  1. I have noticed the same thing. The San Francisco crash has wall to wall coverage with 2 dead, the Alaska crash with 10 dead get a quick story and back to SF. Meanwhile, only a few miles from the US a disaster occurs that vaporizes a section of a town along with 50 people, and there is very little coverage.
  2. Unfortunately it went down the garbage disposal.
  3. We have a cove and a secluded beach near our house we like to go, backside of Jones beach in long island, NY. Almost private, only accessible by boat. Just pull in, anchor from the bow, stern anchor to the beach, relax for the afternoon. If there is a concert in the stadium, around 3 pm they do a run through, sometimes we will spend the night and listen to the full concert.
  4. Great news, you are gaining a son!
  5. I guess the picnic table was too good for him
  6. Tasty?
  7. I was a fan of Buffalo Bill before I was aware of the Bills. My Dad was the original cartoonist for the Bills and used to create the covers and interior artwork for the programs in the early 60's. I would watch him draw the old Buffalo Bill character and since we had the same name, I would try to find my name on the cover of the program (sometimes he would hide it in the grass, or in the fringe of the jacket). As I got older he would take me to games in the Rockpile and I became a Bills football fan around 1966.
  8. Wow, thats a lot of advise requested, but two things jump out, 1- This is not worth ending your life over. There may be some painful times ahead, but removing yourself from the equation leaves more losses than resolutions. Not only does your partner of 8 years lose you, the (potential) child will never know you other than an obituary or news story they find when they dig into the question "who was my Dad". 2 - Go for the paternity test, if the child is yours, then you work out the rest of the plan, but if it is not your child, then you have a better understanding of who you were with. If you are indeed the father, then options can be many, Pay support, adopt with your partner, but be there with the kid if at all possible.

  14. My parents grew up in the falls, I went to Niagara and lived on fourth street for the last 2 years of my college years. My wife and I used to grab sandwiches and hang out on the islands. I haven't been back there in years, only because whenever we bring visitors, they want the "development" found on the Canadian side. While I agree that more can be done on the US side, I think it could be done in other areas and not in that park. Unfortunately, it always seems that no matter how much money goes into that city, the unions and politicians make it disappear. I watched the Winter garden open, (I was one of the first security guards there) such a gorgeous place, given 5 years they turned it into a complete cesspool, opening it to the food court, the fountains were drained and the original plantings died and were replaced with hearty crap that could handle the the uncontrolled management that went on there. It was one of the saddest things I saw when I came back about 5 years after graduation and saw what became of the place. Other projects that just screamed corruption include the Library on main street that was in disrepair and in need of a new roof withing 5 years of completion. The waterpark was another debacle. Hopefully the windfall coming in from the latest casino infusion will find it's way to actually do something to help the city become a city that can sustain itself, you have millions of visitors coming to the area, do something to keep them on this side of the bridge. Messing with that park was a waste of money, but, spending more to restore it might be more of a waste.
