  1. Did you speak with an agent or Retention Department?

I spoke with 2 agents, the second was someone specifically for ST calls.

you got it for FREE and they know it. Beggars can't bee choosy or greedy!

damn, last season all they gave me was $24.99 x 6. which was the same as the season before and the season before.

They automatically renew you for the ST MAX. You have to call and tell them that you don't want or need the max.

I'm sure I've posted this before

My bi-annual call for credits has my bill @ $180 during football season.

All the premier movie channels and a sports package post season $153/month

I was OK with the offer, can't complain. If other people here eventually start posting about Free NFL ticket plus all the premium channels...that's when i call back and start asking for more loyalty discounts. I've been a customer since 2000 and believe me...I've paid them enough $$ over the years to equal a really nice car. I don't feel bad asking for the most discounts possible...

  2. Got the letter saying they would renew my ST Max at ($62.99 x 6 payments). Made my annual call yesterday, spoke with 2 people... the best they could do was $24.99 x 4 payments for Max. So getting it for $100 vs. $378 just for making a phone call is all well and good but last year i got it for *FREE*. I kept pressing and she said the 24.99 x 4 was the very best "loyalty discount" they could offer. She said if i declined I could always call back in a few weeks and see if anything better is available.

So i accepted it for now and will call back in a month and see if I can do better or get some credits added to my account to offset it.

  3. Cool story. I bought my kid a Tyrod jersey before last season. I personally think he's a very good QB for our Bills. Hoping he really blows up the league this year and does awesome. You never hear anything bad about the guy off the field...or doing stupid things to bring negative attention to himself or the team.

  4. Chik Fil A has good food, but the reason they are successful is they have a very rigid structure that emphasizes customer service. Don't quote me on all of this but I believe the employees are required to say please and thank you, they aren't allowed to display tattoos, they keep the place clean and are very respectful. There is definitely a noticeable difference between the employees at chik fil a vs. the mcdonalds, burger kings, etc....around here.

Yup. Down here in Maryland the Chik-fil-a employees are overly polite and definitely a different breed than other fast food workers (who don't give a crap about smiling or being polite).

I avoid the place around peak breakfast, lunch or dinner times. Way too crowded, at every location. When i go at an off-peak time it's the spicy chicken sandwich for me and I dip it into their honey mustard sauce. Good stuff.

  5. Was listening to Beane on the Murph Show. He implied that McDermott watched tape from last years OTA's and did not like the tempo he saw last year. Said it wasn't a shot at anyone but McD is so detail oriented and thorough. He's coaching and pushing the guys. Already working on game type situations. This is just great to see.

  6. welp. that kind of sums of the state of his body.

and another bites the dust. gonna get you too.

lets hope for the best but we should always expect the worse

Maybe this is a new, smart strategy for the Bills, kind of like what NHL teams do. We always say let's wrap Sammy in bubble wrap until the season starts. So here ya go. Maintenance days may be the norm.

  7. I watched JJ a lot. I always wanted UB to feature him MORE than they did, especially as a Soph and Junior. He seems dangerous every time he got the ball.

The comparisons above are good. I'd also compare him to a lighter Karlos Williams. He gets downhill, fast and he's still a pretty big guy. He's faster than you think he is.

If the Bills give him a legit shot to make the team, I think he could do it. That means he would have to be given more than 5 total carries with the 4th string in preseason. Obviously he would have to show something on special teams as well and might even need another RB to go down with an injury (to get a decent number of carries). Hopefully it works out for him. The Bills never really gave Branden Oliver a chance and he blew up in San Diego.

  8. Overdorf better have his resume updated. He is gone. Pegula pretty much wiped his hands from JO by saying it's up to Beane to decide. Beane will have his own style and ways of dealing with people and contract negotiations. It won't involve Overdorf that's for sure.

As for Brandon, if he can just stay on the business side of things I have no problem. He's probably a valuable guy and right hand man for Pegula. Just stay out of picking football players and cap stuff. If he had some influence in getting Brandon Beane I like that move. So now Russ can sit back and run the business side.

  9. Beane is such a good communicator. His background in media relations is really showing. Much better than Terry and Doug. Him and McDermott will be good reps for the team

Yeah every-time Terry is pulled in and asked a question i cringe. It's like, just let Beane handle the talking here. Terry and Doug together were the worst. I'm gonna enjoy hearing from Beane. Hope this works out.

  10. As Andy Reid has said in response to playoff failure critisicm.."you can't win the whole thing unless you are invited to the dance". So yes, I want to WIN now and make the g_d@mn playoffs for a change. Then i will worry about winning the Super Bowl. Count me as one that is sick and tired of "tank" talk. That is for losers, as the Pegulas have found out with the Sabres. Assemble the best team you can now and make a run for the playoffs. Hopefully Tyrod has his best year and maybe even Peterman or Cardale will turn in to something.

  11. This is not embarrassing. McDermott and Beane were getting hired by some organization...if not this year then next. It's been documented by several NFL people that the fact they know each other and share the same vision of how to build a team is a GOOD thing, not a negative.

I like the hires...will definitely be a change to see people with high intelligence running the show over there.

  12.

Actually I think the big issue with Whaley was that he didn't play well with the local media (and possibly some Bills FO insiders), got on the media schittlist, and so got all these stories about arguments, fights, "going rogue" etc etc.

Other issues that may or may not have been Whaley's fault but that def. impacted the team's growth and perception of Whaley:

    1) contract details. not enough protections for the team on some of the big contracts such as Dareus; too much guaranteed money on injury-risk players like OL Chris Williams; kind of weird optional TT extension last year that had to be re-done this spring. How much of this on Overdorf/lawyers and how much on Whaley, dunno but the buck gotta stop somewhere

    2) player injuries. players drafted or picked up by Bills who either didn't play at all or saw limited action. How much on the medical staff who vetted them and how much on Whaley, again, buck gotta stop somewhere

    3) player violations. Dareus drag racing/substance abuse; Henderson substance abuse; Karlos Williams substance abuse/weight gain; Kouandjio partially clothed in a field (!!!). Not Whaley's fault per se but again - buck gotta stop somewhere for chosing guys who can't stay straight and giving them (in some cases) big contracts.

Probably a combination of all those things. To me, Whaley never played well in public. He'd stammer in radio interviews, get flustered sometimes and could not think quickly on his feet when questioning went sideways. He didn't present like a real confident guy. From everything i saw and read, he never seemed like a leader.... He seemed much better suited in his behind-the-scenes roles as scouting director, pro personnel, etc,,,

Right off the bat, you hear people that know Beane describe him as a leader and very smart. So that's probably what the Pegulas want...along with someone who shares the same vision with McDermott.

  13. Tank mode is not an option for me,,,and I assume after his experience w/ the Sabres it's not an option for the Pegulas. I'm all for winning as many games as possible now. I'm a big TT fan and hope he kills it this year and puts all the naysayers to bed.

However, if Peterman beats him out with his play (and i don't expect this until Summer 2018)...I'm all for him starting. Gruden and a bunch of other NFL media thinks this kid can be a very successful Pro QB. We'll see.

  14. Keep an eye on RB Jordan Johnson from UB. He could be the new Gillislee.

Sure hope they give Jordan a real shot.. I think he's an excellent downhill RB and even I could see his skills in college would translate well to the Pro's. If they give him 7 carries in preseason with the 3rd string Oline, then I would say that's not a real shot to make the team.
