't even be under consideration. His accuracy is putrid and he looks to run all the time. If the Bills just look at stop watch results and combine scores than they could be suckered into picking him too early. If they actually watched him play football, they wouldn't touch him.

  13. I was standing on the sidelines last year during warm ups for a game. Could not believe how thin Maybin looked in person. You guys are right, his waist and butt are so small, it's like a 14 yr old boy's. His muscles are even too bulging for his thin bones. It's bizarre.

  14. I agree Madcap. I'd love to see the word Bills on the neckline. We are the only team that flipflops jerseys but don't put any identifiable markings on them. It's a very anonymous jersey when worn outside of WNY. The Bills are very stubborn about putting a logo or the team name on the neckline. Unless you are the Packers, Colts or Raiders... You need something on the jersey. Those teams have never changed so it works.

  15. This is great news. Now i hope they can finally get back to wearing dark jersey's and white pants at home again. It looks so much more professional than blue/blue.

For some reason the Bills refuse to put any logo or identifier on their jersey's. I hope they add something to the jersey with this uniform tweak.

Keep an eye out on this thread from this logo site message board. If any picture is leaked, these guys are always first to pounce on it and post it.
