Trump and Russia
Benjamin Franklin replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This morning the tv at my gym locker room was on msnbc. Holy crap who watches that? It must be the worst "news" station on the planet. -
Trump and Russia
Benjamin Franklin replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I didn't say I didn't read your source and I also didn't discredit it. I said that the sources you link to lack all credibility because you believe in all sorts of nonsense. -

Benjamin Franklin replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The hyperspace research institute in St Thomas was one of your earlier sources, where you claimed a reknowned physicist published proof of futuristic technology hidden from us mere mortals. So...you can see why I'm skeptical of your sources. As I said, I'll wait to see if it gets traction. I mean. You can't even get traction here. This exchange is the most interest anyone at PPP has shown in your most recent X-file. -

Sigh. You posted your missive in two places and keep linking back to it. Take a look at who's responded besides the crickets. I don't, believe it or not, look to your sources as my primary read. And when you linked to a particularly easy one to dismantle, dismantle I did, in an embarrassing fashion for you. And you were so ground to dust you couldn't even respond. So I don't take your word. That doesn't mean I don't think you've got a certain brightness in your brain, but I don't trust you. If this story percolates upwards, it will be worthy of attention. If not, you can call it definitive evidence of a vast conspiracy. -

DR: You have one source that you tout as definitive. It's certainly not a source I've reviewed in any detail, but it's also not a source and story that any news outlet of any credibility is picking up on. If the US Intel community manipulated the data as you say, that would be a huge story, and any news outlet would be eager to publish it. From a philosophical perspective, you claim to possess many answers known to no one except your cabal and endless "deep" conspiratorial insights that we've shown in this thread to be embarrassingly wrong (Hyperspace Research Institute as one of your prior definitive sources), I doubt them. That's how you and all your conspiracies sound. So I'll wait to read more about this "definitive" proof. Please don't respond. You can do something better with your time. -

Trump foreign policy
Benjamin Franklin replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/08/03/mega-leak-transcripts-trumps-foreign-leader-phone-calls-emerge.html Transcripts of calls with international leaders within the story. Interesting to read the actual dialog. Trump is no different than you'd think, and the other world leaders have to exercise incredible tact to maintain their dignity and respect for the US. -
Global warming err Climate change HOAX
Benjamin Franklin replied to Very wide right's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Same. And though Tuesday didn't say this above, it appeared he was implying he was somewhere in this direction. And the responses were what they were. -
Global warming err Climate change HOAX
Benjamin Franklin replied to Very wide right's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You prove the point in this digression. That's an attempt to have a conversation. But above this is a gazillion posts about name calling and when one guy tried to say, "Hey I'm not with the crazy people," the response was "there are crazy people on the left." That's not a dialog, it's a Kindergarten playground. Climate change doesn't move me much but I care about the planet in other ways where it's better established that we humans can make a difference. Acid rain. Air quality. Water quality. The government's intervention on many things has helped where private industry was not moving to adapt, and in that way, it's an area where I support government intervention. -

More fiction and hyperbole that prevents dialog. Well done. You're a racist for wanting to take away Obamacare too, right? Is the problem with this avenue of discourse st all clear to you? -

Asinine straw man and anecdote. Tuesday tried for dialog and got this. You can care about the environment and not be the straw man you created. Just like you can want less government spending and not be a racist. -
Ah. I have trees that block Sat. Guess that's why I'm eligible. I tried to have it installed before but it doesn't work.

CTE in nearly 90 percent of football players
Benjamin Franklin replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As a parent, you draw the line on dangers you tolerate and those you don't. I'm surprised parents would be ok with the concussion and CTE risks from football and boxing when there are many other sports but everyone has to draw their own lines on what's ok to subject your kids to. Growing up, I knew parents who would buy their kids beer. I see that today with pot. Different parents, different rules. -
You might be right but Congress is about ready to move back towards the middle a bit, especially on healthcare. And with Dems saying they won't pass any tax overhaul plan that doesn't reduce the deficit, maybe on that issue too. Congress has been in shambles of party dysfunction for a while and paying the price with low approval (but no turnover!). Can't keep it going.

You can just sign up at DirectTV for the Sunday streaming package now. I used to have to verify I couldn't get DTV where I live but not anymore. Just sign up and you can watch on your computer, phone, or set top bog (Roku, Apple TV). I'm already signed up. No need for this runaround any more.

Political cowardice is taking the easy road of saying "Obamacare sucks and I won't work with the people who created it." Or "We're going to ram Obamacare down the throats of you Republicans." That's simple brainless thinking. What it leads to is one party passes, the next party undoes what the first party did, and the next party undoes what the last party did, and on and on in the endless political circle of you vs. gator vs. you vs. gator. What might actually work, as Magox noted and some here have hope for, is that the parties work together on a compromise, because, you know, the country is made up of more than one sect of voters. Then maybe the marketplaces get fixed, the penalty goes away, pharma gives a little, the free benefits get slashed some, etc...everyone's bull gets gored and we get a better system. Or do the "skinny repeal" BS things the Reps keep proposing and we end up at Medicare-for-all, which is what some Dems want for sure, and the Reps will have only themselves to blame for not getting a plan done that might work.

Trump's leadership team
Benjamin Franklin replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
We will see. Deep Throat was an anonymous source. They've been around and a tangled problem for a long time. But important too. Usually on a story with specifics and magnitude, the White House, in this case, is given the opportunity to push back if the facts are wrong. -

Him or Sessions. My money is that Kelly wants more grown ups and tries to keep them both. Kelly has the ear of the president for a week anyways. -

Let me know when Congrss starts enacting meaningful legislation that curtails executive overreach Carnac. Or just meaningful legislation period. I'd settle for that. -

I thought he was talking about Kelly-Anne. Monkeys !@#$ footballs with more order than this White House runs things. -
Agreed. TV serial shows are much better now. The 90s were a nadir of TV.
