  1. To me the normal state of affairs in the AFC is 2 teams from East 2 from Central 1 from South 1 from West It was unusual the East didn't get two teams in last year. The South is clearly too weak to have two teams - it's the Texans and that's it. Titans have a small chance of being mildly competitive. In the West, they fight each other so much that, while SD, KC and Denver may all be competitive, only one will make it with not that great a record. Probably Peyton gets Denver past the other two - SD is on the way down. So, basically, the Bills have to beat out the Jets and Dolphins with a good (10+ win) record and I believe they'll make it.
  2. And here, collected in one thread, are all the guys who actually watch commercials on web sites. Why?
  3. Good luck tomorrow. You're going to end up a bit disappointed. Close game at halftime. Over by the start of the 4th.
  4. I'm enjoying this. These Raiders fans are kind of funny. Talk about delusions of grandeur. This game is very simple. This year, you will need a shut down defense to keep the Bills under 28 points. We're talking Jets, Ravens, maybe Pats*, maybe Bears when Urlacher is playing well, maybe Steelers if they pull things together. Raiders are not on this list. They have a decent defense, like the Bills, but not great or shut down. So, can the Raiders score over 30 points just by running the ball? Easy answer, no. Maybe 20, maybe 24. Raiders will not be able to keep up with Bills offense, even if they own time of possession (which I doubt they will - it's easy to key on the run defense when that's all the other team offers). Bills 31, Raiders 23
  5. Sorry, the only pick I like is the 3rd rounder. Hate taking a QB in the second, and not a big fan of Fairley. I am afraid he is going to bust big time.
  6. Concerning the "Parcell Rules" article... Tyrod Taylor, Virginia Tech (6/7) Three-year starter? Yes Senior? Yes Graduate? Yes 30 games? Yes (49 played, 41 started) 23 wins? Yes (34) 2-to-1 ratio? Yes (44-to-20) Above 60 percent? No (57.4%, but 60.6% Senior Yr) Can be had in the 7th round? Yes Why pick Dalton or Ponder or someone in the 2nd?
  7. +1 Second is too early for a QB. After we make a front 7 pick in round 1, the second pick should be another front 7 pick or a RT. I am thinking Von Miller / Derrick Sherrod or Von Miller / Akeem Ayers or Von Miller / one of the DLine prospects that should have been picked in round 1 but falls.
  8. Yeah, he's pretty much #1 at any position. Certainly the #1 WR
  9. Swap Von miller in for gabbert in the first and you have a decent draft there
  10. +1 A lot of people on this board hate him for some reason, but he will be on the board in the 7th maybe even UDFA amd is as much of an athlete for chan to coach up as half the WBA folks want to pick in the 2nd and 3rd
  11. And too many posters are making that argument in a year when there is no franchise QB in the draft. You want to make a mistake that will set your team back ten years? Draft a QB very high who is not really a franchise QB so that you are forced to play him even when he doesn't have it, just because you picked him so high. Look up Carson Palmer and Alex Smith as examples. At least with a bad pick like Maybin, you can admit your mistake and move on after a couple of years. But with a "franchise QB" pick who really isn't a franchise QB (i.e. Gabbert, Newton), you will stuck for at least five - seven years trying to figure out what to do with the guy, forced to play him. It also entirely defeats the point of hiring a guy like Gailey, whose main merit is developing an offense that doesn't require a Peyton Manning to be successful. No thanks. Not this year.
  12. I think he's saying something about torturing him with Apple Cider...I could be wrong.
  13. Still supporting Von Miller in the first. Based on this list, the players I am looking at in the second are Derrick Sherrod, Akeem Ayers and perhaps Kyle Rudolph, though I'm not a big fan of picking TE in the early rounds after seeing the offense Gailey wants to run.
  14. I guess it's insulting to ask if you are joking... But, are you joking??? I know I will get flamed for this, but I've already said it another thread: I'd MUCH rather see what Gailey can do with an athletic guy like Tavaris Jackson, who has has at least SOME success in this league, than a guy like Claussen, who clearly does not have it
