Last i heard, someone stepped on his foot. Must've been stepped on by godzilla or something.

I feel like they are taught to not let the receiver get behind them and make the sure tackle to live and fight another down (without getting burned on a long score). I mean we just give up 6 yard TD runs like a knife through butter, but hey they don't give up the long bombs!

This 100%. Teams just take what we give them, move the chains, chew up clock and keep Allen off the field. It's maddening. McDermott just prays we get a takeaway or big sack to thwart the drive. But that doesn't happen on every series as we know well.

I'd keep Samuel. He might be the only WR besides Shakir than even has a slice of rapport with Allen out there. I noticed last night they used our best hands guy, Shakir, as a punt catcher. I know they don't want him getting blasted on punt returns.

I'm convinced that McD, Brady and Beane talked about offensive philosophy before the season and they are paralyzed with fear over JA getting injured. I mean i get it, he's the only way they win the prize. I don't want him hurdling LB's either, and he broke his left hand diving into the end zone last season vs Arizona. However, there is a way to scheme up plays beyond handing off that can mitigate risk. He's at his best rolling around, fakes, throwing misdirection. I also think there is a risk of injury standing in the pocket while it's caving in on his legs...or hitting his fingers on a helmet on a follow-through throw.

- Get some help for Bobby Babich, we have some athletes but they are not in good position and the in-game schemes are off on 3rd and medium+ - Change this season's offensive philosophy. Stop playing such conservative football in the first half of games. When you have Josh Allen and deficiencies on the back end of your defense, building a nice lead with some up-tempo offence will get you the #1 seed. These guys are holding back and running the offense like we have Joe Flacco at QB. Check the film from the previous few seasons on how they rolled teams in the first half. - Demote Ray Davis and promote the Gore Jr. kid. If nothing else, to send a message for a week or two. Gotta give James Cook fewer touches without losing massive amounts of productivity. - May need to trade draft assets for a legit downfield threat, these outside WR's are not championship caliber guys.

A Few Thoughts about the Pats Game - Post yours as well

The refereeing was so bizarre because it was so one sided for the first 2.5 quarters beyond anything reasonable. The procedure penalties have to be called, and even a few of those were iffy. but the judgement stuff can't be called only one way. This was like an NHL game where one club gets 7 consecutive power plays through the first two periods, then they start evening them up in the third period. But you lost out on so many opportunities early that it's hard to make up late. -
The Ray Davis-backup running back discussion

A couple ex-NFL'ers said something similar on TV this morning.. that the Bills don't have any WR's to get behind the D. They said nobody respects the Bills deep passing game because they just don't have the guys and that will cost them down the road when it matters most. -
Penalties and very uncharacteristic ball security issues ultimately destroyed this game. or they would have eeked it out .

My friends who are Pats fans have proclaimed that the Division takeover is in progress and there's a changing of the guard. We shall see... long season.

All last week the NFL experts on TV were saying you can't run effectively on that NE defensive line. Our RB's ended up with 19 carries for 60. I find it frustrating that Brady could not foresee some issues in the run game and counter that with some good strategy to burn them.
-
Bro was 13 of 14 for 184 yds in the second half, and 6 for 6 for 90 yds in the fourth Qtr...in a very hostile environment against a supposedly elite NFL team that had a long home winning streak. I think he passed all tests. BUT, it's a week to week league.. and I feel like that will be Diggs' best game of the season.

The final play to Shakir. Samuel was wide open for easy TD

Josh was getting knocked around pretty good in that 2nd half.. Not sure how that affected him? if any. He had some nice throws but definitely missed a few open guys. -
They read their press clippings. They start thinking they are hot sh*t and invincible especially at home and can "flip the switch" to win the game whenever they want. McDermott is constantly reminding them to stay humble.,,

This team as of today is not as good as the 2023 & 2024 Bills clubs. Maybe they get better and play their best football later in the season? We shall see, but they are not as good as of today. The 4-1 record is solid for what they are right now. -
The Ray Davis-backup running back discussion
zow2 replied to TBBills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ray Davis- I'm just about done with this guy. No juice whatsoever and it's clear Brady doesn't trust him. Brady made comments last week how he needs to work in Davis and Ty more...but he gets caught up in playing the hot hand. And last night Ray gets two carries and Ty gets two (one nice run called back due to penalty). If you watch NFL games around the league you see other secondary RB's getting work and making plays. I don't know what happened to the running back room outside of Cook? -
The Bills looked older and not as fired up as NE last night... and add in some of the lazy fundamental penalties. Sometimes the team needs a good slap in the face and to become the hunter again...not always the hunted. This loss will give McDermott, Allen and the rest of the guys a lot of motivation. We still have an "easier" schedule compared to other clubs not named New England, and the Bills only have one game away from the Eastern time zone (Houston).
-
The defensive coordinators continue to write the book on how to defend Maye. We will see how things go as they year(s) goes on. The great QB's always seem to overcome whatever is being schemed against them. He looked very good last night, especially 2nd half. We will see how it goes but yeah it could be a battle, and I hated even more when they hired Vrabel because he's a damn good coach.
-
You all think life is rough not having been to, or won a SB despite some fantastic Bills seasons with Josh Allen. Wait until Maye/Vrabel win a SB or two down the road. Ugh, I think i will have to give up football if that happens.
-
Pats have an easier schedule the rest of the way than Buffalo. They are setting themselves up for a nice year,, but they won't win all the games they are favored to win.
-
I think it's an organizational philosophy they decided on coming into the season. McD and Brady will never admit that but it has to be. They know they have the MVP QB, and a solid O-line and James Cook. The problem is becoming that the O-line is not playing to the level of last season (in my opinion). They are getting off to slow first halfs which is keeping the games close into the 4th Qtr. Last night Josh took off more than he had the prior four games, but he has been relying on staying in the pocket and getting the ball off on time, often short passes. We all thought the running back room was very good beyond Cook, but it has regressed to the point Brady doesn't trust them at all.

The song, the uniforms, seeing Mack and Stefan in New England jerseys. everything was off last night. The Bills were physically whooped too, on our home field. Just a bad all around night.

Stop playing such conservative football in the first half. That style of play is reserved for teams that play solid 3rd down defense and get off the field. Not for Buffalo with Allen. -

I want the Bills to stop being so conservative in the first half. It leads to close 4th quarters and you aren’t gonna win all of them.
