I think the OP begins on a faulty premise. There are good players to be had at 10, it's just that none of them fit what he may want. Floyd is a good prospect (and he's a good run blocker, which is something Chix values), DeCastro is my dark horse candidate for a surprise at 10, you also have Tannehill as a possibility, and there is also Martin from Stanford. What's missing is the DE or Sam LB people are looking for at 10.

Garcon at only 6' doesn't strike me as one of those "He's open even when he's covered" guys that Nix talked about. Not knocking the receiver, just saying that Bowe and VJ seem to be that kind of guy as opposed to Garcon.

Let me make this real easy for you, because I see you're having trouble. The doctors have cleared him to play football. Meaning, they inspected his neck and have said there is no medical reason (regarding the fusion) that he can't play. That, however, doesn't mean he CAN actually play football. You see, he also had nerve damage, which means he doesn't have the strength, stamina, or touch to throw the football in an NFL game setting. In other words, he has been cleared to take a hit but can't yet throw a football like he needs to. Now, if you want to break a story on how nerve regeneration isn't an issue, then props to you. Maybe the NFL Network will offer you a job. Otherwise, you've either been ignoring every story on Peyton's rehabilitation or you live under a rock.

I like Buddy and Chan. That being said, was this all part of Buddy's master plan? I guess Wanny necessitated this change, but why didn't they go after a proven 3-4 guy two years ago? At least we have players with 4-3 experience. Carrington is an 4-3 DE in college and Troup was a DT. Crossing fingers Wanny makes all of this belly aching a moot point with an improved defense.

I thought Adams, the LT from Ohio State, was by far the most impressive/dominant player I saw. Also, the WR from Arkansas seemed real good. Upshaw looked real good against LSU in the BCS game, but looked so-so in this game.

Buddy Nix has a history of being a straight shooter. He's not the kind of guy who says he'll extend someone, and then doesn't. This story is crap, IMHO.

So, what are the two other schools "better" than A&M? Houston? That's a recent development. Texas Tech? Hardly. Baylor? Another recent development.
