  1. Great article, (naturally it is written by a St Joes educated student) I probably went there in the late 60s and early 70s when my Grandmother used to be in that area. Saw how it slowly (in my mind) got worse as the years past from late 60's to mid 70's. I haven't been in that part of Buffalo in at least 30 years, maybe next trip up I will try a drive through just to reminisce.
  2. Well, We tried to watch network TV last night, it was "muddy" and we froze up 3 times watching a half hour show, in each case we had to back out of Modbro completely and start again. Any other suggestions?
  3. So far so good! it took a few tries, but i have it loaded, hope to see how it works over the next few days. Thanks!!
  4. Well, I am on Long Island, so i am happy with nyc local news. going to try modbro. do i get that through kodi?
  5. Not really, still working on it, The antennae i have is a 1 by One, 50 mile indoor antennae. I am going to try a new ;locationtoday, I need help since Ihad surgery on rotator cuff yesterday. I also tried some new channels on the firestick, some success, but not the original problem, local news and regular TV networks in real time.
  6. Actually, this could solve my problems, I bought an indoor HD antennae with booster, but I have it pointed West, which for my location is a waste, I need to point it North east to get anything, Will try it tonight, thanks!
  7. I have amazon prime and Netflix, but that still doesn't get me live stuff. Since beginning of February we have been watching everything the next day. Now instead of saying "What's on TV tonight" my wife says "What did we miss yesterday you cheap mother#$@^er"
  8. I have tried the OTA HD antennae, it works for most of the local channels, unless of course it is cloudy or a bird flies by. I did a bunch of googling, found fire stick loading videos, that's how I got Kodi and the other add-ons, but in many cases, a subscription is required or a credit card is needed to get local/national broadcasts on some of them. It seems a bit sketchy when they are asking for your credit card for free tv.
  9. Our house is being lifted due to storm damage from Sandy. We recently moved to another area that does not have similar services (Cable TV). I cannot do a dish since we don't own the house. I have internet and an amazon firestick. I was wondering if anyone has figured out if there is a way to get local programming or at least watch the major networks using a firestick. So far I have jail broken the stick, and have Kodi, Exodus, Phoenix and a bunch more, but I have yet to be able to watch regular, local TV or even ABC, CBS, NBC live. I can however watch streaming news from WIVB which is nice, but it is just the news, on a loop, updated every few hours. I can watch the same type programing for stations from Montana to Louisiana, but cannot seem to get regular old TV stations. Has anyone figured out how to get the stick to get Local Stations and/or national broadcasts?
  10. Now Rodak is backing off saying paperwork filed, not signed yet. Does this make other teams take a look and make a better offer? That would be so Buffalo Billsian
  11. A few that dropped off that I miss: Bill from Livonia, just kind of dropped off the radar, Bob Lamb, moved away and joined the circus or something Lori, still miss her insight AIO, just a lurker now There are probably a bunch more that I am missing, those were right off the top of my head.
  12. While we do not condone the actions taken on other message boards, as per the current political climate we live in, we cannot just allow these MB immigrants to stream over our border without proper vetting. In this case Extreme Vetting of MB immigrants is in order Specifically those immigrants from boards that are known to have been influenced and moderated by OBD. Let's make TBD great again!
  13. And yet we still enjoy your posts...
  14. Is that daily intake from Wed-Sunday or overall between Wed-Sunday?
  15. A beautiful eulogy Mark, I can only imagine the sorrow you must be going through, but it helps to reflect on what a wonderful son you have watching over you now. I am sure that his presence will be felt each and every day going forward, whether it is the sound of a sneaker squeak on the hardwood floor, or a smirk that your wife or daughter has that Danny had. He will be around you and poke through to remind you that he is still around. Embrace these signs as his way of watching over you, he will forever be in your heart.
  16. Tom, can you set up the memorial in Danny's' name, I think they need someone to create the memorial first.
  17. So sorry to hear the news, I still have a pic of you two at the 1st tailgate, As you said, they don't want to be where they are and as a parent, we can give as much support and love, but the demons are strong. God bless you and your family and hopefully Danny is in peace.
  18. That train has been delayed to allow them to add more cars after the draft
  19. It was in the middle of the article "Then a tip came to the district in March saying her film name was Robyn Foster"
  20. Your Host, we used to have 2 of them in Kenmore, loved those places, even when I was working at one for a few months in high school.
  21. I was a sophomore at St. Joes. We lived in Kenmore, right off Delaware Ave. I remember getting home and watching the snow just continue coming down for what seemed like forever. My Dad made it home from downtown in the late afternoon. My brother had been driving our 1966 mustang and abandoned it just off the skyway. Somehow he made it home, but we never saw the car again. After a day or two of being cramped in the house we went to a Presbyterian church next to my friends house with a fire escape outside, we took turns jumping off it into the snow until we packed it down. At some point about 2-3 days into it, the guy that was the facilities manager for my Dads building said he was going downtown to check out the building and asked my dad if I wanted to go. I was so bored I was ready to go anywhere, so this little old guy (Arnold Dahl) drove his rear wheel drive Cadillac from Kenmore to the Holling Press building on Washington street downtown. It was something to see, this 80 something year old guy slalom down Delaware avenue in a gold caddy, through the "S" turns at the park and right into the downtown area. I know I helped him shovel a bit, he checked the boilers and the water and we headed back. The rest of the storm we just watched as national guards drove down Delaware on their way downtown. I was actually relieved when school started after a 2 week break. These days, my kids still have no idea what that kind of snow looks like.
