Conversly, Just think of the Super Bowls we would have won had we come up with nicknames for Dufek, Mathison, JP and Trent. Maybe thats what has been missing all along -

Snakeland: What Do You Know/Remember?
Guffalo replied to Fadingpain's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Were those the ones on Military road? I do remember a kids older brother died from a fall from the elevator shaft there. I don't remember it being called Snakeland, but I was always warned by my mother to never go near that place. -
True or Apocryphal: Buffalo City Hall Suicide Incident

My freinds father worked at the Board of Education and his office faced the square (which is round), and he claimed to have seen the aftermath from his window. It was 1977 or so and the guy was initially alive when he landed. My understanding is they had to cut the pole and cart him away. I remember someone had a picture of the guy as they were working -
I saw an article from long ago regarding the Jills, in the late 70's - early 80's. There was a male cheerleader on those squads for maybe 2-3 years. I recall he ended up as a dentist or something in Florida, but had come back for one of the reunions. He had been a gymnast and was actually one of the first male NFL cheerleaders. I can't find his name, but at one time I was going to use it as a user name here as a goof to see if anyone picked up on it.

It was later determined that it was not a fishing pole he was holding. -

Retirement: Where to Get the Best Bang For Your Buck in the USA
Guffalo replied to T&C's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I get it, but Chapin is inland towards Columbia, not down in the lowlands. A few years ago we were there and we actually woke up to snow on november 1. They have a milder winter, but away from the lake it can get hot in the summer, but the November-April/May stretch is where I want to spend time there. -
Retirement: Where to Get the Best Bang For Your Buck in the USA
Guffalo replied to T&C's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I am hoping to retire in Chapin, South Carolina. We bought a house on a golf course, adjacent to Lake Murray, a 41 mile long lake. It was an investment that we thought our daughter would use after college since she had originally planned on staying in the area, boyfreind and job caused her to move back to Long Island. It is rented out now, but taxes for in state residents is 1,300 per year. (SC taxes on other things like cars, boats etc.) My only issue is now that our daughter is thinking about marriage, the wife is full on " I want to be around grandchildren" mode and that may mean we have to keep something here on the Island. I was hoping to do a 6 months in SC, 6 in WNY, but now the wife is pushing for the 6 in Long Island and she will probably try for 10 if she can get away with it. It's all moot until we retire, but I am trying to get a plan in place. -
Back in High School and college I had a Yamaha 350 RD, it was a 2 stroke rocket. I loved it but as everyone has said, your head has to be on a swivel. Once, riding down Delaware Ave. a woman in the left lane with her left blinker decides to take a right as I was passing in the lane, I had to downshift and cram on the brakes causing my front to slip out and I went down, I was so pissed I almost took off my helmet and beat her to death. She could have killed me with her stupidity. My adrenalin was such that I just heaved the bike up from the pavement and drove off, later when I got to work and the adrenalin rush subsided, I started to find the gravel, bruises and scrapes on the legs and palms of my hands. I ended up selling it when I moved from Buffalo, but once in a while I will take my brothers BMW R /75 for a ride up in Canada. But I am pretty much done with bikes unless I move from Long Island/Tri state area.

This is for you Bills fans coming to Lambeau
Guffalo replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is an intersection in Green Bay, Shady Lane and Buffalo Street. Icebowl, can you find out if the owners would like to host a party? They seem to have a massive lawn. 5 minutes from the stadium. -
Its kind of cute, "The Monk" watch Paris runway models copy it this season.
