  1. Why is that Joe? Did he diss you in some way? I would go with OJ, as a kid growing up, he was everything to Buffalo football. As someone said earlier, every time he touched the ball, the crowd stood up because he could break one at any moment. Fantastic running ability and presence on the field. Thurman would be my second choice if for some reason OJ is not able to attend the TBD awards ceremony

  5. Yes, I saw that page, the question is the malleable nature (or not) of the cooling coils and structure of the refrigerant loop. I am hoping to find a barrel over the next few weeks, and from there I will try a few cheap craigslist finds for the refrigerator parts. Hopefully I can get it done for less than $300 but we will see how many variations of the cooling system I break trying to compact it into a barrel.

  7. I am looking for advice (I'm not Chef Jim). I am kicking around the idea of making a wine/Whiskey barrel kegerator. I have looked over a few online DIY projects on the subject but have some questions. The basic structure is a wine barrel cut open and fitted with the remains of a small cube refrigerator (think of the dorm refrigerators). These fridges have 3 main components, the condenser, the coil on the back and the freezer compartment that chills the cube refrigerator. In the examples I have seen, the 3 components are stripped away from the shell of the fridge and fitted into the barrel. As I understand it the 3 components are sealed and cannot be taken apart without having to have special refrigeration tools and skills to reassemble. http://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=285887 http://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=368443 The questions I have for the experts here are : Can the cooling coil be mounted under the barrel? (I plan on a small platform to elevate the barrel on wheels for portability) If the coil can be mounted underneath, how can I rotate it so as not to snap off or pinch the fine tubes that are connected to the condenser and chill plate? If the coil cannot be mounted underneath and rotated, can it be placed inside the chilled barrel without ruining the efficiency of the system? Will the condenser need extra ventilation if I were to enclose it in a false bottom inside the barrel? A half keg is a tight fit, so I may have to go with ponies, can I get standard brands in those sizes or just craft beers? With ponies, I can probably squeeze 2 in the space, should I get a double tap or stick with a single and just have the extra pony as a backup? Any help is appreciated
  8. That must have been some death grip

  10. Sadly, my wife told me she contacted our kids via text, one who is in Denver, the other Syracuse. My wife must have mis-read the name she pulled up and sent it to someone else (effectively eliminating the Denver son from the list) and the one in Syracuse just lost his phone. Denver finally saw it on Facebook and said "Geez, nice way to find out about my dog...." then left a message for our daughter asking about it. For a few days my wife would say "I can't believe the kids are so cold as to not saying anything about the dog, whats that all about" .
  11. I havent figured out how to post a pic as requested. She was a rescue and when we got her she had some scars from the some idiot who abused her. Rkfast sent me some pics last night of Tyler when she was pup, while our older dog was acting as big brother. If anyone can guide me through it I would post one or two. RKfast if you see this, jump in with a pic.
  12. Our once in a lifetime dog passed away today. After 14 years, she just ran out of time. A big (70lb) pit/shepard mix who was so well trained she really didn't need a leash. Was gentle with kids and adults, would watch a plate of food at chest level and not touch it, just a great companion. She had been having age issues for the last few months and had stopped her daily routine - wake up, pad into our bedroom, walk to each side of the bed and either snort in our face or rub her head under an outstretched hand to wake us up. Then she would guide us down to her dish for feeding time, on the way carrying a sock or something she picked up on the way as a treat for us when she goes for her bowl. She had not participated in the daily routine for about 3 months since she couldn't do the stairs. Yesterday I awoke to a snort in the face, my wife felt the "self-petting" under her hand. Tyler gave us a dirty sock and ate breakfast and laid down. She stayed in the same spot and refused to move, eat or drink. We knew the end was near when my daughter called during the day to report the breathing was heavy and Tyler wasnt moving all day. After work, nothing had changed, I gave her a hug, she refused steak, water or snacks. She wasn't in any pain that we could see as we went to bed. This morning I came down, she was aware of me, I gave her a pet and a hug, she kind of took a deep breath and snorted in my scent, shuddered a bit and I called my wife down, by the time my wife came down, Tyler had gone. Such a sweet dog and a perfect buddy.

  17. Oh Im sure this me-first mother will have an attorney lined up and ready to go within a week. The self centered people that inhabit this planet never seem to amaze me. She was certainly told in writing and on announcements when she departed that the ship leaves at a specific time, but out of 22,000 departing passengers, her needs come first. Now she will claim her children were in danger, her trip ruined, and mental anguish and all the other nonsense. For the ship's attorney, an opening line could start with "So you left your precious children unattended on a ship in a foreign country?" "When you decided to ignore the written advisories of the ships policy regarding returning to board the ship on time, did you think about these same children?" "When we look at the video of you returning from shopping, we notice as you exit the vehicle you have some large shopping bags. What wonderful treasures are contained in those bags that was more important than these children you abandoned?"
  18. Send out a small pilot boat to pick up the parents, it can pick them up and the ship would only have to pause for a few moments to allow the boat to transfer the parents onboard. BUT, I would charge the mother $10,000 for the service of the boat for inconverniencing the other passengers who were able to tell time and buy trinkets without haggling for the best price and causing such a delay.
