Based on what Marv said regarding faster, lighter DT's, we won't be drafting Ngata either. I'm thinking Huff or Davis and we get a S in the 3rd, an OL in the 2nd and find our DT's in FA. Possibly another DT with our other 3rd.
Anyone who has done even a minute amount of negotiating in their lives knows this is probably all posturing. It makes sense for them to end up coming to the table and figuring things out. Upshaw is just leveraging for position.
However, I could be wrong and the NFL could be fooked.
I am not so much concerned if we don't land LeCharles. I think we can add good players on the OL without Bentley. I mean, it would be nice but his price seems to be a little high.

Polamalu:

Hope had more interceptions. Had similar numbers of tackles. Polamalu had more sacks.
I would say the Ravens yawner a few years back was worse...or at least more boring. I actually fell asleep during that one. Hell, who can watch Trent Dilfer without going catatonic anyways?
How about the one where the Seahawk (can't remember his name) got the ball knocked loose, but they ruled it an incomplete pass. He took like six steps (doesn't that constitute a football move?) before the ball popped loose.
Those guys were stoned out of their gourds. James, he couldn't even keep a straight face. Willis, well, he tried to keep a straight face. But man, when you're stoned and you're trying to look sober and someone starts laughing, game over.
I just read the mock draft that was posted on billszone.com
I was like WTF? No D-lineman and Omar Jacobs in round 2? Obviously that person doesn't seem to think we have major d-line and o-line problems.
The fact that Jacksonville got into the playoffs is what got Jauron the Chicago gig. His defense ranked somewhere in the middle (like 13th, 15th, and one I can't remember).
That's why you triangulate between money, proven success and smarts. Spurrier was a good college coach and unproven in the NFL. Bates (for example) has done extremely well almost everywhere he's been.
