I'm sorry, but the Sabres are not the premier sports team in Western New York. Maybe they're more competitive, or better run, but no way any NHL franchise compares to an NFL franchise.

Cincinnati had a decent defense. We were HORRIBLE versus the run. I don't think we had the luxury of taking either Green or Dalton. But it has worked out well for them. I think Dareus has worked out well for us and I think A Williams showed flashes of brilliance in the pre-season.

The thing that confused me most yesterday was Gailey's play calling. Yup, only 2 screens. No stacked receivers. No Brad Smith. No Spiller out wide (that I remember). Bland running plays (3 yards and a cloud of dust, something Gailey said, as a team, "We don't do."). Anywho, it looked to me like we don't match up well with the Jets. Their DB's made our WR's look beyond pedestrian. Except for the awesome fake-out that Stevie had on Revis. That was brilliant. And I hate to say it, but I think no Kelsay out there really hurt us too...but we'll never know.

Yeah. Mike Alstott was terrible like that too.

Maybe Aaron Maybin is a fantastic human being. I have no idea. However, many people here were irate we didn't take Orakpo, and Aaron Maybin symbolizes everything that was wrong with Jauron as a coach and the organization as a whole. Also, no one should forget Russ Brandon standing up there waxing poetic about how special Aaron Maybin was the day he was drafted. It was also infuriating as fans to see a guy whose JOB it is to put on weight not be able to. I mean, for christsakes, I am 40 and put 10 pounds on after about 10 months of hitting the gym hard...and I am not a professional athlete nor am I that heavy. And, when Maybin was out on the field he looked relatively lost and out of place. Anyone remember him spinning wildly out of control on the kick off return this pre-season? Oy vey. I wish Aaron Maybin well. But I also wish he gets crushed by Eric Wood this Sunday. Repeatedly.

For as much of this board that goes into "DOOOOMED" mode, how the hell can anyone call Schoebel a quitter? He put up with 8 years of the franchises crap. I mean, he put up with Dick Jauron for 3 freakin' years. Oi vey, the people on this forum kill me sometimes.

I am beginning to think this might be the pick. Last year, I was high on Dareus before a lot of people got on the bandwagon. I also think the FSU OLB Jenkins might be on the Bills radar...but Nix/Whaley/Gaily could always surprise.

My biggest pet peeve with Madden/NCAA football is when the CB's backs are turned, and you throw the ball, the DB automatically re-routes to the guy you're throwing the ball to. Which is ridiculous, especially when they don't lose a step. If I see the back of a jersey, I want to be able to throw the ball just like in real life. Ok, rant over.

Kelsay started improving at the end of last year. In the beginning though, he was as bad as you can get for a pro.

There was at least one play against Cincy when Troup pushed his guy all the way back into Dalton. And that doesn't qualify as sucking.
